  1. We were on the Luminosa 4th of July week last year. We really enjoyed the trip and the ship. The only negative we had was the beds. Its personal preferences but we found them too firm. If you like softer plush bed, I dont think you will find it.
  2. Definitely Gaidos. If you are staying in that area and need a breakfast place the next morning, we like Millers Seawall
  3. Hi, if you google cruise packing lists you will find websites with suggested items so you can pick and chose to restart your own lists. I have been working to try to down size my packing but my must haves include hats, sun block, bug spray, my own little drug store of items from aspirin type products, cold remedies, rolaids etc, bandaids, neosporin etc., (my hubby laughs at me until he needs something), items for pool/beach, beach bag, small crossbody bag I carry for outings, hair products, lotions, clothing that will pass for elegant night (if i chose to participate). The rest is pretty standard when traveling
  4. Hi, They have a facebook page, you can send them a message. It may take a few days to get a response
  5. I just found this,I love your reviews and can't wait to read about your adventures. We were also had booked on the Magic in Sept. It was to be our first b2b and was excited about the Canada ports. We cancelled and rebooked 2 separate cruises. Our b2b experience will have to wait until another time when we can drag ourselves away from our 4 legged children
  6. Hi, there are 2 different discussions here 🙂 .. airport to Galveston and Galveston hotel to port. The rate above was from Galveston hotel to the port. Once all of the additional surcharges, tax etc., is was over $170.00. Airport to Galveston try Saltwater Moms, they may have a little bit better rate if they have an opening. They are definitely a pleasure to use. I have been booking with them for 3 years. They can be messaged through their facebook page
  7. We were going out on the Carnival Dream, don't remember which pier. Yes it was expensive. We went out on New Years Eve, not sure if the fare was higher due to the holidays. They emailed the invoice and there is multiple additional charges from the base rate of 85.00. Walking was not a option even with luggage as I had an injury so I decided to just book it and be done, The service was good. Below shows some of the add ons that could be added.. it was almost a yr ago Base Rate 85.00 Fuel Surch (12.000%) 10.44 Port Tariff (1 x 25.00) 25.00 PDA Surch (30.000%) 37.52 City Fee 2.00 Std Grat (15.000%) 13.05 Total Due (USD): 173.01 Payments/Deposits (USD): 173.01 Total Outstanding (USD): 0.00
  8. I used Galveston Limo from the Tremont to the port. I use Saltwater Moms for transportation from Houston Airport to hotels.
  9. I believe you can book them,I never have tried as I know they get pretty busy with airport runs on the day of embarking.
  10. Hi, The Tremont is in Galveston, it was just my husband and myself. We always come in a day or so early so need transportation the day of. We do use Saltwater Moms with every trip from Houston to a Galveston hotel. It was high but I had a bad experience the last time. I was on a girls trip with a lot of luggage staying at a Seawall hotel, had issues getting tax /lyft etc., the morning of. We ended up with a taxi that was pretty questionable and at that time they could not drop us off in the terminal which they didn't tell us until we were there.
  11. Hi, we used they for our new years eve cruise, dec. of 2022. They picked us up at The Tremont Hotel and took us to the port. They were polite, on time with no issues.we had 4 bags- 2 large, 2 carry ons. it was about 173.00 but well worth it as it can be a struggle to get a cab/lyft to the port of cruise day.
  12. We love cruising out of Galveston. We come in a day early, flying into Houston so its further. We always use Saltwater Moms. It's a wonderful group of ladies. They will keep you entertained with all kinds of history and stories about the Island. If they have time, they may offer to stop at Buc-ees if you have not had experience. The Island has some great restaurants and a lot of places to keep you entertained if you have the time. We are going in January and coming in 2 days earlier so we can spend from time on the Strand (shops etc.,). We re staying at the Tremont which is wonderful, lots of history but not a bargain hotel. There are also a lot of hotels by the seawall which also has lots of restaurants.
  13. I love stopping in at Blue Heaven for shrimp & grits and key lime pie.
  14. Could it be a Colorado Bulldog where they add a splash of cola?
  15. We are also flying in tomorrow from Phoenix for a Saturday boarding on the Horizon w/ a stop in Dallas. So far no flight changes but tomorrow could be a different story. We have a 5am so my fear is getting stuck in Dallas and trying to find a way out. Its a group of us.. 2 out of Denver and 3 of us out of Phx but 2 different flight routes.. hope we all make it. I planned this a year ago for my retirement so fingers crossed, my ducks are all packed 🙂
  16. I was on the Dream for a New Years cruise and my magnets would not work, I had to use command strips. I carry both just in case
  17. I used them the first week in May. Houston airport to Galveston and then back to Houston from the port. It was $100.00 each way plus tip which is a great price. I am coming back in for a New Years Eve trip and have already booked with them again
