  1. Glad to see the Sky Princess was fun for you. Our first Princess cruise was on the Sky Princess and one of our favorite parts were the excellent staff. This summer we’re be headed on the Sun Princess and can’t wait!
  2. The kids clubs on Princess are great. Older teens (14-18) can check themselves in and out of the club; on the Sky Princess during Spring Break this year the older kids club was open until 1am. Lots for them to do like play video games, dance, or just chat. One night they had a hot tub party in a closed off area just for the kids that our daughter loved.
  3. We took our then 3 year old on a Holland America cruise and my then 4 year old nephew was on as well. Same situation - my parents booked a family cruise. Everyone was very nice to them and had no issues with them not being around other kids. We took them to dance classes and on excursions and of course spent plenty of time at the pool. And if someone gives them the stink eye, that's their problem, not yours. It's not a Virgin Cruise where it's adults only. children are a part of life, even if you don't have your own. In March, we went on another cruise (this time on Princess) with our daughter who is now 15 and also had a great time as a family. She loved the teen club. You can let the cruise line know that it's your child's birthday and at dinner that night the staff will celebrate them. The kids should stay full most of the time, but we always bring a few snacks on board just in case. They come in handy especially during excursions when the time between meals could be stretched out. Make sure everyone has a water bottle and get some of those drop-ins that taste like Kool-Aide or Gatorade so the kids have water during the day. Another way to get them involved is to have them help pick the excursions that you decide to do. Even if it's just getting off the ship and walking around in town, having the kids research the local life, food and what there is to do helps get them excited and engaged in their vacation. Hope everyone has a great time!
  4. Thank you for this info. Headed there next year for the first time and had no clue. Will be sure to pack my own.
  5. Florida Currency Exchange at Westshore Mall is great. I used the one in Clearwater in March for money for our cruise. They handle almost every currency and take cash or credit card.
  6. We were on the Sky Princess in March and the casino bartender refused to change from the tennis channel to the college basketball games. My husband ended up listening on his phone by the pool via Sirius XM or keeping up online when not in the cabin.
  7. I have a 14 yr old and we sailed on Sky Princess earlier this year. She LOVED the kid’s club. I was shocked how much time she spent there. Teens club was open til 1am and although we didn’t allow her to stay that long, we let her come back to the cabin at 11pm which gave my husband and I time to relax at a bar or catch a movie by the pool. The staff was great too.
  8. On April 7th we booked on the Sun for a June 7-day out of Athens. I just checked - the total price for that cruise in the same cabin type on the same deck has gone up $490 since then. Don't know if that's normal or not but glad we got in while we did in case it continues.
  9. Yep that’s when we were on! He said he was headed to Europe so I’m thinking he’s still there unless his contract came up in between. (Editing to say that I just realized it's only been about 6 weeks since we were on - so of course he's still there. It seems like such a long time ago since we sailed. We miss it a lot lol!)
  10. Good Spirits at Sea. If Kenny is still the main bartender, he can make almost anything you ask and he’s a pleasure! One night I didn’t know what I wanted to drink and asked him to make me something a little sweet that didn’t have tequila. No clue what it was but it was fab.
  11. Or if anyone knows if they have Instagram accounts. Topaz was my favorite band on our cruise. They could sing and play almost any genre!
  12. Try Bounce (https://usebounce.com/). They usually use UPS Stores for storage locations and their prices per bag are decent (around $7 or so).
  13. Was on the Sky Princess when it was in the Caribbean. It was over Spring Break so the ship was packed. We walked up to one of the MDRs midway through the trip without an reservation and were immediately seated. And you got a reservation for the best specialty restaurant on Sky. Sabatini’s is excellent. Food is well presented and tastes excellent and service was A+.
  14. I was on the Sky Princess in March but had the Plus that didn't include classes or desserts. We saw people getting the desserts and they were way too much. Who could eat two of those a day for 7 days?? We just booked on the Sun Princess for June, 2024 and got the Plus package. My teenager might want one of those desserts but I'd be surprised if my husband and I ever eat one. We will probably take the fitness classes depending on what's offered.
  15. I think they ask when there's a large group of people around and they can't distinguish who is who. I'm pretty recognizable in a group of people and was rarely asked for my room number when we were onboard last month. My husband has many doppelgängers and was often asked. That said, I would rather they asked for your last name instead of your room number because I don't want everyone to know where I'm staying.
  16. Does anyone know if the Sun Princess will have an area for the kid's clubs? I looked at the plans on CruiseMapper.com but didn't see it near the fitness center, which is where it was on the Sky Princess. Looked on other decks and couldn't find it.
  17. Interesting! On the Sky Princess at the beginning of March Madness didn’t show any games, not even in the casino where they were showing sports - but it was a minor tennis tournament. I asked the casino bartender and he said they wouldn’t be showing basketball. Thank goodness for SiriusXM so my husband could listen to the games. I did read somewhere else on here some ships showed the Final Four games.
  18. I finally found another photo with a sign! This is Blueberry Pudding. The sign says it's lactose-free and gluten-free.
  19. Oh wow! My family was on the last Caribbean trip in mid-April before the Sky Princess went across the Atlantic. We went to Bistro Sur la Mer on my husband and I’s 22nd wedding anniversary. They were wonderful and the entire staff sang happy anniversary to us.
  20. At the coffee bar in the buffet area I had an excellent honey lavender latte. Wish I had gotten more than one. In the MDR one night I had a coffee with Kahlua after dinner which hit the spot. And I didn’t have a bad mojito once.
  21. Once you’re on board, take a look at the Crown Grill Lounge. There’s foot traffic going through, but didn’t seem to be used a lot during the day, except for some people reading or playing cards. I didn’t see any official events taking place there on the Sky Princess, even at night.
  22. I had the prime rib one night in the MDR on the Sky Princess. It was excellent! And huge - spilt it with my daughter.
  23. My teenager said the answer to your question is “everything!” 😂 Everything we ordered a few weeks ago was excellent. Sabatini’s was our favorite specialty restaurant (we also went to Crown Grill and Bistro Sur la Mer). Photos are below but some of what we ate at Sabatini’s included the Ribollita soup, the fried rice balls, Burrata Caprese, Fritto Misto all’s Veneziana, Lobster Tortelloni, Trofine Con Pesto (this was the least favorite dish of the night), Eggplant Parm and Filetto di Branzino.
  24. I was on the Sky Princess for its last Caribbean week before it did the TA. Wifi for my husband was excellent. He could get his SiriusXM all day long and always was able to order on the Princess app. For me it was spotty. I sometimes got Sirius, had some trouble with the app when ordering (didn’t always show all the options he could see), could get on Gmail but could not download books or magazines from my library (lesson learned). Texting was perfectly fine. Not sure it makes a difference but he uses an Android and I use an iPhone.
  25. Here’s a menu from one of the MDR on the Sky Princess a few weeks ago. It was a Caribbean cruise, not a transatlantic.
