  1. I can’t be bothered to read anything on the celebrity boards. I am a refugee from celebrity.😜
  2. Yipes. I see that on their website. I’m flying Lufthansa to Frankfurt in less than 2 weeks.
  3. I think that was pre-Covid. I’m seeing many itineraries with availability in all of the Veranda and Concierge categories, and even some with availability in penthouse. Especially if you are looking at 2023 when most FCC’s will have expired.
  4. Could you please provide a link to your source for this information. I believe this contradicts other information I have received elsewhere.
  5. I am a solo traveler and I just booked the November Mariner LA to Lima itinerary. Last year on Oceania’s November transatlantic on Riviera, O did a great job organizing and hosting a great solo group, and we had a blast. So I am wondering if solo travelers are called social travelers on Regent. Many thanks - am VERY excited!
  6. Lately I have been finding low single supplements of 25% on Regent cruiseline. They have a long list of itineraries with less than 100% single supplement. Many are at 50%, but I currently have two booked at 25% single supplement. One is for November this year (LA to Lima) and one is for February 2024 (Chile to Buenos Aires). Regent is a luxury all inclusive line. Business air included for international flights.
  7. I placed a courtesy hold on a 16 night cruise with a 25% single supplement. I’m talking to Regent directly, as my TA seems to be out sick. Regent said that I will not earn additional reward nights for my single supplement price. I pushed back and asked him to confirm that. When I look online, I only find information saying that solo passengers paying 75% single supplement will accrue double reward nights. Does anyone have a direct source that can point me to something in writing that says a 25% single supplement will still get me additional reward nights? thanks either way.
  8. On transatlantic last year on Riviera, every night there was live music and dancing in horizons after the show. Timing coincides with two for one happy hour, so I rarely missed it. Lots of dancing to great live music. Different music genres on different nights. Very talented musicians, lots of fun. Horizons often had a good turn out, with a full bar and many tables with passengers. Four or five entertainment staff, including the associate social director were dancing nonstop (it seemed). This made it really easy for anyone who so desired to also dance. Couples danced and solos danced. Great fun! other than that, I agree that the nightlife is very sedate.
  9. I (think) know the answer to this one. Once you step on board, you will attain your diamond status. Anyway, someone more experienced I’m sure will chime in.
  10. I have booked four or five cruises with my TA. Generally, she’s as responsive as everyone has described here. Lately, she’s not answering my friendly text messages. Been about two weeks now that I haven’t heard from her, so actually I am worried. I haven’t asked her anything urgent, but this is very different behavior from her. I am worried. Soon I will pick up the phone and call ……..
  11. Hmmm. So, I’m booked on a 19-day cruise in Feb 2024, but I’m in a low stateroom category on a 25% single supplement. Will I have bronze or silver reward status on this cruise, and does that mean I will get priority booking for excursions? This will be my first cruise on Regent. I appreciate your insights!
  12. Since you are working with a TA, protocol is that you work with your TA who, in turn, is your advocate at Oceania. Are they not responding to your TA in a timely manner?
  13. I can’t recommend booking a cruise on emerald. Plenty of complaints here on cruise critic about their complete lack of customer service or communication. Even if your cruise is wonderful, you have 6 - 12 months or more of radio silence. Travel agents and customers spend hours, literally hours on hold. Little to no information available on their website. Avoid avoid!
  14. If you are not going to go on the included excursions, may I suggest you contemplate sailing with sister-line Oceania. Similar to Regent quality but has more of an à la cart pricing structure. I’m looking forward to my South American cruise on Regent in early 2024!
  15. Perhaps the avid travelers have switched to land programs.
  16. I’ve noticed a drop off here on O’s main thread. Last year when we didn’t know when cruising would restart from month to month, and later in the year when cruising had restarted, this main O thread was hopping. These days I barely can find half an hour worth of reading, and don’t post as often. it could also be that there are a lot of repetitive threads asking about Olife, etc. and that gets boring……
  17. I’m hearing noises about a lawsuit that would stop the US government from requiring mandatory testing to fly into the US. Hope the lawsuit prevails, so perhaps testing to return to the US will disappear soon. Also, some EU countries have stopped requiring quarantine if you test positive. Those countries have “moved on.” So, spend some extra time in your disembarkation city until you retest negative and can fly home. At least some of the costs will be covered by your travel insurance.
  18. I know Iowananny and her husband as I have cruised with them and have spent time with them over several days. They are both well behaved, nice people and do not mistreat others. Their experience is what they have related here. I believe her words, as I believe the words of others. Not everyone had a good experience, and for that I am sorry.
  19. I am very pleased that you were well treated! However, I am very concerned that not everyone has received the same treatment.
  20. In my book, itin over cabin, but food is trump!
  21. Things certainly have changed in the last few weeks. Just wanted to ask again if anyone has any information about testing requirements for countries along the Danube. I have looked on Emerald‘s website, which has not been updated since December of last year as far as I could tell. Lufthansa‘s website was not clear either. My current understanding is there is no testing required to fly into Frankfurt, Germany. I still don’t know if emerald will require me to provide a negative test prior to embarkation in Prague. Any intel is appreciated!
  22. I’m not sure anyone on cruise critic would know how to answer this hypothetical question.
  23. Iowananny, I am so sorry you went through this. How awful, and reception should be better trained so you are not treated like this. Unacceptable!
