Can someone tell me what are VIP benefits? We have several offers but they do not tell what the VIP benefits are Thanks Doug

We were on that last cruise to Barcelona in 2020 when she was to be amped. When the world stopped she could not get that amping done.I seriously doubt that those parts were allowed to just sit around somewhere waiting to be used. Storage costs would be over the moon. As for what will be done with her....I have never met anyone who was "in the know" that was really "in the know" I also doubt that whatever was going to be done would just be done the same way.....it might be obsolete by now... The problem with using a TA is that you do not own the booking( you just get to pay for it) the agent owns it.I doubt RC would even talk to you about it because they are not allowed. TA's can be useful to many people but there are drawbacks to them. Good Luck Doug

Don't feel like they are picking on you there in the UK. We are trying to set up cruises for 2024 ( we took 18 in 2022 and will have 15 this year if all goes according to plan) The sad truth is that RCCL is pricing themselves above our acceptable range. We like to do 4 or 5 TA's a year, but now even if we can find a reasonable cruise, the airfare home is ridiculous. Not since the days of covid have we felt so trapped at home. Doug

There is so much conflicting "information" out there as to when this is actually required that I no longer have any idea when it comes into effect. Does anyone have any real information? I appreciate it. Doug

Things have changed since COVID. The Concierge lounge on some ships is no longer open to Pinacles. The lounges are pretty small. They are not worried about unauthorized folks drinking or eating for free. They simply do not want unauthorized folks taking up room. Every cruise we have been on since the Pandemic the Concierge announces that unauthorized folks have to leave. They will and do check . Why fight for a seat in a very crowded tiny space when you can easily get a spot in your favorite bar? You get the same benefit everywhere.

We have a cruise booked out of San Francisco to Hawaii over Christmas that we are going to cancel because we dont feel San Francisco is safe enough to stay in anymore.We have a hotel booked near Fisherman's Warf for 2 days prior to the cruise. We used to enjoy exploring around for new restaurants but it does not look like it is safe to leave the hotel. What does everyone think? Doug

No sympathy to the OP from me. I only pray that there are no bed bugs or fleas( lots of dogs on ships now). If they give us clean sheets and pillows we are happy. We always wipe down the cabin anyway. The cabin stewards are wayyy overworked on turn around day. Doug

Cayman!...ok seriously if you just want to make Prime, just play the slots. They give way more points than table play. If you play 2 bucks a spin you will make Prime faster than playing $25 bucks a hand blackjack by a factor of 3 or 4. Doug

Not to be a wise guy, but I would be willing to bet (see what I did there?) that no one that is prime ever gave it one minutes thought as to what it would cost to get there. If you play, you play. I have watched some people play a slot machine for $10.00 a spin sit there and hit the button as fast as they can hit it. I suspect they make Prime in one night. I also suspect that making Prime was the last thing on their mind.... Doug

yeah...almost all offers are coming in as only the named player is comped. The other in the cabin (spouse) has to pay. When I called to check on this I was given examples down to the penny. That discounted extra fare is in fact charged at double price and then discounted 40 or 50 % i.e....if you had no offer and each person was charged $1000.00 fare...plus taxes and port charges, with the offer you pay $0.00 fare plus port and taxes. Your spouse pays $2000.00 (less 50%) plus port and taxes. My wife is Signature and her offers are no better than mine as prime.

On our Island TA in OCT & Nov the internet was so bad they refunded everyones money. On the Ruby to Hawaii in March it was generally ok. Princess internet is not great ever and marginal most of the time. I wish they would follow RCCL.s lead and go to skylink...it is just like being at home on the desk top

Finely ground pepper does not smell like cow poop! The smell was VERY distinctive....overpowering almost. I began to think someone had pranked Princess until I had the very same stuff on the second ship. Doug

yes....and they could not find any....We never ate in the dining room so I do not know if they had the same issue.

I was on the Ruby last month and just got off the Crown for 2 weeks. I do not know why, but in the buffet they have removed all the black pepper and replaced it with what I thought was white pepper. Now I dont know what to think. This stuff is very finely ground. I could detect very little flavor, but what I could detect was a very strong odor. It smells somewhat like....no....it smells exactly like a cattle feedlot. That is right!....cow ...uh....droppings. Am I the only one?The people we travel with would not use it. Doug

glad you posted this On January 18 I faxed my notorized request for a 2022 won lost statement to the Fax number on the form 305-459-6302 .....My FAX report showed transmission OK....to this date I have had no reply. I am not worried about 2022 as I got a won loss from Carnival which will cover the W-2 wins. but next year I will have to get something for sure. Doug

Muggo....I feel your pain. Princess will not tell you what the points are good for. Then when you do get an offer there is always an issue. On our last cruise ( a VIP comped cruise) the Casino never let us know what that even meant. When I was finally able to corner a hostess and ask she looked at all her paper work and discovered that my wife and I were supposed to be VIP which meant free drinks in the casino and other perks. This was on the third day of the cruise which meant that we missed the first day party and two days of free drinks. After the cruise we received offers for free VIP cruises with the total package Free internet, free drinks anywhere, and all tips paid. Sounds great but there is NOT ONE cruise that we could take. We could go up to 12 days but there were no cruises offered within the time frame that were possible. On the other hand RCCL publishes what all their tier levels are and you have a 12 month window to achieve them....your points accumulate. You can ask the host everyday what your table points are. With Princess, Captain Stubing could not get information on his table points. Princess does not accumulate points. If you are a serious player go with Carnaval or RCCL. Doug

back in the day we used to get pretty good Wi-Fi from Princess. It was somewhat slow, but that was to be expected. Starting last year the internet just got slower and slower. Now it is so slow, most of my sites will not load at all. I think they did improve their internet, but it is simply over whelmed by the number of users. I am not a Princess critic as we have over 600 nights invested in Princess, but I have to call it like it is and say the internet is way inferior to RCCL. Doug

This issue is not restricted to TA's It is so bad it is almost impossible to use anywhere in the Caribbean. We did a TA earlier in the year and the internet was so bad all across the Atlantic on the Island Princess that we were refunded our money. RCCL uses Starlink and the internet is almost as fast as we have at home. As far as Medallion Net goes...worst operating system on the high seas. Doug
