For about the last 3 weeks when ever we want to print our luggage tags they now only show up very short and squatty. We use plastic holders and they work very well, but now the tags only show about 3 inches long. Our neighbor has the same issue. Anyone else have this problem? How does one correct it? Thanks Doug

I have heard nothing but good reports on Overlord Tours. However, we took Lable West and they were beyond wonderful. We even got a stop at the German Cemetery. I would highly, highly recommend either over a ships tour. Half the cost and twice the tour in my opinion.

when we went there, the casino was open, but no tables were open, You could play the slot machines, and there was someone in the cashire cage. the Casino struck me as tiny. I think smaller than many ship casinos. For us the highlite of the Casino visit was watching the "self cleaning" toilet seats.

yeah....instead of Defenders I should have said "germans"...Our guide told us that so many casualties were expected at Omaha, that the first wave sent was not the crack troops, but rather the newer recruits. No matter, they all performed with such bravery that I am very,very proud. The most amazing thing was how grateful the French in this area still are. People actually went out of their way to shake my hand when they learned I was American. I was so embarrassed I told one man I was not even born when the invasion happened. He said I shake your hand because I cannot shake your fathers...

The best tour we ever took in over 100 cruises was a Normandy tour with Lable West tours. We toured OmahaPont du Hoc the American cemetery and the German cemetery. The German cemetery was impressive in that no birth dates were on the tombstones. The reason was so many defenders were either over70 or under 10.... I could not recommend any tour group higher.

One more thing. The $400.00 is fair and I don't mind if that is forfeit if I cancel. What I do mind is them auto canceling and then keeping the money. It takes hours and hours to get the cruise reinstated. Doug

I agree with this sentiment. Our issue is that this was not just one mistake. We have many casino free cruise offers from Princess. We also get them from RCCL. Every time we book one with Princess we get the cancelation notice. My wife calls back and after 2hoirs on the phone we are assured the mistake will be corrected. Sometimes it is, but most of the time it is cancelled. If we are lucky we get a competent one that does help. Mostly it does not work and we have to spend another 2 hours on hold. At some point enough is enough. With RCCL this has not been an issue.

remedied?....They haven't a clue. When Annie asked for supervisors, she was told no one could help. However they would "expedite" her request for a solution. That has never worked before. No the cruise no longer appears in the cruise personalizer. It is simply gone, like we are a couple of dead beats that did not pay....It is not our first rodeo. We are almost always invited to the "most traveled" luncheon. We are just sick of being treated this badly. We are offered free cruises continually, but we will no longer accept any. It is not worth the aggravation. Doug

She always calls the Casino department. The regular Princess number will not talk to you about Casino cruises.....Also, I was wrong. We have had this problem before, but the Casino was able to clear it up. This time, not so much.... Doug

we have taken many free casino cruises in the past. We have never before had a problem. Our issue is that we have no recourse. There is no one to talk to about this issue. As far as taking them to court....I am not going to take them to court, I am filing a criminal complaint against them for fraud. How they choose to deal with that is their problem, but no small print can absolve them of criminal behavior. We still have 7 Princess cruises booked, 2 of them free Casino cruises. This may get interesting. Doug

Buyer beware... We have many casino free cruise offers. We had a Hawaii cruise booked for next year using the Casino offer. Strange thing was we had to pay $200.00 each up front along with tax and port charges, but the 200 would come back to us in the form of on board credit.....strange, but ok. Then we got a notice that if final payment was not received the cruise would be cancelled.( a casino offered free cruise has no final payment) My wife spent several hours on the phone with the Casino department being assured that this was a mistake and we were in no danger of having the cruise cancelled. The very next day we got a notice saying the cruise was cancelled and the $400.oo was non refundable. My wife again spent several hours on the phone being assured that this was simply a glitch. We could get no explanation or satisfaction...Our only recourse will be to submit a charge to the California Attorney General fraud Division charging Princess with acting in bad faith. In addition to reporting to the AG we will never again book with Princess although we have over 600 days invested with them.. Something is very wrong with Princess. Doug

Princess Casino offers are looking more and more like out right fraud. We have two right now that required us to pay taxes and port charges in advance( quite normal and expected) What was not normal was a requirement to also pay $200.00 per person up front (non refundable) which would be returned on board as onboard credit. We booked the 2 cruises. We got a notice the other day saying if final payment was not received the cruise would be canceled. After 2 hours on the phone with the Casino department we were assured this was a mistake and to disregard the notice. (after all there should be no final payment as the cruise was "comped")...The next day came the notice the cruise was canceled. Two more hours on the phone to the casino department and being assured that this was a mistake, we can contact no one with Princess that can give an explanation. We intend to file fraud charges with the California Attorney General and will never sail with Princess again, forgoing over 600 nights with Princess.

More hours on hold and nobody knows anything. When the casino gives you a free cruise and you set it up, you better hope they , in fact, pay for it or it goes away. We are now on notice that our next one will also be cancelled.....and not one soul at Princess can sort it out. 600 nights with Princess and we are just about done with them.

I dont understand the OP's concern. If not seeing land for so many days is a daunting thought, what would it mater if solo or in a group? We love the sea days. There is so much to do on the ship and everything is open. I say go and enjoy.... Doug

Cruisemom42....yes and thank you for the correction. The first time we went there the clouds which had it completely obscured suddenly dropped down giving the impression it was rising out of the clouds.I would not have been surprised to find elves and fairies there. Doug

I dont know a thing about wineries....but if you go to Orvieto, you absolutely, absolutely cannot miss stopping at the Village of Boregnio. It is on top of a mountain that rises above the clouds. Everything you see there looks like a Monet painting. You will not visit a more breath taking place in all of Italy. Doug

cruise lines GUARANTEE customer loyalty by giving big perks to returning cruisers.....and as one rises in the ranks those perks become so addictive that folks just return again and again to the same line. These perks run anywhere from free drinks, to free laundry, to free internet to yes, free staterooms. The cruise lines have plenty of loyal customers. When one reaches lofty level on one line, it is hard to even look at another line. Since cruising restarted last August we have been on 25 or 26 cruises. The ships did start pretty empty, but the last 3 we took have been full. Anyone that gambles knows....KNOWS that the tightest machines and the worst casino game odds are hands down on cruise ships. To say different means that one has either never been on a cruise ship or casino or more likely both.

sorry....on to what I was going to post about , which was the OP's question. The simple fact is that not even Captain Stubing can tell you how Princess figures the point system. A person that exclusively plays slots can read his/her point total on the machine. Table points are unknown. I have asked the Host and they tell me they do not know, I have to go to the Casino site. The web address they give only directs to the general Carnival site with no mention of Casinos. I have called the Casino operator( from the 800 number given by the host) and have been told they have no idea and to ask the Host. So, the only points you can find out about are slot machine points.....ok...what do those points mean? All I could ever get was a letter showing the non working Web address and the non useful 800 number. I hope this was helpful. Doug

The cheapest way to go is WhatsAp....all you need is internet and someone on the other end with the Whatsap Ap, you can call and talk for free. You can only get calls or make calls to someone that has that Ap, but that is easy. We tell our kids if they want to talk to us to get the Ap or write a letter.... Doug
