  1. No reviews since September in Berlin for SPB: SPB Tours Berlin - All You Need to Know BEFORE You Go (tripadvisor.com) No reviews since 2019 for Helsinki: SPB Tours Helsinki - All You Need to Know BEFORE You Go (tripadvisor.com) Maybe post on the Helsinki and Berlin forums at TripAdvisor to see if anyone there has been in touch with SPB?
  2. SO may options in these ports. I lived in Boston until last summer. You can do a Fenway Park tour or you can walk the Freedom Trail or you can sail on the Charles River or you can walk the Harborwalk along the waterfront or you can explore the Arnold Arboretum or you can take an historic Harbor Cruise. See? So many options, and even with the details you have provided about your interests, asking strangers to pick the best for you is nearly impossible. It's like a stranger asking you what they should do in Baltimore. So many possibilities! Maybe look over the options the cruiseship is offering and see what sounds best for you and then ask about those specifically here? We can tell you if it fits your needs or if there is a better way to do something (like, you don't need a $100 tour to do the Freedom Trail, or you can take public transport to Fenway). Does that make sense?
  3. Depends on your goals. For warmest weather, take the earliest date For best chances of foliage, the 9/28 or 10/12 dates would probably be best, but there are never guarantees. 10/5 would most likely be smackdab in the middle of expected peak colors Cruises offer multiple excursions because they aren't "One Size Fits All". Without knowing your preferences it's pretty hard to suggest things. Do you like hiking? Other active outings? Boat tours? Museums? Shopping? Cooking classes? Etc
  4. Guest services is convenient but won't give a competitive exchange rate. They may or may not change back, it depends on if they will be doing another Canada cruise and expect to use the funds again. You will lose $$ again on the exchange back. Credit/Debit cards are going to cover most or all of your needs and you will get a much better exchange rate, even if your card charges fees for International transactions.
  5. HOHO buses aren't great in NYC. VERY hard to get on one once you get off, so OK, I guess, to do "a lap" to get your bearings, but not useful as transportation or to get off and expect to get back on without a lengthy wait. In July it is likely going to be VERY hot and sunny on that top deck, too. You might want to spend 30 minutes reading the NYC Forum over at TripAdvisor to get a feel for where people stay and eat and tour and what things cost. Once you have that understanding you will know what info folks need to help you, like exact dates, budget per night, and hopefully the neighborhood that really is best for you
  6. This is correct. The rich folks don't "work" on the island. And the workers aren't upscale, they are workers
  7. It's going to be chilly on deck up north, so a sleeveless tank will likely have you shivering. Ships are usually air conditioned quite well, so having a jacket or sweater handy is always a good idea, no matter where you are cruising
  8. Head nets aren't a bad idea. They are cheap, don't take up much space in your bags, and are environmentally friendly. We did 2 nights in Myvatn awhile back and the bugs were annoying but that was about it. Didn't see many insects at all in the rest of the country and we've been there many times
  9. Vigur for Isafjordur or any of the Nature trips (Myvatn, Dettifoss, etc) for Akureyri. But really, it's all about what YOU want to see, not what @janetcblor I want to see. Why did you pick Iceland?
  10. Yes. That is a reseller that looks legit. But it isn't. That website "neil simon theater" IS NOT THE WEBSITE FOR THE THEATER. Please read my prior comments about how to find the Official Seller, which I will repeat here. If you start at Playbill.com and click the SHOWS link then pick your show (which is MJ) and Box Office Tickets you get taken to the ONLY LEGIT SITE to buy tickets, which is Ticketmaster. There are many other safe places to buy your tickets, but you will pay extra fees for zero extra benefit. I don't know why anyone would do that intentionally. When you go to any other site you are paying too much, plain and simple. Seat Geek is the official seller for some shows but not this one. They are likely doing resale here, buying tickets themselves and then reselling for more money, or they are facilitating resale from folks who bought tickets and can't go or who are trying to make a profit.
  11. Good advice. And the safest way to FIND those official sites is starting at Playbill, as there are lookalike sites for shows as well. Ticketmaster lost most of their Broadway contracts to Seat Geek about a year ago. They still do Hamilton but not much more
  12. Most theaters sell tickets at the box office. What @Lois R is trying to do is buy tickets online, and websites that appear to be theater box offices are usually resellers masquerading as the official seller. You shouldn't buy tickets at www.richardrodgers.com or gershwintheater.com, etc.
  13. No! The theaters do not sell tickets. Start at Playbill.com and click through. Most shows are officially sold by Telecharge or SeatGeek, but there are a couple other smaller official sellers, including Ticketmaster.. I believe the Hudson Theater is the only one that sells their tickets on a website named for the theater There are companies who buy websites like "neilsimontheatertickets.com" that are TOTALLY not legit!
  14. Best way to know if you are buying from the OFFICIAL seller is to start at Playbill.com and then find the list of shows and click the Tickets link there. Lots of "lookalike" sites that do sell legit tickets but add big fees to the price without adding any extra service. Avoid things like Broadway.com or any site with "Newyork" in the name as they are not the offiical sellers
  15. @Momma Mojito, you have quoted 2 posts but not added any information. If the replies have helped you, please let us know, if you need more information, please let us know, also.
  16. I've never heard of anyone having luggage rejected on Amtrak. No checked luggage just means it all has to go with you, as I think you know. There is room for storage of larger items at the end of each train car, and smaller items can go over your head As long as you can manage it all . . . You might want to use the services of a Red Cap if you are boarding and/or detraining at a major station (Boston/NYC/DC). Tip them $5/bag or so and you will get early boarding and not have to worry about wrangling all those bags
  17. City to Airport is about $125-$150. BL is near the airport so I would expect this fare to run about $100. There is a decent "Taxi Fare Finder" website for Iceland taxi prices that you might want to check
  18. It's Massachusetts. Things move slowly there. They may not know the location of the ship until a day or two before.
  19. Can confirm that non-flash photos are ok in the mansions. In the daytime they are full of light anyway, so a flash isn't needed
  20. "You could rent a car, take a taxi (expect it to be very costly) and I don't know how you would get one back if the driver does not wait for you (even more costly if you spend several hours there) Renting a car is really the only way to do this. Unless you are REALLY accomplished bicyclists!
  21. There is also public transportation near the port that can get you to the North End Boston's Chinatown hasn't been a "war zone" in at least 25 years. I've been there multiple times a year back to the Mid 1990s Maybe a Fenway Park tour would be of interest?
  22. You can walk to the Cliff Walk or take the trolley or a cab/uber
  23. Goðafoss isn't part of the Golden Circle or the South Coast tour. It is in northern Iceland. I've done both tours 3 times. Both are exciting to us every time. If I could only chose one it would be South Coast, but we are more into the spectacular scenery and glacier you see there, you don't get a glacier on the Golden Circle
