  1. On the website of many cruise lines there's a page listing reduced, or no single supplement cruises: https://www.oceaniacruises.com/special-offers/single-supplement https://www.pgcruises.com/promotions/solo-travelers-save https://seabournsolotraveler.com/ https://www.silversea.com/best-luxury-cruise-deals/single-occupancy-supplements.html https://www.costacruises.eu/cruises.html?page=1#occupancy_EUR_Blue=A&guestAges=30&guestBirthdates=1992-11-21&{!tag=shipsTag}shipId=TO&group.sort=duration desc, departDate asc&{!tag=offerTag}campaignId_EUR_FAKESNG=Blue
  2. Good luck. You may be the first person to successfully make a claim. I hope they don't deny it on the grounds your tour is no longer available so it's not comparable. This reminds me of hotel booking sites and their ubiquitous, 'Best Price Guarantee'. To successfully make a claim, everything has to be identical. However, they are in collusion and all have slightly different booking conditions - such as one day difference in the free cancellation period etc. I don't think anyone has ever made a successful claim. EDIT: Your experience illustrates (and confirms) the overpricing of line-booked excursions. I've always found them to be 2-3 times the price of a comparable, self-booked excursion.
  3. Yes. At least one side the buffets on Princess is open at all times throughout the day. They will close one side to do a 'switchover', open it and close the other until the switch over is complete (and both sides are open).
  4. But they're lactose-free because they contain no diary products. 😂
  5. From HAL - https://www.hollandamerica.com/en/ca/cruise-deals/have-it-all-early-booking-bonus Scroll down to Terms & Conditions/ Low Price Guarantee: If a guest books a HAL cruise with the Early Booking Bonus Offer (the “original booking”) and such guest finds a cheaper price for an identical booking within the duration of the Early Booking Bonus Offer (the “Comparison Fare”), the difference may be compensated in the form of an onboard credit, stateroom upgrade or other method.
  6. Probably. Plus I think they're trying to figure out how to charge for the air you breathe on your cruise. 😉
  7. The Early Booking Bonus (EBB) no longer applies (and I've edited the post to reflect what I would lose if I re-fared with HIA). No agent can 'bring back' the EBB.
  8. In a nutshell - if you re-fare, you will lose the OBC/perks associated with a promo you booked under (assuming the promo is no longer running). You will not lose the OBC received from making the booking while onboard a previous cruise; or: military service, AARP, and community appreciation OBC. The lead-in price for my 28-day cruise just dropped $140 pp, but to re-fare I would lose my HIA Early Booking Bonus perks: upgrade to Elite Beverage Package & Premium Wi-Fi and gratuities. I will not be re-faring.
  9. On Vista Class ships the doors are not magnetic. I don't know about the Koningsdam.
  10. Weird! Wine that is $13.30/glass is $42/bottle and wine that is $12/glass is $48/bottle. That doesn't make sense.
  11. A family of four could certainly get their money's worth, but most 'solo' cruisers won't have that much laundry.
  12. A couple of shots of Baileys in a chocolate or vanilla shake would be good.
  13. I would use them (I can't because of residency) to pay for my cruise and save $1,200.00!
  14. On the website: log in (obviously), bring up your cruise, click on 'Extras' (at the top) and scroll down until you see the gift cards ($5-$100), select the one(s) you want, go to your cart, click on 'Check-out', select 'Gift Card' for payment method and enter the information. Done! 😀
  15. Naw... it'll be hot & humid, so just 'go commando'.
  16. Thanks chengkp75. You're a wealth of knowledge! 🔧
  17. I knew about the self-serve laundromats for passengers on some ships (I've used them), but didn't realise there was a separate (to the ship's) laundry for passenger's clothes. How are crew uniforms and their 'private' clothes handled?
  18. I had no idea there was the ship's laundry and a passenger laundry.
  19. Interesting, thanks! What I don't understand is how making water for laundry causes pollution if the source is condensate from the air conditioning system. Isn't that water almost 'pure' already? Is it because if you make water you have to discharge it?
  20. Apparently it's only in Ft. Lauderdale and Seattle; and you sign up for it on the ship. So, how do you get all that dry cleaning to the ship?
  21. Just Google the ship and room number, click on the link that shows up and you can see all the large, 'members only' pictures.
  22. No, the overweight bag charges on the airline will cancel that out.
