  1. Congratulations. You will love the suite especially for all those sea days. We’ve never sailed on the Island, but have sailed in suites on the Royal and Enchanted. Sabatini’s for breakfast among the top perks. We also enjoy the laundry as we usually tour a week or so in advance of embarkation The room steward should arrive with the bubbly No special seating at shows ARAIK extended room service menu In cabin afternoon tea We chose Bayou Cafe as we love Cajun food. Here is the PDF with the perks. Interested to hear how things go as we are on the Island this summer in a suite. Please post. Enjoy your suite. https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/ships/products/staterooms/default-suite.html
  2. Thank you very much. Very helpful information. I am leaning towards the bike rental. I think it’s a wonderful way to get around. I Will share your comments with others,
  3. Hi everyone, we have a stop at Skagen in July. I have thought about the bike rentals, but not sure others in the group would be up for that. Does anyone know of a company or individual who provides a service or tour in this port? I found a company Cruiseskagen, but it seems they only work with cruise lines now. Nothing on the usual booking sites. Thanks in advance.

  5. H1 @possum52 We are considering a land trip instead of a cruise as we think we can see more. We are considering both Australia and New Zealand. Starting in Australia and ending in Auckland after about 3 weeks. Yea, considering that travel time from Auckland as well. Ty for the tips.
  6. Hi everyone, I am looking for information on a round trip day tours to Rotorua. Checking several sites such as viator, It seems November only has a few dates. Any suggestions? Thanks
  7. Our CVP applied a GC to a shore excursion for us. This was about a month ago.
  8. We used Iceland Everywhere for three ports, but used Arctic Shore Excursions for Seydisfjordur as Iceland Everywhere doesn’t operate there. We are aware of the cancellation policy, but I found some others more restrictive. We are using ASE for only one port and there are 2 of us. The problem is if you wait, you may miss out. Iceland is extremely popular now. Many cruise lines have adapted the Northern Europe itineraries to include Iceland to compensate for the loss of St. Petersburg. Many tourists have done the same. Our tours filled up in January for July dates.
  9. You would get back what you actually paid after the 10% was applied. So if using OBC then back to your OB account. If using a credit card, then back to you credit card, if a gift card, then back to the gift card.
  10. Check the roll call for your cruise. There should be ideas there. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/63-princess-roll-calls/
  11. @GreenwhiteThanks for the report. This is a great service.
  12. https://www.busybus.co.uk We were going with this company but our port was changed.
  13. @MoxiefurballDo your tickets include priority check in and security screening? I didn’t recall a bag drop due to so many people, but there could be one. We passed through last summer three times. The check in lines for passengers without priority was very long. I know LHR is installing new security scanners with regard to liquids, creams, paste, etc. The outcome with these scanners is you don’t have to remove these items from your carryons. I think currently this is at T3. The biggest hold up we saw was passengers who did not remove these products and place them in the clear bags. One one occasion, the agent removed these products and place them in a plastic bag and ran a test on them one by one. The 2006 incident, uncovered by UK authorities, that led to the liquids rule involved plots (10 of them) to carry explosives in sodas from the UK to US airports. There was also a security staffing shortage, but we saw all lines open. We used T2 for all our flights. Passport control shouldn’t be an issue if you are flying out. LHR doesn’t have US customs clearance for flights TO the US. The previous posters’ remarks about numerous lines are correct. The impacts grow later in the day. Things could be better now. Maybe ask on the port of call boards, numerous locals post there and can advise. We plan to head straight to LHR after disembarking at Southampton in July. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/148-british-isleswestern-europe/
  14. John Joseph was very funny and had a clever musical component as well. The others were so so in my opinion. Others may have different opinions. Dont. sit near the front unless you want to become part of the show. One kid did so every night and enjoyed being part of it.
  15. From the US CBP website https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-3619?language=en_US Once returning from Europe, we had some Dutch cheese that shaped in roll. One CBP officer thought it was meat. We were there for an hour, until an officer who could read Dutch translated the labels on the packaging.
  16. Here is a recent report. Of course things can change quickly.
  17. @rhobbkfgood question. @travelers07will be disembarking in Southampton so probably not set up there. But @Guardsymay be able to report when they return.
  18. The food and beverage service may be more than coffee and pastries. The quality may be better as well. Who knows? Thanks @Guardsy for your efforts.
  19. I agree, sounds like a step in the right direction. Hopefully someone will take advantage of this and post their experience.
  20. This is interesting. The suite pre cruise experience is an area which could use improvement. Other lines have this down- even a dedicated pre cruise suite concierge(on land) who handles many issues, reservations etc. At the port there are dedicated lounges and check in desks. Then the concierge (or their assistant) walks suite passengers on board. Never heard of a place off site from the port. What is your embarkation port? Then again who knows if it’s legit? Let us know why you find out.
  21. Thank you both. This is what I thought. Tickets are with on Finnair are with very few AA miles, so basically free. I am watching the direct routes and may change if price is right. Most of those are with Air France.
  22. Hello, thanks for all the great information. My question: US citizens coming from Paris to Copenhagen, with 3 hour layover in Helsinki. Is there a passport checkpoint for us? ty
  23. I forgot to mention I tried an iPhone, desk top and an iPad. All three. Didn’t try a lap top. One order eventually went through, that was on the desk top.
