  1. We didn't get to the glacier in May on Quantum either because of the ice. If we book this cruise again, I would consider booking the excursion that goes to the face of the glacier and then heads to Juneau where they rejoin the ship. It was pricey but I think it would be a cool experience.
  2. Northstar is an excursion when you are at the glacier and can be booked through your cruise planner. If I remember correctly, it was around $50pp this past May for an extended ride that went over the side of the ship.
  3. Hydrogen peroxide is cheap and you will not be out a lot of money if they confiscate it, so worth a shot if you feel the need to wipe down your cabin. Personally, if I was going to wipe down the whole cabin, I would look for a hospital grade wipe that would be easy to pack, easy to use and easy to dispose of instead of trying to mix something on the ship. Bleach is deadly if mixed with the wrong chemical, so they do not want that brought on the ship.
  4. Bleach is on the prohibited list, it will likely be confiscated. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/prohibited-items-onboard-policy
  5. I am just starting to watch it now. Just spent two hours snow blowing and shoveling. Nice week for my DH to go away on a business trip.
  6. @Ocean Boy Have you seen the video Below Deck put out today with highlights for the rest of the season? Looks interesting! Definitely contains some spoilers, so viewer beware! https://www.bravotv.com/below-deck/season-10/videos/still-to-come-on-season-10-of-below-deck
  7. We have been on a ship with a noro outbreak before and if you are in a cabin in close proximity to a cabin with someone who has norovirus, your cabin gets deep cleaned during the cruise. We came back to our cabin to pick something up we forgot and our cabin steward had just finished wiping down every flat surface with a disinfecting solution. The walls were wet and dripping, the bureau, vanity, wardrobes, entire bathroom and every other surface were all wet. Every time we came back to our cabin, the door handle was wet and all the railings in the passageway were wet and dripping. We saw men in hazmat suits cleaning one cabin under the supervision of the housekeeping officer. All cabins that had someone quarantined were marked with a sticker above the door. We were told all cabins were being deep cleaned after the sailing.
  8. Butchart Garden is closed for two weeks, reopening February 6th. As far as the OP question, Stanley Park is a great area to visit and the public market on Granville Island is another of our favorites.
  9. Thanks, Dani. 🙂 I decided to take a step back from posting for a while, kind of like a dry January but giving up posting instead of alcohol. 😄 We have no cruises booked for the first time in a very long time. We have looked at a few but the prices are crazy and airfares are as bad. I hope to book something soon if I can find a price and a cabin I like. As far as the name, reallyitsmema, I used to play on an online gaming site under the name Itsme. Not too creative with names, but it worked. When I joined a different site, that name was taken so I tried Reallyitsme, which was also taken. I added the MA for Massachusetts, which is where we live and Reallyitsmema was available. Over the years, it has morphed into people calling me Mema because it is shorter to type. Thanks again for thinking of me. Happy belated 50th anniversary to you and your husband! I did see the wonderful pictures you posted of your trip. 🙂
  10. I am glad you were able to get the documents you needed to get on the ship. In our house, we have a rule that the car doesn't leave the driveway until the passports are physically produced in the car. My son used to roll his eyes at me every time I would pull them out of the passport holder in the car and verify we had the right ones, not the expired ones but it works for us! Now if I can just get my DH to hold onto his phone and wallet we will be all set. He lost his phone the day before one cruise and we were lucky enough to find it on the floor, under a table at a restaurant we had eaten at an hour prior. Another time he dropped his wallet in the cab that dropped us off at Embassy Suites in Fort Lauderdale the night before a cruise. Luckily, he remembered the phone number on the cab and I remembered the cab number as it was printed on the headrest in front of me on our ride to the hotel. Dispatch was able to send the cab back and wallet was still on floor as he had not had another fare when he left us. Nice tip to that driver. We would have still been able to sail as I had the passports and I carry different credit cards than he does when we cruise just for this reason. It just would have been a pain to cancel and replace everything. Mistakes happen, I am happy you got to sail!
  11. We have stayed in a J4 on deck 13 and we loved the location but not the noise from above. We were directly under the kitchen that services Coastal Kitchen and we had noise every night after midnight when they were cleaning. The cabins on the port side would be under the bathrooms outside the WJ, so that side is liable to be noisy too. Deck 6 would be my choice if that was the only ones left but consider what is on deck 5. The "smoking bus stop" as it is called is on deck 6 aft starboard side which wouldn't be an issue when underway but we avoid being near that. On deck 5 port side there is the outdoor eating area for Jamie's Italian. It is not used much but it is lit up at night, so if you like to sit on your balcony at night and look at the stars. there is a lot of light pollution from there. We stayed on deck 7 a little aft of the Jamie's are and I think that area was lit up until 11ish each night. The J4's with the split bathroom are nice though. One of the bathrooms is a sink and a toilet and the other is a sink, tub and stand alone shower with a rain shower head. There is no toilet in that bathroom. Make your Coastal Kitchen reservations after you board so you can get the dinner times you want. Anthem is much better at allowing JS passengers reservations than we have experienced on Oasis class ships.
  12. There is a quote and multi-quote function that works quite well. As far as the rest of your post, I won't comment on it as it is off topic and will likely get your post deleted as it is against community guidelines.
  13. LOL Not going around in circles with you. No idea what recent post you are talking about, could be one of the many that are deleted. Not going looking at some stated post number that has likely changed due to deletions. Would love to see where your character was assassinated though, I commented on an altered/partial quote that left off the relevant information.
  14. It used to be an up charge for the chops, have not seen any say the current lamb dish has an up charge.
  15. You have once again altered your "proof" and fail to show the entire picture. Here is the additional information that is extremely relevant. I only included the dessert portion and the portion you choose to omit. The pictures that you provided are an extremely old version of the original Solarium Bistro menu that changed years ago. What we have experienced in Solarium Bistro is what @PompeySailor has posted in all his pictures.
  16. If they go to guest services and tell them everything they drink is unavailable in the machines and they would like a refund, they would likely get one for the remaining days of the cruise. They would not be offered anything for a few missing choices.
  17. I agree it is a great location but avoid deck 13 J4's on the hump. They are under the kitchen for Coastal Kitchen. We had that location on Anthem and had noise from above every night after midnight when they were cleaning that area.
  18. They will charge your refreshment package for anything non-alcoholic but I always point it out anyways just in case. There is notation on your sea pass (RR) that shows you have a refreshment package and it is shows when they scan your sea pass card.
  19. Yes, you would have to smash the cup to get the chip to tape to the bottom of a different cup.
  20. Did the sailing have a rollcall that was active? Post there and see if that helps.
  21. Have the voucher counts been on the drink receipts for your sailing? Does it look like the are doing the 5am reset instead of midnight? Let us know how that latte goes in the AM. Make mine a mocha though. 😄
  22. If Wonder is the same as other Oasis class ships, there is no access on deck 6 aft from the cabin corridor but there is access on deck 7. Deck 7 cabin corridor opens out onto a public balcony overlooking the aqua theater, with an outside flight of stairs down to deck 6. I would not want that cabin on deck 6 beside the bathroom because of the possible constant flushing of toilets behind from those bathrooms. That common wall could have a lot of piping and constant water noise.
