  2. A simple letter from the parents may not be enough. See https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-family-legal-documents-do-i-need-to-board Also, despite the short duration it would be prudent to have written authorization to make medical decisions for the child.
  3. The press release was from Public Health Canada. The test requirement for boarding cruise ships is from Transport Canada. If memory serves, the Transport Canada order was published after the press release.
  4. Is that a repair or did the artist just want to draw viewers eyes?
  5. Saw https://www.cbsnews.com/news/carnival-cruise-ship-mardi-gras-rescues-16-people-who-were-stranded-at-sea/#app and https://www.cnn.com/travel/amp/carnival-cruise-mardi-gras-rescues-stranded-passengers/index.html so came here looking for a thread. Current live review doesn't mention it and search turns up nothing. Is there an active thread? If not, anyone on board that witnessed the rescue and / or hand off?
  6. Can't happen. As long as a ship floats the water underneath will be able to move it. You can do your own experiment in a bowl or bath tub. If you are that sensitive, you might consider the various anti-nausea treatments available. They run the gamut of electronic & static wrist bands through natural edibles like ginger to chemicals that your doctor or pharmacist can suggest. There does not appear to be a single solution that works for everyone.
  7. Cruise ships represent a tiny portion of marine entries. One of the problems with press releases is that they are not good at conveying details of complex topics.
  8. No, the requirement for a COVID test to board a cruise ship is laid out in https://tc.canada.ca/en/marine-transportation/marine-safety/ship-safety-bulletins/measures-support-safe-cruise-travel-canada-ssb-no-18-2021-modified-may-6-2022. See Testing Framework. I believe you have conflated entering Canada with boarding a cruise ship. They are not the same as the order applies to cruise ships entering and departing Canada.
  9. The link I posted applies, as the title suggests to "Entering or leaving Canada by cruise ship during COVID-19". The conditions have not changed. To board a cruise ship all passengers require a COVID test unless the they had COVID between 10 and 90 days prior. See various cruise line FAQ https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cruise-health/frequently-asked-questions/us-cruises/ https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/will-i-have-to-take-a-test-before-i-cruise https://www.carnival.com/legal/covid-19-legal-notices/covid-19-guest-protocols https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/worry-free-promise/travel-well/frequently-asked-questions/faq-for-cruises-from-usa.html https://www.celebritycruises.com/ca/health-and-safety

  12. I can't believe it's almost over. ☚ī¸
  13. I had similar trouble with registering in ON this time. I concluded that the issue was the bar code and dense QR type code on the back. A very well focused straight on shot with no reflection was necessary. Perhaps the software has to read the code to authenticate.
  14. You need an ArriveCAN submission for the US to Canada flight. I don't think you need a submission for the Vancouver to Whittier cruise. In fact it's not possible to complete a submission if the arrival port is not in Canada.
  15. I've found that on some platforms I need to occasionally refresh the page to update the stream. This is particularly true on my Android tablet in Chrome.
  16. Yes. I don't think you can get an ArriveCAN QR for a cruise that ends outside of Canada. You may need an ArriveCAN QR for entering the Yukon, depends on the itinerary. The tour operator should know. If your flight back to Vancouver is from Alaska an ArriveCAN QR will be needed for the flight.
  17. Presuming a round trip cruise from Vancouver: Primary reason: Canadian citizen etc. (presuming you qualify, otherwise Discretionary etc.) Country of original departure: Canada Port of entry: Vancouver Date of arrival: date of cruise termination Are you travelling on a cruise ship? Yes Is the cruise terminating in Canada? Yes
  18. The Carnival requirement is within 3 days prior to departure for boosted passengers, 2 days for fully vaccinated. See https://www.carnival.com.au/legal/covid-19-legal-notices/covid-19-faqs. Real difference between days and hours.
  19. Perhaps you need to use a different mask. You may be sensitive to the material in the ones you are using.
  20. Before posting check at the bottom of the edit. You should see a list of the pictures, including ones you may have inserted in a previous post. Just delete those entries. Tap each entry if the pic isn't showing. It should display part of the image. Tap the x in the upper right corner (may show a garbage can in a corner instead).
  21. Local tax, labor and other laws would have to be followed. Mucho additional paperwork.
  22. I wonder if the bars are to keep pirates out or crew on board? 🙂
