  1. We find just getting down to a lower deck and sit somewhere in the middle of the ship makes a big difference. We have twice been in a high veranda stateroom on the aft and we definitely have to get out of the room and hunker down on a lower deck during the day.
  2. We are on these same segments as you are only we are starting with the one before this beg on Oct 3 in Honolulu. We too have already spent extra time in Sydney pre pandemic and have been on excursions to both the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, have also been to Manly and attended a musical at the Opera House. We are doing the short Tasmania Cruise in lieu of getting a hotel room for 4 nights in Sydney. We did not want to have to pack up all our things and lug them off the ship and back on again and unpack once again so for us it’s more of a convenience factor. Mary
  3. We have booked a B2B for July of next year on the Apex. Since we booked this last Nov while cruising we were fortunate to be able to get a Sunset veranda for both of them. Plan to be up on top a good share of the time and also just enjoy that aft view. We are very much forward to this cruise.
  4. I’ll second that it is a long walk to the sunset verandas. We just had one a few weeks ago on a B2B. Our veranda was right next door to one of the sky suites. For the price our veranda was almost the same size and when we took a glance into the stateroom next door when it was being cleaned it was not all that different from ours for the price. Well maybe slightly bigger! But it did cost them a lot more. Yes they got to use the retreat deck which was no doubt really nice when we couldn’t even find a lounger in the shade. We are very happy with the SV’s.
  5. We were just there on Feb 1st on the Beyond. We also had a wonderful tour with Dora. There were 8 of us in our group which was a perfect size. You will enjoy the tour. They are a great company to work with. We have been to Cartegena twice now and toured both times with her company.
  6. We’re doing the same thing. We are also wondering what the process will be there. Do we physically have to get off for Immigration. We will be changing rooms and we know do how that process goes.
  7. We’re on the Beyond in a Subset Veranda and have one. It’s in the cabinet that opens outside the bathroom.
  8. We were just on the Eclipse in Nov/Dec b2b2b and she is in fine form. Very lovely lady matter of fact. It was the staff that made her special. No problems with the food and we certainly did not go away hungry. We ate all our dinners except one in the dining room and the same table. We liked the location. . The staff were all wonderful. Please take some of the negative reviews with a grain of salt. Some people are just hard to please.
  9. Charla I love following along with you. We are currently on the Beyond and were just in Bonaire yesterday. Definitely on the hot side down here.
  10. We too had a wonderful tour with Dora’s Company. (2/1/2024). There were eight of us in our group formed from our roll call. We had Josie for our tour director and Juan who was our driver who professionally navigated all the tight narrow traffic congested streets in comfortable a Mercedes air conditioned van. Josie was very professional and fun and shared her culture and country with us. We enjoyed having her. The view from La Popa was beautiful looking toward the City. We had a nice tour of the Monestary and a peak into the chapel as Mass was in progress. We had a wonderful walking tour around the Old Walled City which is very beautiful. This is a great private tour company and the second time we have toured with them. Highly recommend. I finally met Dora in one of the shops. She is quick to answer emails with all my questions. If you want to book one of her great yours book her early. They are a small company and in demand.
  11. Yes they will. That us what we are using on our tour this week and what we have used in the past
  12. We just got off the Ascent this am. We saw you sail away from our hotel on FL Beach this afternoon
  13. In the past we have booked a Sky suite and taken our two grandchildren ages 7&8 with us and it worked great under this promotion.
  14. We’re on the same cruise as you are now. Loving the Ascent and seeing some of the crew we sailed with on the Beyond. Wondered why Voyger arrived at Cozumel so late. Really hoping Grand Cayman is a go with the tenders.
  15. We’re paying $85 per person plus tip and we have 8 in our group. They only take cash.
  16. Beautiful photos. Enjoying your commentary on the Edge experience as you cruise along. Sure hope our weather later in the year in November is as beautiful as yours is. Have a wonderful cruise.

  18. One area Celebrity could do better is to educate the Al Bacio staff. #1 There were gluten free cakes and cookies available but on several occasions they were in the same case as the rest. For someone seriously celiac it can be no where near the other cakes. #2 gluten free cookies were in their own cookie jar but do staff use the same tongs to get them as they do the other cookies? I saw a woman order both kinds of cookies and the server asked if he could put them in the same bag as the other cookies? NO was her answer! I realize it’s a fad for some to eat gluten free but others have a much serious reaction to something that has been cross contaminated. I just kept an eye open as we will be traveling with our extremely sensitive Celiac daughter next year.
  19. Thanks for your review. Were very excited. Flying to Fort Lauderdale on Friday for our cruise next Sunday. Expecting everything will be wonderful. Coming from the snowy NW the weather will be especially wonderful.
  20. I believe the coffee shops call it a steamer. Instead of say a vanilla or hazelnut steamer etc just tell them you want a plain steamer. You could order it with oatmilk or almond milk if you wanted. You will need to go to Al Bacio to get it.
  21. Last April we switched ships on a transatlantic. We originally had a very nice Sunset Veranda. When our travel buddies canceled before final payment we switched from the Apex to the Beyond and at that late date there were no Sunset Verandas available. All that was left were Infinite Verandas so that was what we had. We already knew we would have a wonderful time and went in with an open mind. We ended up liking it far more than we thought we would and no longer have any hesitation on booking another one. The large window opened wide. We could sit next to it and it made the room larger and brighter. We were pleasantly surprised.
  22. Keep in mind that when sending out laundry it will go in with a large load that contains bags from many others. The machines are huge. It will also be washed in hot water and dried hot. So if it’s anything that shrinks BEWARE. They do not pay any attention to your little notes. Something’s are best washed in your own sink.
  23. We take our own tests with us. I don’t think it’s that Celebrity no longer cares they just leave it up to you to take your own precautions whatever you choose them to be. Rarely see masks any more but on our last couple of cruises we were starting to see more. Last Spring we were on an excursion and there were a group of 4 who were traveling together hacking their lungs out on the bus. We quickly whipped out our masks along with the folks in front of us. We managed to escape. We have to this day had every vaccination possible. Definitely think it is still the responsible thing to do with symptoms is to take yourself out of public circulation and keep a distance from more crowded places.
  24. Its sounds like your mind is made up. That’s why there are many classes to choose from. There really is no comparison as they are different classes and different sizes and of course different ages. What’s interesting is that there is now a number of frequent cruises on here who are going back to the Solstice Class having had their fill of the E class.
  25. I second that to book a less expensive stateroom on the Beyond. Or if you can possibly wait until after Easter when there is less demand and more choices. In the other hand if $$ are not an issue go for it!!
