  1. OP has posted on the Oceania forum that they have decided to go with celebrity. We all hope they enjoy their cruise.
  2. The pictured shoes look great for the main dining room.
  3. You’re forgetting Waves, which is on the pool deck and is more casual. I also responded on the O thread specifically with a recent Voyager cruise where a well-behaved 10 or 12-year old was very well received. Depends on so many factors..
  4. It can be used for shore Excursions for sure.
  5. Agree with Shepherdreally and disagree with halfapair.
  6. I was on a 17 day voyage in February on a Regent ship with a lot of sea days. I only saw one 12-year-old child. He was the son of guest lecturers on the ship, and they were traveling with his grandmother, who only spoke German. My trivia team adopted him, and he really added a lot to our experience. The maximum size for trivia teams is six, and we had six before he joined our team. No one complained that we had “too many” on our team. He was such a cute young man, generally well-behaved, unless he had consumed too much sugar. A few afternoons, he was very twitchy and rambunctious. But we all loved him. I think he was quite the mascot wherever he went on the ship. And let me just say that, although this was not on an Oceania cruise ship, Regent skews very old as well. When I was about 10 years old, my family traveled internationally, including on a cruise ship. We were pretty wild, not well-behaved like most of these children you are hearing about, but the international travels really had an impact on me (hopefully for the better).
  7. Some people are willing to pay for convenience. Others can DIY.
  8. Its the opposite. They could pay half of those quoted rates if booking directly. Enjoy your cruise!
  9. Yuch! Played with crayfish in the “coolies” (open-air concrete rainwater drainage system) while in Lafayette LA during my childhood. Won’t eat them ever! (We called them crawdads).
  10. Aren’t sandals by definition open toed, at least mostly (definitionally speaking)….🤣 Mostly JK!
  11. Any cruises focused on pension accounting? I’m totally going to apply! PS. My dissertation was on pension accounting reform……
  12. I’ve read that world cruisers bring LOTS of toiletries, cosmetics, etc. Boxes and boxes! Again, stewards are ready for this and can offer you off-stateroom storage. After all, you only need 1 tube of toothpaste at a time. Ditto, shampoo, etc.
  13. Maybe Eastern Orthodox?
  14. This Austin gal always asks for Tito‘s!!!
  15. Although I have never been on a world cruise, I have read posts from other people who have discussed their experiences. One of the tips was to store out of season/extra clothing in your suitcases, which the stewards will store for you. They will return these items to you whenever you wish. Of course, you also have room under your bed, but it’s quite normal for World cruisers to have lots of baggage. You don’t need storage in your state room for 180 days worth of clothes. I’ll bet free laundry comes included in the price, I hope? Enjoy your cruise!
  16. Also, you could reach out by email to posters who include their contact information in their signature, in case you would like to further the discussion.
  17. I recall, you have mentioned in the past that the Travel Agent topic never came up when you were on board. I would encourage you to make another attempt on your next cruise. It’s not necessary to ask someone how much they paid for their cruise, just let them know you’re looking for a good travel agent, and do they know one they can recommend to you. Also, good to ask why do they like their travel agent. Not everyone uses a travel agent, and some people are not satisfied with their travel agent that they are using, but most people are eager to support their travel agent by passing along recommendations to new customers like you. Good luck.
  18. I definitely remember GF cookies offered multiple times in multiple venues. Shall we start a “cookie” thread?🫢
  19. IIRC, every sailing I have been on included non denominational services every Sunday.
  20. I miss Boogie & Kashia SO MUCH! (from Mariner)
  21. I’m boarded Voyager in Buenos Aires in February. The embarkation dock was changed a few days before prior to embarkation. I received an email with all the information needed for the new location. Enjoy your cruise!
  22. Your transfer (by coach bus) from the ship to the airport can/will include several stops along the way to the airport, like an excursion. This option is provided to pax with later flights. Only you (and your husband and perhaps his doctor) can decide if he is healthy enough to travel.
  23. Too late - “that ship has sailed” and isn’t coming back. Hope I’m wrong, but don’t think that I am. The accountants hate those “low revenue” pax. SM is a way to get even those “cheapskates” to pay more (all in the service of the debt!).
