  1. Waiting for the sun to come up on a still and cold spring morning (6C/42F) in picturesque Halls Gap in the Grampians (Victoria, Australia) I was not the only one up and about ...
  2. I just looked up details from my trip in Dec 2018 on Celebrity Solstice. The charge was A$268.75 (at that time that was approx. US$206). Train only but from and back to the ship and the train went as far as Pukerangi. I had lots of OBC on that trip so made good use of it. Even though the weather was not the best that day, it was still a great experience and I'm glad I got to do it.
  3. Unlike on an aeroplane, you've got good views from non-window seats as well.
  4. HAL: US$199 train only, US$ 279 incl. Larnach Castle
  5. Following quote is from the Westerdam on-board report I mentioned in post #3: Covid Report as of 11/3/22 @ 4:30pm in Cairns The Captain just announced that our Covid numbers are down 7 people: 40 passengers and 3 crew. We have a decreasing trend which is very good.
  6. No worries. As Les (NSWP) said - enjoy your cruise. I'll be getting on when you get off, so make sure to bring her back in one piece 🙂
  7. I suggest asking in this thread. The OP is currently on Westerdam and has been happy to answer questions from what I have read. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2883377-btimmers-almost-live-downunder-2022-10222-to-12622-on-the-westerdam/
  8. We're coming on a coach through Ballarat tomorrow afternoon (for a tea stop) on the way to Halls Gap. Cold is OK as long as it's not too wet.
  9. Just noticed that we haven't heard from @Sparky74 since the beginning of the month. Hope everything is OK 🤔
  10. You can walk off the ship to the terminal building and into the town.
  11. This morning I spotted some yellow-tailed black-cockatoos. Unfortunately there was no way to get closer as they were on a tree above a waterfall. From what I've read, it's the male on the left and female on the right.
  12. Another first for me - before a concert inside Sydney's Town Hall (phone picture only)
  13. On Monday I finally visited the 'Chinese Garden of Friendship' at Sydney's darling Harbour. A selection of 'Penzai' trees (the Chinese version of Bonsai) The Dragon Wall, with the blue dragon representing New South Wales and a brown dragon representing Guangdong, both are in search of the pearl of wisdom (the red ball).
  14. A rare sunny Saturday called for a seaside walk Swallows nesting at the surf-lifesaving club building Some enjoyed the beach ... ... others played in the surf This sulphur-crested cockatoo was much more interested in his snacks than the humans watching it
