On the Beyond, we asked if we could order from the MDR in Blu. We asked the Manager and then the Assistant Manager and the answer was NO. So we just went to one of the MDRs. We had a great meal with excellent service.
There are posters that just want to be oppositional.
As mentioned, there are great cabins in Aqua Class and the location depends on the specific ship. The numbers are not the same from ship to ship. I have never had noise from above as I look at the deck plans and choose using that information.
In Aqua Class, we have gotten it next day, 2 days and on the Beyond, 3 days. We were given the option to get next day or same day (if handed it before 9 am) for an additional fee.
The issue I ran into was that many wines were listed but not available on the ship. There were substitutions offered. We got to try wines that were not on the menu.
That is NOT true. There are cabins that are less desirable but there are some with very good locations. There are perks which include breakfast and dinner in Blu, free use of the Persian Garden, free daily bottled water, bottle of wine, upgraded shower in some ships, etc.
Unfortunately, you went to the Oceanview at probably the worse two times. First day and breakfast. The breakfast in Blu is excellent and better than Luminae in my opinion. I really enjoyed the selections and quality at the Oceanview. But I usually went before or after the craziness.
I have had better steaks at restaurants with names associated with a tv show starring Lorne Greene, Michael Landon, etc. And it did not have an additional surcharge.
If you are thinking Aqua Class, look at rooms in the aft section where there are rooms above you. We have found there are more menu selections in the MDR than in Blu. However Blu does have some unique dishes not found in the MDR.
The room you currently have is quite desirable. I have stayed in those and we liked the larger veranda.
If you are looking for a delicious burger, sorry.
Actually, the tap water has been better tasting as compared to the brand that was available on one cruise. I typically drink the ship's water. No issues and you cannot beat the price!
You may want to check at the excursion deck when you go onboard as there are usually cancellations. We did that on our last cruise and it all worked out. We have had our time changed and I did not get a notice of the change. I found out when I went to check our excursion time and it had been changed. Said it was changed by the excursion operator.
If you have a day and time that you prefer to dine, then a package may not be for you. You would arrange your days and time once you board. I have personally not found the savings to be worth it as I like to pick my days and times in advance.
We tried on the Beyond to order from the MDR menu. A very emphatic "NO". So we waited and went back and again the answer was "NO". So we just went to Normandie and had a great meal.
Pay now and avoid a potential cancellation. Many cruises are running nearly full and Celebrity could possibly sell your cruise at a higher rate with no problem. Pay and get it over with. Not worth the worry and the few bucks involved.
