  1. I do feel for the OP. No one wants to miss a holiday and be out of pocket due to their own admin error. I can understand how it can be messed up, esp for those of us with more then one passport. I would imagine the Hungarian passport neded a ESTA to go with it and the OP didnt have their other boarding docs, Birth cert, driving Licence etc for closed loop US trips. Lesson leart for all.
  2. As a parent i know my family would really enjoy Icon, however not at the prices. Yes it offers more then Oasis class but still not enough to warrent the price. We have a week booked on Allure in Oct 25 for 2 adults, 1 child for £1735. Icon is easy double that price. My main concern about Icon is the pools and area to sunbathe. The pools look small and shallow and the top deck just looks cluttered and covered. Most of the pics i have seen the sunbeds are few and far between and in the shade. The kids area looks like it's for younger children, maybe up to 8 years old. 🤔. Water slides do look great though.
  3. Whilst people still buy it they will charge for it. Not Royals fault..... 🤷
  4. Class of RCL ship 1, Oasis 2, Freedom Went on Brilliance and Anthem and didnt like them so will stick with only the Oasis and Freedom class ships. Not yet sold on Icon, dont think there is enough deep ish pool space or sun loungers in the sunny areas. Just seems crammed but keeping my opinions open as more reviews come in when she is full.
  5. Wow utter chav bling.....for those who do not know what a chav is " a young working-class person whose tastes, although sometimes expensive, are considered vulgar by some, usually found wearing all in one matching sports wear". 😅 Of course there are other definition's of chavs.......
  6. Totally agree, i will more then happily stick to my inside room nad buffet food, no wifi, or drinks pckage even though i can afford a balcony room the extra packages. I just prefer apending my money on more cruises then optional extras i dont really need or want. Still have a great time.
  7. We are going on world europe in april out of Barcelona. Watch out for a review as we have also recently been on Oasis. Have sailed MSC before and they are good value for money
  8. I did find it amusing when we visited the states from the UK. When i was paying for things such as the hotel i would have to explain that i was handing the staff my debt card and not a credit card, as that affects the way its processed. The number of staff who would put it through like a credit card and wonder why it wouldnt work was high. But once i explained they were happy but surprised i was using a debt card and not puttin it on a credit card. I only have my mortgage on credit everything else i want or need in life i save for.
  9. Great pics of the upper decks. Looks nice but seems to be very few places in the sun to actually sunbath......🤔 Just lots of covered areas and "pay extra" sun beds.....
  10. Just dont do it. Really not worth the risk. Royal have said no, countries outside of the US have said no so just dont do it. Surely you can enjoy a cruise without the need to have "fix"......
  11. Oh i really dont know about MSC and allergies. I know when we went on MSC Virtuosa it wasnt very well advertised about allergies. Royal were very good with my mum being a coeliac when away on Oasis of the seas, but by far the best we have seen for allergies, labeling food and different food stations esp in the buffet was P&O on Arvia. Way and above every cruise line we have sailed on. Good luck with your research and always good to go on a nice short fact finding cruise.
  12. More then welcome..we are going on world Europa from Barcelona in April. All i would advise if your expecting royal level of service and entertainment then MSC is totally different. Its European so we dont need so much of the in your face customer service, lots of different languages and nationalities onboard, shows are good but different. Food is more of a European flavour, yes still have burgers and fries (chips for us in uk). Over all its a different experience but still a lot of fun. And the different itineraries are well worth that difference. 👍
  13. Thanks for the pics those that are sailing. What is the deck space and deck chair availability around the pools? Thanks all.
  14. We have seen the same behaviour only once thankfully out of Miami. Huge plates of food spread across a table. Lots of wasted food and the mess, all over table and floor. Just not polite and fair to the hard working crew or others who are witing for a table. But love the WJ, lots of choice and no need for the sit down formal wait etc.
  15. My mum just booked on prezioza for dec, Christmas market 7 night cruise from Southampton to europe. 2 old ladys, inside room with drinks package was just over 1k. They are super excited.
  16. I know my sister had to wait over an hour on the phone hoping the room is still available..... Poor royal IT system.
  17. Totally not worth more then £10 for a ride. Nice attempt at high ropes but yeah no way would i pay more then £10 a time and i still think thats extreme as well.
  18. Every time i have checked icon prices as soon as i add my 10 year old its cheaper the just two adults. I think and imgine rhe vast majority of rooms are 3-4 people and royal want to fill ever bed space. I could never understand how you can book a spacious interior room that sleeps six for only three people. Other cruise lines you can only book the rooms for the number of guests.
  19. Allure is scheduled for her amplification feb-april 2025. She is coming across to europe early feb then nothing scheduled until april. We spoke to a rep at a cruise event in Lincoln last sunday and she confirmed Allure is being amped early 2025 before her european summer season. 👍
  20. What are the open decks like? Specifically spaces for sunbeds and to chill. From the pics just looks like lots of covered areas on the open decks and not much space to sit sunbath and chill by pools.
  21. We were on Oasis last FEB my mum is a celiac. So for breakfast the lovely head of the park cafe would get her gluten free toast or bread rolls. Also bags of gluten free cookies. In evenings we ate at the buffet. She spoke to the head chef and he got one of his chefs, guy called jamie to make her a fresh gluten free meals on request. He would give her options and surprise her. The food was really good and she was well looked after. Only point to note in the buffet do not trust the cake signs. Some cakes looked identical yet the signs said either gluten free or not. Best stay away from them tbh. Also pizza place you can ask for a gluten free pizza 👍
  22. Be a pain to carry that around all day.....😂
  23. Looking forward to the reviews. Esp interested in the deck space and pool sizes 👍
  24. My daughter loves looking for ducks and gets excited when she finds one. Of course she wants to keep all of them but we always put most of them back or re hide them. I have heard people moaning about them being plastic and harming the environment whilst sipping water from a plastic bottle or a few years ago drinking from plastic straws etc. Its fun and should stay but maybe they could be made out of a biodegradable material......👍
  25. As a brit i enjoyed it as we have limited bbq resturants in the UK. We shared a three meat combo and that was plenty. Pricing was ok but they do add a 18% graturity and another line to tip extra if memory serves me right. Oh and was a walk in and chill outside at the back
