  1. Anyone know what brand of wines are being offered for Chardonnay, Cabernet or Merlot? Assuming the Elegance for Chard and Cab. Like several of you, we are doing a casino cruise after having had AI on several cruises. The worst part will be we usually start our evening late. Will have to get ready early if we’re going to make the most of the cocktail hour. 🤣
  2. Interesting. I was going to check Saturday as we would then be 21 days out. However, it loses it’s appeal for me as we’re in a Concierge already with no perks and wouldn’t get the drink package, gratuities, etc.
  3. Same for us in August and October 2021.
  4. We had Sue as the CD on four cruises on the Summit last summer and fall. Perhaps it had to do with the fact there were fewer people on board, but we found her very warm and personable. She went out of her way to make sure plenty was going on in an effort to keep the ship from feeling too empty. She asked us to join her for lunch one day.
  5. Meant to say I did not ask for the hold. I’m sure she was just trying to protect the pricing, but this has caused problems for me in the past.
  6. Had this happen as well. TA put a cabin on hold last night and today I got the email. MS for 12-2 Ruby. I had asked her to place the hold and asked her to release it this morning. We’re still exploring our options.
  7. Has Princess dropped the booster requirement for the full transit? Seems they made a change 9/14, but I want to make sure I understand it.
  8. Sailed on the Summit five cruises last summer and fall. Can’t say enough good things about it. She has been completely renovated, just beautiful. Fantastic food and service. The Move Up process opens 21 days before sailing and you might be able to get a balcony upgrade for not a lot of money.
  9. We have a Hertz car reserved in October from SNA dropping off by the Crowne Plaza where we are staying for two nights pre-cruise.
  10. May I ask how you plan to get from the ship to the airport?
  11. Yes. Called as we had been on several Celebrity cruises lately. DH is not a big gambler, but plays quite a bit. He qualified.
  12. Well, every cruise line call center is under staffed. When the call is first answered you should get two options, 1 for new bookings and 2 for existing reservations. After selecting option 2, I was on hold for about 30 minutes to make my cabin upgrade. The rep was very helpful.
  13. Interesting. We were on the Equinox earlier in July, but had the drink package so DH wouldn’t have known if they were giving free drinks just for gambling.
  14. You got one of the sweet ones. We had the same type on the Summit for four cruises last summer and fall. We’ve been spoiled!
  15. We are sailing on the Solstice in October on a casino deal so no drink package. I have two questions. Is the Captain’s Cocktail hour available in all bars? Can you upgrade to premium drinks during the cocktail hour? Appreciate it.
  16. Glad you got things squared away. I feel extremely grateful for this trip.
  17. Agree with others if it’s $141 for the cruise go for it. You also get a bottle of sparkling wine and hot breakfast menu. Plus the Concierge cabins on the Equinox have been redecorated. Much brighter decor.
  18. Not sure I want to share. 😁. In general, we like the mid-ship angled balconies on Deck 10. This time we got 1231, but they all offer oversized balconies, excellent overhang for weather protection, convenient to the pool and Oceanview Cafe. Also, next to some suites, so we’ve had some excellent cabin stewards. I have not heard of anyone else being asked for a $500 deposit. We initially paid $284, then the upgrade cost today. Sounds like you need to ask some more questions.
  19. Called this morning and upgraded to Concierge for $10pp/day. Was able to select our favorite cabin. On hold for about 30 minutes, which I considered pretty good.
  20. Late last year and earlier this year they had $5 tables in the day on sea days. That seemed to stop in April.
  21. Appreciate all the information. Found well priced flights in and out of SNA. Leaving Austin at 8:00 am the day before the cruise on SW for just under $100. On AA at 2:45 pm disembarkation day for $80. Think we’ll stay at the Crowne Plaza by the harbor for the night. Have a free night available. 😁
