Following! Our second NCL cruise will be in May on the Breakaway. Our first was last year on the Bliss.

That is effing ridiculous.

Six is actually playing at a local theater here this week. I wasn't interested in seeing it on the Bliss last year, so I definitely wasn't interested in PAYING to see it. But my friend bought me a ticket to Saturday's show and only told me afterwards, so I guess I'm going after all.

I bought lanyards for our last cruise and we wore them for part of one day and then went with putting them in our pockets.

We did that a couple of times and I asked my husband, "don't you kind of feel like an a**hole?" and he immediately said, "nope."

Beetlejuice is 36 years old.

OK, I will bring one just in case. We did our first NCL cruise last year on the Bliss, and the steward and butler not only brought the extension cord but also taped it down so we wouldn't trip if we got up during the night, which we really appreciated. And based on last year's experience I agree with you that I should have just communicated directly with our butler and steward rather than the pre-concierge.

That's a great idea. I think I will try that.

It must depend on who you get. I called yesterday to request an extension cord for my husband's CPAP and she just said okay, anything else you need?

Same here. A sunny Caribbean or Hawaiian vacation always looks and sounds great, but then I spend the whole time trying to find shade, applying and reapplying sunscreen, and still worrying that I'll get a sunburn.

LOL, we are on the Bliss now, and the first time we went to the buffet and got the washy washy song, husband muttered to me, "does that guy come with a volume control?"

Ask the night before. Give them a heads up. 50% 50% chance. Cruise well and enjoy every moment. I have to report back on how this worked out! Last night (our first night on board) I ordered the chicken, and asked about getting the raviolo and adding shrimp the next night (tonight). Our server, May Rose, said that was no problem and she would let the chef know. Tonight we went in to dinner and we weren't seated in May Rose's section, but she came over to us and said everything was arranged and she would let our current server know (Louie). My dinner comes, and guess what? The chef actually made me my own special raviolo with the shrimp INSIDE of it! It was amazing, and I was just so touched that they took the trouble to arrange something special for me, when I would've been happy with just a side plate of shrimp! May Rose came by to see if I liked it and I told her she had just made my entire vacation. 🙂

I'm sailing on Saturday, and we got the email to upgrade about 21 days out.

Husband was stationed there twice in his 25 year career. Hope the passenger is okay.

How far out do you start receiving the emails?

I seem to remember @sid_9169 tried to do this and they charged him for the second appetizer. He had to go to guest services to get it removed, I believe.

I know you were very excited about this cruise, so I'm sorry to hear about how it turned out. I'm on the Bliss a week from tomorrow, and fingers crossed we'll have a great time! We haven't cruised in 8 years, maybe that will help. 😁

Good advice, and I also bring a can of saline nasal spray so I can do sinus rinses. I think the can is too big for carry-on luggage, in case you're not checking a bag for your flight.

Husband went to the Red Dog Saloon quite a few times during his stint in the Coast Guard. He's excited to introduce me to it in a couple of weeks. 🙂
