  1. Yes, if only the US had the population of The Netherlands, that would be great. We're 100% Dutch ancestry and can't wait for our cruise in 2024. We're coming home....
  2. Wait, what forum am I in? What day is it? GET OFF MY LAWN!
  3. That is horrible. I haven't cruised on RCI for awhile, but will in August. Don't they ask you before every meal whether you have food allergies? On my normal cruise line, it's actually annoyed me that they asked every.single.time. It won't bother me anymore.
  4. I just realized you aren't the OP. Therefore, my statement stands. 😁
  5. This is not correct based on our experience, but it's NCL. Whatever works, works. If it doesn't, you'll know.
  6. Gem was refurbished in 2022. But I don't know what that means as far as changing the bathtubs. I can only go on what I know is normal on other ships.
  7. Your only real concern is explaining at the end why it sucked to cruise during Spring Break. 😆
  8. Oh my. RCI doesn't have a "Chief Meteorologist". No one is watching the weather now. Abandon Ship, Abandon Ship!!
  9. I have never been on the Gem. But generally, if it's not a family club balcony, there is no bathtub.
  10. You can reprice as many times as you want before final payment. After final payment, you can do it once -- sometimes, depending on the CSS you talk to. I just assume after final payment, I'm locked in.
  11. Yes, I do empathize with the staff who have to explain why they let me in with running shoes instead of dress shoes. To honest, I don't care what other guests think of what I wear, just like I don't care what they wear.
  12. Yeah, no way you'll make that. Unless you're one of those people that walk in late, go all the way to the front, and piss off 900 other people. Don't be that person.
  13. It is amazing that this is debated in every cruise line forum I've visited. The consensus seems to be, wear what you want. If they kick you out (which they will rarely do), go change and come back.
  14. For sure. We are debating on getting Vibe for our Encore Panama Canal next April. Encore doesn't have Spice.
  15. Not to be snarky, but yes, that would help -- but then again, maybe not. It is NCL. 😄
  16. More info needed. What is the onboard time, and departure time?
  17. Yes, one costs extra, one doesn't. Otherwise, pretty much identical. As for the smoking, it's a very small area on the port side of the bar. No need to get anywhere near it.
  18. This thread is the reason I read CC. I applied two additional CN's to 2 cruises we have coming up. I never would have known it was available without this thread. Sure, I would have used them eventually, but I'm not one that likes cash stuffed under my mattress.
  19. This would be the wife's cup of tea, but she's not here. As for what she's told me, no hairdryers, no curling irons, but certain straightener's are allowed. I'm going to guess whatever she brings is going to be looked at carefully (a time delay) and will be allowed or disallowed based on who's looking at it. You can always call NCL -- good luck with that.
  20. Someday, in my dreams, I'll be in the Haven drinking Blue.
  21. I'm pretty sure you already know it's about $21/day to take the FAS drink package, so, if you want 2 drinks before 9:00, get the package. Unfortunately, it's that amount each day, even the sea days when you wouldn't need it. Guess you need to whip out the calculator. 🙂
  22. I was unclear. We never buy NCL, or any other insurance, for a single trip. We have annual insurance for the medical and evacuation coverage and use our travel credit card for trip cancellation/interruption.
