  1. Although cruising on Royal Caribbean for NE/Canada cruise in two weeks, why does Holland state that you must have received a booster if initial shots more than 5 months old for Canada? I have read Canada's covid protocols, and do not see where they state that.
  2. Cruising on RCL Voyager in two weeks. I was reading the Holland America boards earlier today and according to Holland America, their enhanced protocols for cruising to Canada require a booster if your last covid shot was over 5 months ago. I read Canada's covid protocol requirements for cruises and I do not see where it states that. It does also state that a covid test is NOT required. Does anybody KNOW for certain what the requirements are for cruisers who have a port of call in Canada? I do know that we must complete ArriveCan 3 days prior to boarding our ship in Boston.
  3. Even though I absolutely LOVE Bermuda and have been well over a dozen times, I wouldn't be disappointed if the stop at Bermuda is canceled for our Summit Repo cruise next month, even though we were looking forward to our Rising Son Catamaran Excursion that we've booked.
  4. Hello. Although we have been to Key West numerous times, even for stay vacations, we have booked the Key West Pub Crawl for our cruise on Nieuw Statendam in January. Thought it would be something "fun" to do with other passengers. I know we can do our own pub crawl, but we did have obc to use up for excursions. For those of you who have done the pub crawl through Holland America, was the walk easy or was it a quick walk (as opposed to strolling slowly) and was it difficult keeping up to everyone? My husband sometimes has difficulties due to copd.
  5. If any of you have been to any of the above during your day in Curacao, could you please compare them for me. Thank you! (Cost to get there, pools, beaches - sandy/rocky, costs of beverages/food) Suzanne
  6. Thank you for posting this information. I had a $200 gift card and thought for sure I'd have to go to guest services to have it applied. You just saved me a bunch of my vacation time! 🙂 After reading what you wrote, I logged on and purchased my on board credit using my gift card. Thank you again!!!!
  7. I have the elevate package for my Summit repo cruise in Oct. of this year. However, after doing our check-in yesterday, it states CALL on our boarding pass. I guess I will be making a call this morning to get this straightened out prior to boarding so I don't have to visit guest services.
  8. Thank you for posting this, as we are also cruising in Jan., and I've been waiting, patiently, for the specialty dining to be available to book. We are cruising on the Nieuw Statendam on 1/14, and I was able to reserve and apply our specialty dining perk for our reservation for the Pinnacle Grille. I was able to do it on my laptop and on my phone on the app.
  9. Reading about the "No take out" rule for O'Sheehan's made me laugh, because I do remember being on a cruise to Bermuda a few years ago, and a group of us went there for food after dancing/drinking all night long. Some of us were pretty drunk (not me of course......lol). Anyway, my daughter, who was in her mid 30s was completely wasted. And she "hid" some food with her napkin and started running for the exit. One other person in our party who was also pretty damn drunk yelled, "Get her.........she's smuggling food." We all were dying laughing. So, thanks for reminding me of that silly rule dbrown84!
  10. That is not for cruises though. For cruises, you still need to get a negative covid test.
  11. Yes, all 12 nights' menus do show up, but I am not seeing a night with lobster tails in the main dining room.
  12. I'm on the 3/1/24 sailing for Voyager, and still have not been assigned a new cabin on the Adventure OTS. I actually called today and was advised that they are still working on the changes. We are booked in 2Ds and my family (daughter and her husband and their son, and my granddaughter and her boyfriend) have two cabins booked and we were all near each other near the midship elevator (I was on the hump). I will be extremely disappointed if our cabins are not near where we booked them.
  13. I have read that people have gone here during lobster night in the main dining room. We're going on a 12 night cruise from Boston to Miami in Oct. Nowhere in the app for menus in the main dining room do I see lobster as an entre listed.
  14. According to the app, I can have the truffled five cheese ravioli and steak frites OR pan roasted sea bass and sauteed chicken breast. I just don't know if I want the first option or the 2nd option. Just looking for recommendations. I like both beef and seafood.
