  1. Consider our advice but apply it to your dollar. If you drink more than 2 drinks a day, NCL is for you. If you want a couple gratuities-only specialty meals, NCL is for you. If you are a partier and want to be entertained every moment of every day and night, look at other options. Large, expensive production shows are on the wane with NCL. Others do better. The solo lounge, and solo cabin options (and cost) can be incredible, but not always. Research, research, research. It's your dollar, not ours. Happy cruising! (personal opinion: choose NCL)
  2. But, but, that's the point! What is the motive behind an OP? or a response to an OP? Do they simply want to know if their son can get a virgin drink? Or are they attempting to "find a scheme" to get around paying for their son's drink? Motive. Exactly. Feel free to join in.
  3. Welcome to the NCL family! They have some benefits that you wouldn't otherwise see until it actually puts money back in your pocket. Have a great cruise. (apologies, of course to our European cruisers)
  4. Did you try chat? I bet you didn't. 😉
  5. From experience, book MDR for the first night, for sure. It's a cluster. We didn't have more than a 5 to 10-minute wait at the MDR's after the first night. Also, if reservations aren't available online, use chat, or call. You will get them.
  6. No, I'm quite certain it was me. Unless someone had an issue with being called out for "mansplaining", which definitely wasn't me. Oh well. The inner workings here are as mysterious as the inner workings of NCL. 😆
  7. We're deck 10, midship starboard. Unlikely to get the same room steward. Thanks.
  8. Standard for a decade, sign or not. If you want towels replaced, put them on the floor. If they're hanging on the rack, they will stay there.
  9. Since you're back in the thread, would you be willing to post your cabin #? I like to be prepared.
  10. @julig22 Was it something we said? I'm going to blame the banana cargo ship anecdote.
  11. Perhaps you've stopped actually reading the threads over the last 70k posts. Understandable. Questions are always answered. But based on experience (which you obviously have), sometimes the motive is just as important as the question. Questioning the OP's motive is just as important as answering the question. Wouldn't you agree? It's certainly more fun.
  12. Heh, no, just a couple decimal points. 8,100,000,000 x .000001. You did say 99.9999 percent, right? I think it's getting way too late for this kinda math.
  13. So, 8100 people have it better than you? That's too bad. 😉
  14. Truth. Reading our cruise page on that site makes my head explode.
  15. I think you made a mistake. It should read, "No one should be racing go karts before drinking".
  16. Familiar with this -- someday I might get to use it. What happens if you haul all your luggage to this line, rather than leaving it with the porters?
  17. Wow. I'm just a few points short of you, and I've never.once.ever had a discussion with other passengers on a cruise about status level. Very odd.
  18. I didn't say they'd appreciate it, I said they'd accept it, as opposed to getting nothing. Which was my entire point in my comment that started this. Good grief. Reading comprehension, please. Maybe it was just an anecdote because you called me an ugly American? And couldn't a server in Europe do exactly that with my Ugly American tip in dollars? Too late.
  19. We're not being hostile; we just want more data points. What it is lately with all the snowflakes? Why are you so rude? Why are you so combative? Why are you so hostile? Why don't you just accept what I say as truth? Good grief, people. It's the Internet.
  20. Let me see if I understand you correctly. You believe that a server in the US would not accept a 20 Euro note as a tip? What do you think they'd do, throw it in the trash bin? Are you being serious, or intentionally obtuse?
  21. Correct facts, wrong conclusion. Panama will always allow whoever pays the most money. In most cases, that's a cruise ship.
  22. Status is status. I don't understand what you mean.
