  1. I try apply all promotional OBC on precruise purchases before I redeem CC rewards for OBC.
  2. Rewards OBC are refundable as you earned the rewards via CC use. They will credit the dollar amount to the your credit card of record.
  3. Absolutely! On a recent trip to London we walked into a restaurant at 7:00 pm and it we were the only table. I was worried the restaurant was not very good. It was fine and started to pick up as we were leaving around 8:30 pm.
  4. I followed this link and submitted the forms for both of us since we both have CPAP machines. The response back from HAL was the same for both of us was: "Our guests often bring sleep apnea machines on board. Holland America Line staterooms have standard US outlets. However, as the outlets are usually on the dressing tables and not near the head of the bed, we do recommend bringing an extension cord." Bottom line, we need to bring our own extension cord.
  5. I use magnetic hooks on the metal ceiling and route the cord with them to the bed.
  6. It may or not be acceptable NOW as the wording in the prohibited items has been changed. Others have interpreted the new language to apply to units with multi power outlets (as this picture shows) versus 100% multiple USB ports with 0 power outlets. With RC (and other cruise lines) adding more functionality to their app it makes smart devices more necessary. They are going to have to allow methods to recharge multiple devices, especially on the older ships.
  7. Is the booking a specialty restaurant reservation online cheaper than after boarding the ship?
  8. After desalination they add back minerals to “improve” the taste. Not good for CPAP machines.
  9. I ordered 1 gallon each of distilled water for (2) 2025 cruises on HAL web page yesterday (9/12/24) for $2.95 each
  10. I know this is a Celebrity forum but I think watching other cruise lines that have added so many cabins to their fleet would be the ones to focus on.
  11. Did they reprice the excursion to the onboard cost?
  12. You should find a new cruise line that will make you happier.
  13. Or guest cancellations are less than they expected.
  14. When Southwest stopped serving Newark Airport, Port Liberty became an undesirable port for us.
  15. I was under the impression once one submits a moveup bid it was locked in and could not be canceled. Am I mistaken?
  16. We bought our first ever drink package on any cruise line for a 2014 Thanksgiving cruise on Celebrity Constellation. I remember the wine steward just bringing a couple bottles of wine and set them next to the table in the MDR. We were getting wine by the glass per our package. There were four of us enjoying the same wine. He apparently decided it was easier to just bring a couple bottles rather than going to the service bar for refills.
  17. We were on Silhouette in March. We never waited for a table ever for breakfast, lunch on sea days or dinner, around 7pm at Luminae. We were seated at or next to the same table for every meal and had the same waiter.
  18. How does travel insurance deal with claims if one needs to cancel for an insurance approved reason? Our travel insurance policy for our next cruise excludes reimbursement for any air travel paid for with loyalty points. It is up to us to cancel any air travel within the airline's terms and conditions cancellation window or we lose the points.
  19. Extension cords are specifically listed in the Not Allowed list in the Celebrity FAQ. You never had the cord confiscated? We have asked our Room Steward for the extension cord and they have brought it and most times volunteering to bring a gallon of distilled water as well.
  20. excuse my naivete, those bags are ours to keep?
  21. One other note - non refundable. If you have to cancel, any redeemed gift cards are lost. I do not know how travel insurance helps if at all.
  22. We always book a refundable fare category after we lost big bucks during the pandemic. Maybe that has helped.
  23. And for those flying check the airlines too. I have re booked our flight, Chicago to Boston 2 times after price drops.
