Last time in Roatan we had a cab 🚕 driver who waited for us and we got to Henry Morgan resort for a day pass. Safe secure place nice pool and security guards and Zumba and other activities. We’ve enjoyed the ferry ride over and walked over the hill with a quick stop at the Bermuda perfume factory 🏭 owner giving us a quick tour.

Assistant cruise director is a very fun and active guy named Alex. Going on the Getaway soon and should be fun.

Tobacco bay beach is excellent for beginners to learn snorkeling. Very shallow protected water. You could just put mask on and see fish.

We enjoyed the Getaway last year and are going back soon. Anyone know CD name and the amount of activities onboard. Last year every morning was a Zumba type class. And lots of live music and dancing opportunities. Recently I’ve been seeing more negative comments and reviews. Anyone recently had great experiences? many thanks 🙏

We’re going back to DR on Ncl getaway in February is there a resort area at port with lazy river and beach, for free. as I recall last year it was only for Carnival cruise ships. Anyone know of a good beach to visit last year the beach we went to was terrible. Not a favorite place yet. Trying hard to find nice beaches. thanks

Yes 2 different restaurants and if you have drinks package you can just get a bottle of wine to take home or we sometimes give it to a friend we just made onboard with out the drinks package

I remember when the chicken wings were to die for! 14 nights on the dawn and we ate em daily. Unfortunately my wife had blood work done on returning home. Her doctor called and said what were you eating as her cholesterol levels were through the roof! Blue lagoon days. Fast forward and we just got off the Getaway for 12 nights at the wings aren’t too good. Only tried em twice! Didn’t gain weight so I can live with it! Loved the live bands 3 of em and dancing opportunities!

If you’re in decent shape Boston is a wonderful place to visit! If you want a cheap day off your cruise ship you can walk to Harpoon Brewery beer hall. It’s a ways and a cab or Uber better. ICA art museum is next door too. Catch a ride to Hanover St. The Italian area. Galleria Umberto has excellent pizza and other specialty. Modern pastries for cannolis and expresso coffee. Regina original pizza nearby and excellent. Excellent Italian food on and off Hanover Street. J Hooks for excellent lobster rolls and chowder. Sail loft restaurant for excellent chowder. Boston island harbor tours excellent to old civil war fort prison. Cash is king in the North end. Paul revere museum and freedom trail. Public gardens are wonderful. All is walkable but if you can’t there are duck tours and hop on buses near the sea aquarium which is cool too. Fanuel hall Quincy market is a great tourist attraction but food much better in North End Hanover street. Boston improv comedy club is on Hanover with evening shows if you’re staying overnight. Great walking around city if you’re in decent shape!

Good to know about 5 to 7 pm any bar! Wife used to hate going to elite lounge for drinks. RCL 4 drinks a day works great for us as she rarely has one and I usually don’t drink 8 drinks a day. The lack of live music and dancing opportunities on Celebrity has made us gravitate toward NCL and RCL more than Celebrity and I used to adore Celebrity and the service and food was top notch. Free laundry and dry cleaning are excellent perks too!

We really enjoyed our 1 transatlantic on RCL back in fall of 2018! But luckily we had an amazing activity staff person Talita who had us dance with Zumba and other bands! Best part is extra hours sleep every couple of days. We did our own land tour in Portugal Italy and Poland and wound up in Barcelona for the cruise back home to the States! We returned from a cruise on the getaway in January and it was 12 nights of wonderful live bands and dancing opportunities. We’ve been looking into that same transatlantic too! I’m pretty sure NCL will have enough activity based on all our previous cruises as we’re platinum and close to sapphire soon! Definitely using the laundry freebie for us

Etiquette is a lost art! You’re up dancing and you expect your drinks and seats to be unoccupied when you’re finished with dancing? And folks call that chair hogging? I’m not sure how that is possible! Angry people are just nuts! Keep enjoying yourself and laugh at their nonsense….

Trinity reservations and park sleeping cruise easy and economical

Bayonne and Baltimore also New York City departure for several cruise and used trinity’s reservation each time! Not once any problems. Actually very good and economical compared to parking at port. Driving down from Massachusetts a day early is best a day early and recent cruise includes private car round trip! Call Bruce at Trinity or website . Yes it’s open! But I guarantee you your wife will appreciate the porcelain toilet 🚽 at carambola beach club at the other end of the beach

End of August or early September warm weather and water. Spring is cold ocean season.

We’re now always flying in a day early. Usually we use the 2 free bag airline. Twice burned by cruise lines air once celebrity and once rcl . Emergency phone number is a joke at 6 am flight. As we’re New England based we try cruising out of NYC or Bayonne NJ or Baltimore or Boston. Trinity’s reservation for great Park sleep cruise deals.

Oddest thing about this is that we met a couple in terminal and immediately became friends and a few days later she stated her boyfriend had Covid-19. Tested positive and quarantined for duration but not her. We enjoyed her company and I got sickly towards the end of the cruise. Off the ship on a Wednesday and my wife tested negative. As I drove home and felt sick I tested positive on Thursday. NCL did little for the sick boyfriend and she even had to take food and water to their room, same room. Looks like I’m getting paxlovid again. 3 rd time for me Covid-19. Phizer double booster and double vaccinations and even the 5th shot in January 2023. Great cruise except for the coronavirus!
