  1. There is a Residence Inn (by Marriott) on Astronaut Blvd less than a mile from the entrance to the port. We have stayed there before and enjoyed it….
  2. If you don’t use all your vouchers at the end of the evening use them to get bottles of water or unopened bottles of beer, etc and take it back to your room and store in your refrigerator.
  3. In May we were on the Mariner the first week that masks became optional so of course 99% of us didn’t wear one. Two days after getting home I tested positive for Covid. Since we don’t fly we assume it was from the ship. In July we boarded the Harmony and I wore my N95 mask while standing in the line for checkin, in the terminal, on elevators and anywhere I wasn’t going to be able to distance from others……. I did not get covid. Maybe a coincidence or just lucky I am not sure, but we board the Harmony next Sunday and I will be bringing my N95’s again for sure!!!!😎😎
  4. If you want a cool eclectic play to eat and have a few drinks try Preacher Bar next door to the Radisson. Really cool place with really good food!! check out their reviews on Trip Advisor…
  5. A lot of the hotels in the area offer this service. The hotels closest to the port (less than a mile) that I would recommend are: *Hampton Inn Cruise Port/Home2Suites *Homewood Suites *Springhill Suites *Residence Inn *Country Inn & Suites ****for years we stayed at the Radisson but I can no longer recommend as it has become very dated. And we had several different “situations” that made us seek newer and better places to stay****
  6. I know for certain in Canaveral you can no longer “check” a case of water. Any water, soda, wine, etc…..must be carried on…..
  7. These tests can be used because Royal accepts results from other online companies who will proctor all type of test kits… Onpoint Rapid Test and Trace
  8. Yesterday we picked up 8 covid test kits (per person) from CVS and they billed Medicare. They said under this program you are eligible for 8 test kits….per month….per person!! 😳
  9. After Sept, 5th the test no longer have to be proctored unless you are sailing from a US port and visiting Bermuda or Canada
  10. The 24hr health questions have been removed from the check in process. They were replaced by 3 questions about whether or not you have been vaxed……and those questions can be answered at least a month ahead of time. These were removed at the same time the step to download your vaccination card disappeared…..
  11. We were on the Harmony last month and they were checking. They had lines set up for 10:30, 11:00, 11:30 and 12:00. All others were sent to the side to wait and there were quite a few!! I had a 10:30 checkin so not sure what happened after we got through…
  12. I hope they leave it as optional for the crew. We spoke to several on the Harmony last month and they were not so anxious to give them up due to the vast amount of people they are exposed to weekly….
  13. In Canaveral the porters will no longer put a tag on a case of water. They stopped doing that before covid… Water, soda, wine, etc you bring it must be carried on only…
  14. The Royal app will not allow you to send and receive texts or calls from home. It is for onboard purposes only. we also have AT&T and purchase the WiFi pkg. you can then put your phone on airplane mode (VERY important), turn on WiFi calling and we can then use our phone to text and call just like we were at home….
  15. In Tampa you can pay a small fee ($20 I think) and you can do valet parking. You will be able to pull right into the terminal area and they will park your car for you and then have it waiting on you when you get off the ship. So well worth the money and you can go ahead and pre-pay for it online!! Highly recommended!!!
  16. This is our #1 favorite place to stay!!
  17. There is a service station I think it’s a Race Track a block away. They have a decent selection of wine…. I just Googled the law for Brevard County and it looks like they can sell alcohol any time on Sundays
  18. We stayed at the Hampton Inn Brickell and enjoyed it very much. Very safe and clean area and within walking distance to shops and restaurants
  19. I agree!!! I have an expensive year old bleached out swimsuit to prove it!!!😂😂
  20. It’s going to be a mess!! Glad I am not getting off or on a cruise ship that morning!!
  21. The hotel’s closest to the port (about a mile) that I would recommend are: *Hampton Inn Cruise Port/Home2Suites *Homewood Suites *Springhill Suites *Residence Inn *Country Inn & Suites ***several have mentioned the Radisson. We stayed there for a number of years but now “in my opinion” it is very dated and the reviews are no longer good on Trip Advisor. Plus we had several situations that happened there that caused us to seek nicer and new places****
  22. No they will have to do it. Give Crown & Anchor a call 1-800-526-9723
  23. Rooms are not ready until 1:00pm or so and until that time you are not supposed to enter the hallway to drop off luggage or anything else. Will they stop you??? Maybe….maybe not….but if everyone did this the poor stewards would never get their rooms turned around. Please don’t break this rule…..
  24. They definitely checked in Canaveral last month….
