  1. Thanks Ellipooh, a great plan, one Captain's Choice please!!
  2. Great comments As a first timer on majestic I can't find the sanctuary on the deck plans? Being in a penthouse do we have to pay for a padded lounger for each of the 12 mornings? If so, how much and can we do so before getting onboard or on the embarkation afternoon? On the Solstice ships we relaxed aft on the Terrace deck. I guess not so on the Majestic thanks Bob
  3. For Oct. 24 it shows a vocalist that pays tribute to Whitney Houston
  4. On Majestic next month. Anyone on her now? Is there a show first night? thanks Bob
  5. I booked flights yesterday through the AC website because of the 25% sale. I had to then talk to an AC agent due to a name change. I asked her if the price I booked at on the website included the 25% savings and she said yes
  6. Booked R604 on Majestic Is the balcony completely covered by the balcony above? Thanks bob
  7. We seem to always be on the sunny side of the ship when we had to muster at our lifeboat station before the rules changed. Packed in like sardines while sweating out our first drinks. Some newbies failed to show up and we had to stand stoically while crew looked for them. When we were released the elevators were jammed for at least 30 minutes. The new way is much more efficient!!
  8. What ship were you on for the Voyage of the Vikings? We left HAL in 2022 and jumped to Princess Solstice class of Ships because the Pinnacle class Hal ships did not have production shows due to the configuration of their main stage. They projected BBC shows on the wall. Shows that were viewable on your tv in your room. The main stage production shows on Princess are packed and you have to arrive early or stand against the walls. Our post cruise surveys to HAL were not complimentary in the entertainment part. We were with them exclusively since 2010 but mostly on the 2,100 SOB ships. Off to try Celebrity on a TA, hopefully their main stage shows will be lively too!! Bob
  9. Thanks for info, Terrace bar is a great place to sip a cocktail before dinner Bob the ancient Guy
  10. Just perused my Sapphire booking on the Princess website and for Specialty Restaurants it shows Sabatini's, Sterling Steak House, chef's table, Vines and Ultimate balcony Dinner. Their deck plans off their website shows on deck 6...Santa Fe. No reference to Sterling or Brazilian. Further perusal on the Princess app shows a Sterling steak house on deck 14 aft. Opening up my dinner reservation on the app I am booked into Churrascaria grill deck 14 aft. Assumption is Sterling is now Churrascaria Grill Their website is ancient like me!!
  11. Booked Sapphire Sterling Steakhouse many moons ago when papyrus was used instead of paper? Has the name changed to Santa Fe dining room? Ancient Guy
  12. Can you order anything on your pizza from Alfredos or is there a set menu? Thanks
  13. We rented a condo near St. Petes and decided to take a cruise out of Tampa . That area Tampa, St. Petes and Clearwater is suspectable to fog during late Jan. and Feb. We arrived at the terminal around 10am and noticed the thickening fog settle in. The ship was held off shore and we did not board till after 1:30pm The people on board were running down the gangway due to flights booked at the nearby airport. Cruising out of FLL since 2010 has never caused us a delay due to fog during that time oeriod.
  14. Eleven or twelve day fall cruises are offered and we have tried them all. As an avid cruiser who travels to FLL from Toronto we would like to try a 14 day without languishing in FLL rather than an island somewhere in the southern Caribe. Being treated badly as a "passenger in transit" (PIT) while wasting a day in FLL on our expensive seventh day is not a happy experience. This happens on each of our B&B. I would rather sit on a far off beach not gazing at a fuel barge and crates of eggs or lettuce being loaded all day. I will look at the Volendam ones next fall Bob
  15. A cruise originating in FLL and returning to FLL. Staying out in the islands without returning to FLL after 7 days. I am not advocating all fall cruises as such but try one and see if it fills up.
  16. Who would like to see at least one fall cruise that goes out for 14 days without a visit to FLL in the middle? bob
  17. We were on a back to back where the second week was over American Thanksgiving. As Canadians our Thanksgiving is one day not one long week. Never again will we travel during that week again. 400 boisterous youngsters flooded the ship the second week. What an eye opener. The aft pool and hot tubs which were an adult haven of tranquility the first languorous week were transformed into a raucous, screaming outdoor maelstrom during the last 7 long days.. A ships officer standing by the aft bar was powerless under the on slot of high pitched noise. The irony was while docked in Puerto Rico a large Carnival ship was ensconced next to us festooned with a roller coaster and rope climbing park.. 400 tearful faces were glued to this behemoth wondering why their parents stuck them on our ship of scooters and walkers when they could have been been shouting with joy on that floating amusement park!! A lesson learned and a disaster never to be repeated!! Bob
  18. We jumped ship from Holland to Princess 2 years ago. One of the reasons were the appalling BBC projected on the wall shows that were available on your cabin tv!! These were on their Pinnacle class ships. So far Princess has us entertained with far better shows. Bob
  19. We were in that suite last Oct. Every morning around 5:30 to 6am there was rumbling overhead I suspect the deck crew were rolling carts of towels or food on the deck above Bob
  20. Does HAL still project BBC shows on the wall on Pinnacle class ships?
  21. Two differences we noticed after 22 cruises on HAL and 4 cruises on Grand class ships of Princess were the main Stage shows and the length of cruises in the Caribbean. HAL's shows deteriorated since 2010 into repetitive and projected on the wall episodes versus various live artists on Princess. There were many cruises on HAL spent sitting in FLL on the seventh day of a 14 day cruise wishing we were at a Caribbean island instead watching more food, people and fuel being loaded. Princess does offer an occasional true 2 week sojourn around the warm seas south of Florida. We started on ships of 1900 sobs and have no desire to sail on the new behemoths being launched now. Bob
  22. Me too, the second cruise I looked at the floor. Next year I didn't go when the daily news said a BBC show was going to be on. Then we heard through friends that Princess had production shows, tribute singers and vocalists. We jumped ship vowing not to return til the snakes and similar ilk are gone!! Bob PS...we do enjoy the Princess main stage shows immensely
