  1. I recommend that you add your email to your signature line (as I have done) and let readers know you welcome their email correspondence.
  2. My very well-connected TA placed a courtesy hold three days ago. She said the $100 admin fee is no longer converted to a future cruise credit if you cancel. The Black Friday prices are fantastic. I thought that low, low price would be applicable to a 0% single supplement cruise that I am looking at: July 25, 2020 Reykjavík to London on Splendor. Unless I can find a companionable female to share a state room with me, I will have to let it expire. I’ve asked all my girlfriends and no one is available. if anyone has any suggestions for me, my email is in my signature line
  3. Good point, however, I think in this case that travel insurance would not reimburse a passenger that canceled due to the current situation. Two reasons: 1, travel insurance does not cover war, declared or undeclared. And 2, this cruise has not been canceled. unfortunately, my understanding is that is pretty standard for US travel insurance policies.
  4. HaHa, yes, agree! Well, maybe that’s part of the new changes……. Thx! Ppl need to double (and triple!) check.
  5. I expect that anyone who sails on the itinerary cannot then file a dispute with their cc company.
  6. Unless I have misunderstood you, I do not think this is correct. You can receive the book onboard benefits by booking your next cruise up to 30 days prior to sailing, but after you leave the ship, you will not be able to get the book on board benefits.
  7. Since you booked on board, you have a price match guarantee. If in the future, your itinerary goes on sale, you will most likely qualify to get the lower price. I think your best bet is to hold onto your reservation patiently. On the other hand, if you decide you prefer a different itinerary, you can make a change once with no fee.
  8. I think you need to “sign in” or “log on” before you can move forward through the booking process. They want you to create an account and to log into your account. Don’t have to give them your real name but you do need a working email address. …… I hope this helps.
  9. There are likely security measures that we will never know about - they won’t be published or known in advance. A link to an article about the hijacked cargo ship IIRC, mentioned that the Suez Canal transit will be made at night….. Given all your informed sources (versus uninformed/misinformed Americans), I’m surprised you thought the area was stable enough and would remain stable enough for you to join this cruise …… voluntarily I might add…. I hope you got a GOOD discount!
  10. It’s the same as for other cruiselines…… What problems are you having?
  11. The worst Regent suite is GREAT......unless you're on Shake-inator, I mean Navigator. I LOVE to cruise solo on Regent! It's the best experience I've had since cruising solo (Uniworld, Emerald, Oceania and Regent). I look for the 0% or 25% SS cruises.....my next cruise is 0% SS on Voyager, Buenos Aires to San Antonio, Chile this February. I CAN'T WAIT! Besides Navigator, all other Regent ships are all-suite (no OV, no insides).
  12. I will go on my currently booked O cruises (except for the 2025 HolyLands cruise I booked THREE DAYS before this all kicked off). I have a Norway O cruise in August 2024, and a Tokyo to Vancouver booked in 2025. That might be it........we'll see.
  13. This is a big reason why we/I don't cruise with X anymore. Couldn't get served! I hope the explanation for your observation has to do with how many drinkers were seated in your area.........hopefully??! Did people look around (frowning!) trying to catch the attention of a wine steward?
  14. Champagne is a wine! Included in SM during lunch/dinner in food venues. Enjoy your cruise!
  15. Boogie& Kashia are my favorites! From now on, I just book Mariner. Sigh
  16. Mrstanley! I LIVE FOR BOOGIE & KASHIA! My favorites! Sigh
  17. I was on Mariner a year ago and I thought she was SPLENDID! I had a great cruise!
  18. Bless your heart! So many questions. Good for you! I think you will get answers soon from experienced Regent cruisers. That’s not me. I’ve been on 1 Regent cruise so far, and am anxiously awaiting my next in February - so excited! I had a GREAT time on my first, and I’m confident my second will be just as great! Enjoy your cruise!
  19. In November last year, my cruise stopped at Manta and our tour included a stop at the archeological museum Hojas Jaboncillo. Here’s the writeup I did. Today’s very interesting excursion is to an archaeological site called Cerro Jaboncillo. First, we went inside a small museum with exhibits. A very short and tiny local woman took us through the museum and explained everything in Spanish. She was very sweet and I liked her a lot. Our excursion guide translated her explanations to English. I sometimes helped him with the more difficult words. After our tour of the museum we walked up a hill to three different sites where indigenous buildings were re-created. In one of the buildings, life-size statues of elders (male & female) seated in a semicircle were displayed. A distinguishing feature of the locals was a beak shaped nose, noticeable in this picture of an elder. Our guide described the lifestyle of the locals prior to the arrival of the Spanish. Not everyone made it all the way to the top of the very steep hill. When we got back to the port, the bus dropped us off at the terminal and there were some nice stalls with some interesting handicrafts available for sale. But the ship was going to sail within an hour so I didn’t want to spend a lot of time at the port. I did find some earrings that I thought would make a nice present. I bought four pair.
  20. Luggage Free is another option I’ve heard of. Also, perhaps post on your cruise line roll call or forum……?