  15. We're cruising on the Summit repo this Oct. and have quite a bit of on-board credit, so we booked Le Petite Chef. We've never done it before. For those of you who have, what do you recommend ordering for dinner? If you've had something and it wasn't so great, also please let me know. We booked it for night 7 a while ago......before the menus were out on the app. for different nights.
  16. When my husband and I cruise, we usually have friends/family tagging along with us. However, this past March, we cruised without anybody else on the Rotterdam. We do both smoke, so we spent the majority of our time at the aft pool. We met so many wonderful people, and wherever we sat, our "regular" friends would sit with us. We had the same group too whenever there was music trivia. In fact, we became very fond of another older couple. We just truly enjoyed our time spent with them and even went to dinner with them one evening for our specialty dinner. We exchanged numbers and email addresses, and are now going to cruise with them again this Jan. on the Nieuw Statendam. LOVED our Holland Rotterdam cruise!!!! Great bunch of friendly people at that aft pool area!
  17. Going in Jan. on Nieuw Statendam. I've seen the menu/prices for Jack's Shack, but have not seen the menu/prices for Margaritaville. Have never been to either of these two places while at this port. Does anybody have pricing for food/drinks at Margaritaville that they can post? I see that Margaritaville has a nice big bar and pool. Does it have easy access to the beach? Margaritaville has a DJ. Does Jack's Shack have live music or a DJ? I've also read that you used to get free beach chairs at Jack's Shack if buying drinks/food, but now it is under new ownership and you have to pay for your chairs on the beach. If anybody has been to both of these places, would you please let me know which you prefer and why. Thank you. Suzanne
  18. Cruising on the Voyager OTS 7 night NE/Canada cruise out of Boston on 9/25/22. I could have sworn when checking the app earlier that there were lobster tails on one of the evenings in the main dining room. I no longer see them on the menu when I check the menus on my app. I guess I will just have to bite the bullet and pay for the lobster one night in the main dining room.
  19. I had the opportunity to sail on the Epic when she did her inaugural crossing from London to NY. We departed the end of June, and we got into NY July 3rd or 4th. Weather sucked! It was lovely in London even on our sail away day, but quickly became terrible. What I enjoyed about the ship was the live entertainment in the main dining room and service in the martini lounge every evening. The food was not memorable however. I used to be a huge fan of NCL food, but my last two cruises to Bermuda (2018/2019), the food in the main dining room left a lot to be desired. That being said, I enjoy Cagney's and really enjoy LeBistro on NCL ships. So, if you are a foodie, I strongly suggest eating in the specialty restaurants. Of all my cruises, this was my least favorite. Fortunately, we were with friends who made our cruise more enjoyable. I hope you have a wonderful 30 year anniversary cruise. Congratulations!!!
  20. Yes I have checked on my laptop by logging in to hollandamerica.com.
  21. Hi. We are booked on the Nieuw Statendam for 1/14/23. We have the Have it All promo. As of today, we are still unable to reserve any specialty restaurants, or to schedule our dining times for the main dining room. I just read in another post that someone is cruising in March, and they received an email saying that they could now book their specialty dining with the have it all promo.
  22. I'm pretty certain you will find the oceanview rooms on NCL to be considerably smaller than the OV rooms on Carnival. Same goes for insides and balconies.
  23. We're sailing on the Nieuw Statendam on 1/14/23, and I am still unable to make specialty dining reservations or any other dining reservations in the main dining room.
  24. When we disembarked this past Nov. on the Constellation in Tampa, there were NO taxis. I don't know why, but we had to arrange an uber.
  25. Although I've not yet had the pleasure of staying there, I understand the Riverside Hotel is a terrific place to stay with restaurants and shopping all around it. Prior to hotel prices skyrocketing this year, we always stayed at the Sonesta on FLL Beach! Wonderful 4* property across the street from the beach. I just can't bring myself to pay what they are asking for a night lately though. We have stayed there many times, even for our land trips to FLL.
