  1. The boats go to the same area to see the whales, I think it is a shorter cruise from Husavik than from Akureyri.
  2. When we lived in Boston we went to NYC 5-7 times/year and we always took that route.
  3. NCL would have the info. But they may not know this far out what the exact schedule will be. They usually open the lot well before boarding time, but I'm not sure about morning for an 11PM departure. You could always park elsewhere, sightsee, then come back and park at the pier
  4. Silver Line is an easy solution. Take it to South Station, go up the stairs for a free transfer to the Red Line to Park Street Station.
  5. Have you asked your travel agent or the cruiseline? Your cruise papers should have this information
  6. Dial 7 and Carmel are the most recommended car services. When a hotel sets up a ride, they usually add surcharges and fees, especially if using a broker instead of booking direct. Cabs are fine, so are uber/lyft
  7. Here is the website and map of the most popular trolley company #1 Boston Tourist Map | Free Interactive & Printable Boston Map (trolleytours.com) Looks like they stop at the terminal in certain times
  8. I'd book something in Bar Harbor in advance as there aren't a ton of options locally and they might be sold out
  9. Also let us know the ports and ships. Some are easier for chairs than others. Tenders can be an issue, too.
  10. Taxi runs about $125. Makes sense for four passengers, convenience might make it make sense for three, but bus would be cheaper
  11. I certainly never said that. But any place a tourist would likely want to visit shouldn't be feared and shouldn't be warned against.
  12. We just moved from Boston. We were in Manhattan 6-8 times per year, and averaged 25K steps/day, all over Manhattan, plus Queens and Brooklyn. The blanket "Not Safe" cries are what bugs me. When good people are afraid to walk the streets only bad people will walk the streets. Don't be part of the problem telling good people not to walk the streets
  13. The “I” symbol may mean Information about current or planned service interruptions or slowdowns. Click on them to read the info.
  14. I like the odds. And I have never felt unsafe doing this. Nor have others here who have actually done this. I don’t understand the “ NYC IS UNSAFE” and “why take a chance” chants from folks who haven’t actually had their feet in the ground recently. Fear-mongering makes us all weak, and can empty the streets of folks who are just enjoying themselves, leaving them open to those who might see more opportunity to commit crimes do to the lack of eyes around them. There is no upside to these “warnings”
  15. I am seeing 3900 ISK/person on the re.is site. That works out to about $28/person.
  16. It’s not luck. It’s statistics. NYC is safe. I had some comments deleted as well, I think. But the negative ones stayed up. Weird.
  17. I have walked this route and along the river more than once since Covid. Have you?
  18. Sorry to hear that. It really is much safer in NYC than one reads or sees on certain media. There are Big City Crime Stats out there that make this clear.
  19. It's much less than $79/person direct on Flybus. I avoid 3rd parties as I have read too many stories about loss of communication when you add extra companies to the mix. Even with Viator. The anger at them on the Support board at TripAdvisor, their parent company, would be amusing if it wasn't so upsetting
  20. From dawn until after theater, so 10PM in Times Square arriving at our hotel in Tribeca after 11PM Have you?
  21. Ridiculous. As I said on the prior page I've been in NYC 5 times in the past year+ and walked the length of 8th Avenue from Greenwich Village to beyond the Natural History Museum. Plus thru the Park and up and down Broadway and many other avenues. Big cities are different. There is crime in every city. There are unhoused people in every major city. One has very little to do with the other, but it may be unattractive to visitors.
  22. Was Viator cheaper than booking direct? I'm not a fan of using 3rd parties unless I have no alternative or the savings is substantial.
  23. Boston Chowda makes a decent lobster roll and they are in Quincy Market and many other nicer food courts. I've never had a bad one there, but I've never had a great one there, either.
  24. I've only been in NYC 5 times in the past 15 months, and walked past the train hall multiple times on each visit. The new building is cleaner and I didn't see any crimes being committed, @Hlitner What happened to you there that you responded like this?
