  1. Why does O advertise and market a service they know or should know cannot be provided?
  2. As MEFIowa mentioned, just be careful about which flavor of OBCs.... The excursion credits cannot be used for anything besides excursions.....and if your excursion gets canceled, you must find another excursion to use them or lose them. Hence, try to schedule usage of your excursion credits early in the voyage to avoid possibly losing them if an excursion later in the voyage is canceled. Enjoy your cruise!
  3. I’m thinking the cities in Honshu and Kyushu will still be cold in March especially at night). I have a resy on another cruise line for Tokyo to Vancouver that embarks in Tokyo in late April. I prefer Regent, but I don’t like cold weather. Brrr!
  4. I think my only concern about an unassigned guarantee room is if I was booking on Navigator. And, since I cruise solo, I generally am booking the lowest level which generally doesn’t come w the best location. On Navigator, you have to be very careful about your room assignment (as I understand it) because some rooms have very significant vibration issues. This disturbs some passengers more than others. So, I might not agree to a guarantee on Navigator. OTOH, if I want to cruise on one of its itineraries, I might have to “find the courage!”
  5. I greatly appreciate your response! I hope to meet you onboard someday! Thx!
  6. @tobique33040, I’d be interested to know your opinion on the wine list. Thx!
  7. I felt that some readers might get the wrong impression from your post, and then be offended or upset if they are not able to get their cruise repriced at a lower sale price. So, better to say “ Oceania might honor the change in price before full payment.” I agree, its always worth asking!
  8. Not always. It depends on several factors, one of which is whether your cabin category is still available or sold out.
  9. Thx very much for this. I hadn’t remembered to put Azamara on my possibles list. The 2024 Norway intensive cruise on Oceania I am trying to replace doesn’t list the SS special and the price I’m seeing is the same as my Oceania Sirena cruise which includes premium economy air for the same price Azamara lists. I don’t think Azamara’s price includes airfare. It looks like the SS % is still 125% or 150%. Any, I’ll keep looking, thx!
  10. Thank you. My next travel hot spots are: Norwegian coastline (in high summer), Japan/Japan/Japan!, and anywhere my new Regent Mariner besties want to go….. I think I’d also like to do a history-focused land tour of Roman UK, (Bath, Londinium, Hadrian’s wall, etc). And I loved Scotland. Northern Europe is great in August when Texas ISN’T! So, EU river cruises aren’t at the top of my destination list (at the moment). Thx again!
  11. EU river cruise. Have done 4 - loved them all.
  12. I am so sorry to hear this. I would also be very disappointed. Ridiculous to offer a service unavailable in the country you are going to. What’s up with that? Did I misunderstand the issue?
  13. I LOVE BOOGIE & KASIA! I am their biggest fan 🥰. Just finished reading all the complaints about non-functioning toilets on Mariner, but I would book Mariner again if I was sure they’d be on board. (I loved my Nov 2022 LA to Lima cruise on Mariner- in spite of a few hiccups). IMG_7577.mov
  14. Here’s a better link to the Magical Mystery Cruise! https://www.oceaniacruises.com/africa-cruises/barcelona-to-cape-town-RVA241114/?sr=%2Fcruise-finder%23time_frame%3D2024-11%26ship%3DRVA%26sort%3Dfeatured%3Adesc%26page%3D1%26pageSize%3D10
  15. Just window shopping….. but I found the most amazing cruise! While traveling from Barcelona to Cape town along the west coast of Africa, Riviera’s Nov 14, 2024 itinerary will traverse the Suez Canal! Amazing……not! https://www.oceaniacruises.com/special-offers/holiday
  16. I don’t think it’s expected. I consider myself a generous tipper, and I don’t tip them anything. Many times I’m not in the room when they bring some thing, so I don’t even see them. I guess I don’t use the butler very much, besides breakfast and evening canapés.
  17. There are other butlers who cover while your butler is off duty. You don’t see them much at all.
  18. I don’t recall tipping anything. Last time I was on O I was in a penthouse, and tipped the butler (who delivers the room service) at the end of the cruise. Others will jump in if I’ve forgotten anything….
  19. Thank you for your post. The expensive part was implied in my comment that UK passengers pay for that.
  20. Yes. UK passengers affected by the recent Holyland conflict/war received cash refunds without having to raise a fuss. It’s one of the protections that all UK passengers pay for. No judgement good or bad. It is what it is, and UK pax pay for that. Not saying it’s bad…..
