  1. I too am surprised when I walk past open doors and the cabin is a disaster area. I also note that when walking past the business class section of an aircraft and it is a mess as well. Is it certain people that think they are entitled and they do not have to clean or pick up after themselves? Curious if they are like that at home?
  2. Not playing word games with you. You did say "They do drop prices" when I spoke of my specific case in post #49 and I gave you my specific results.
  3. I beg to differ. I have kept very close tabs on the cost, hoping for a price drop. I used CruisePlum as well. Since last June, there has been no price drop on our Jan Panama cruise in a Family Balcony cabin, regardless of the numerous 1/2 off, 2nd passenger free or whatever else they have had on sale. When I do the trial booking, the price has been identical. So, I am quite sure the price does not go down
  4. We bought our cruise last June for January. Every other day we got email about a sale. Even Black Friday sales. None of the "sales" were cheaper for the cruise than what we paid in June. Yes it is marketing but the real question is, when is a sale not a sale and I think NCL never has a sale LOL
  5. Thanks, that is good to know. One bag for the cruise or one each week? We are on a 15 day cruise.
  6. Somewhere I read there are other perks to Club Balcony cabins. I thought I read you get a free laundry bag once a week. Is this correct?? This will only be our third NCL cruise so I am not even sure what "status" we have.
  7. I pick for itinerary and if the ship has no waterside, all the better. No go karts and laser tag even better LOL
  8. We were upgrades to a suite in the aft corner of a ship (Not NCL). On a higher deck. We loved the fact it was a free upgrade. How great is that LOL Unfortunately, it is a long way to anywhere. There is also exaggerated movement during choppy seas. We had soot from the exhaust on the deck furniture, deck and railings. Our friends on a lower aft deck said they felt the propellers, especially early in the mornings while docking.
  9. What sale? NCL has had two for one or 50% off for over a year (maybe even longer). We booked our January cruise back in June and it is on sale now...for more than we paid in June LOL Yes, I tried booking exact cabin (just next door) and all the free at sea and all the stuff we have now. More by over $1000 (for the two of us)
  10. I suspect ongoing issues in the Middle East has NCL rethinking this cruise. I would certainly contact them.
  11. The airlines are full because they reduced their fleets and routes. They are full on the remaining fleets and reduced routes.
  12. 100% correct. Understand NCL is a product and their responsibility is to their shareholders. Only if they lose customers will there be any changes to increase food and services.
  13. I apologize if I wrote something that could be misinterpreted. Not my intent and not proper wording. I did change the words, in a later post.
  14. You are correct. If I have discussed topics, it was in response to what others have said and to reiterate or to provide answers. Is your mandate to become some sort of posting police? And to misinterpret what people say??
  15. And where on there did I say "The OP has posted in the past that they don't book the BOGO offer because NCL doesn't compensate you for your cruise if you miss because of delays or cancellations from the airline they put you on. "? Those discussions were on booking with NCL and issues that have arisen to others. My ancillary question was "We also will not be using the free airfare part as we have sufficient loyalty points with an airline and can get a better schedule for us. "
  16. I asked a question. I did not complain. You are reading far too much into something that is not there. It was a question. Yes, you misinterpreted. I have never posted such a thing. You are mistaken.
  17. Perhaps you are right. I corrected the term in a later post. As I said, I had a recent medical condition which disallows me from drinking. Also, as I said, we have already paid in full. This is a discussion forum, not expecting insulting and rude
  18. Gosh folks, it is only a question. I am not demanding anything. Mellow out. We already paid in full and I had a recent medical condition occur. I have been a member of Cruise Critic for a long time and thought I could get some polite responses from NCL folks..
  19. Yes, really. OK, perhaps used the wrong word. Is "in lieu of" a better term? It was a question, no need to be rude.
  20. As a result of a recent medical problem, I cannot drink. I cancelled the free at sea drink and got the gratuities back. Should I ask or get more if I will not be getting any drinks?? We also will not be using the free airfare part as we have sufficient loyalty points with an airline and can get a better schedule for us. Should there be compensation or onboard credit if not taking those benefits?
  21. Overpriced jewellery and watches do not make up for "no tax" LOL The cruise lines get commission on Diamond International as well as other shop sales. I am also a "watch hound" and check prices everywhere and have found no good prices on any in either Diamonds International and least of all in Little Switzerland. Both those outlets are riddled with scam claims. Google Little Switzerland scams or Diamond international scams and get 10's of thousands hits. Like always, buyer beware and make very sure of what you are buying. If found to be overpriced or not what you thought, dealing with a shop that is not under your home country consumer controls will be nothing but a shame.
  22. Personally, after numerous cruises in the Caribbean and to many islands, we have found that most of the jewellery stores are in cahoots with the ships and cruise lines. We have never seen any jewellery or watches priced any cheaper than at home. What is more, if there are issues, getting service is near impossible.
  23. We too are Celebrity fans and you are right. The cost increase on Celebrity seems to have gotten very high. I think they may be trying to change their passenger demographic. Anyway, next to price, the most important thing in cruising is the itinerary. Cabins are close to the same on all cruise lines. Food is a topic that will always cause argument LOL. We have been on NCL and enjoyed it as much as we did on Celebrity. So, if you found an itinerary you like and the price is right, you cannot go wrong taking NCL.
