  1. Though Interesting as Royal is keeping 3 Ships there at a time, 5 different Ships during 2024-2025
  2. Missed the Boat so to speak. Post 9/11, Great Recession of dozen yrs ago and during Covid start up there was many Specials for Solo Travelers. This where the total Price for Cabin was cheaper then 2 Passenger as many times there no Single Supplement. Now that Ships are back running 110% Capacity Royal has no reason to run many specials for anyone. Traveled Solo last 22yrs, deals hard t find but once in while some OK prices to be found but takes lot looking or just Luck
  3. Post 9/11, Real ID, my Enhanced Driver's Licence. Guess Security wise none of it really matters. In AZ and my Licence is Real ID(Star) MI EDL, was able renew it online MI Website and they mailed it to address I provided them here in Az. They just used my old Photo from 2017 Licence, good thing I really dont age
  4. Agree. Shoot used my Enhanced Drivers Licence for Decade plus on Border Crossing, Closed and Open Loop Cruises. Have a Passport and Card now getting them early 2020 when had both Trans Atlantic and Trans Pacific Booked, CV canceled them and no plans to go now $$$$
  5. Shoot I remember when Vision Class had Burger, Fries, Hot Dogs and Pizza available 24hrs a day in the Solarium. Now got to pay room service to eat these most hrs. Use to be every sea day there was a Barbecue cooked up on the pool deck. They also had a little table for every 2 Loungers which was nice keep your stuff off the Deck and dry. In Windjammer they had huge Cafeteria Trays sliding it along as food handed to you, not self serve. Was nice so you didnt have to back 3 trips carry your meal to your table. Funny thing was WJ a Cafeteria style breakfast/Lunch inc Trays the food was on China then, now plastic plates/bowls. Though Dinner in WJ was still kinda fancy, had table cloths, candles, wait staff to bring drinks and you could order off the menu or take a tray up
  6. Been a while, preCV, but I did the list those that had Tips removed. Whats that saying dont mess with people that prepare/serve your Food. 😁 I Managed Restaurants for yrs, my waitstaff made $2.13 hr, rate stayed that way there for Decades and even now 40yrs later its only up to $3.93hr. So it's not just Cruise Ships that workers live off their Tips. Do miss days when your Waiter, Asst Waiter and Room Attendant were only ones getting handed the money Directly. But even then was 50 cents PPPD(per person per day) for Asst Waiter, other 2 each received $1.25 PPPD
  7. Back then they'd have us going threw the Main Dining for Immigration, always made it seen unsanitary as people in line would set at Tables set up for Breakfast or Lunch Yeah probably 20 Cruises on Repos or 11n Carib from Florida we went to A/C or A/B, only 4 were the A/B though one them was 3 months ago. Interesting as never seen Sunshine on B, only once it rained on A and that lasted only 20 min
  8. Agree, most are High now. Can still find ok Deals on some older Ship Sailings. High as some these are still not high as were in the 80's
  9. Agree, at least once a Year been on a Ship that didnt even start letting people off until after 7:30am, some with last off at 10:30-10:45am. Right before CV got off on Dec 22 my Flight wasnt til 230, I made it but some were being told they Might not get out Christmas. And now with Full Flights, miss it and you could be difficult locating another Plane with an open seat
  10. Trying to remember wasnt this one having electrical issues weeks ago? Not sure if they were down when was on her couple months ago as I never use Ship Elevators. My Mom lives in 55+ community. 2 Elevators each a distance from the other, took 2 months get part to fix one. Lot of extra walking where 1/3 use Walkers
  11. Yeah when I retired moved to AZ. After 28yrs in the Southeast and my first 16 in Midwest had enough Hot and Humid. Now just have HOT, 156 days of 110+ this yr. After 9/11 they were giving Cruises away, did my first two 10niters and never looked back... Now have to contend with overpriced Airfare. Going North to South and back, not so bad, East to West and back Flights are 2-3 times cost
  12. Shoot, do min 6-8 Cruises a yr and except for this last yr only done 1 Cruise less then 9nites in last 21yrs.
  13. The small plastic one would stretch. I would roll each item tight making it a competition get as much could in there. 12 T-shirts, 4 shorts, 12 pair underwear and 12 sox. They would then come back in 2 full paper laundry bags. As others said never do this with ice items, over yrs have had dozen's come back faded a shade lighter or with pin holes in them. More noticeable darker item was to begin with.
  14. Radiance was also on 12, got on Jewel also last yr. I'd never seen that space open on Brilliance or Serenade, was used for storage with Fire Walls shut...
  15. I still have my old US ARMY Can Opener so I'm ready! ...In Sept there were replacing all the Emergency Rations on Serenade. Watched as they were cutting open all the old water bag rations from the Lifeboats and letting it run off the deck. 1000's of them. Maybe the old Food Rations did end up on the Menu.
  16. Though have seen stuff stacked like this EVERYWHERE, In the City & out in the Country, Georgia, LA, PHX, Detroit, Miami... Been while but many times seen things flying out back of Pickups and off the roofs of cars not being strapped down right, sometimes items were being held as the drove drown the road. Oh Look another Mattress or Chair on side of the Interstate
  17. Had one my Best Cruises on Voyager, though that was 25yrs ago when I was on Cruise #004. Defiantly one first Royal Ships Built for Families. She will always be in my Memories, hope to get on her again at someday!
  18. "Yes, there are morgues on most of the world's largest cruise ships. The larger the ship, the larger the morgue's capacity. Vessels are also required to carry body bags. Morgues are located on ships' lowest decks, generally along what the crew refers to as "I-95" — the long corridor that runs from one end of the vessel to the other. It houses storage for everything from food and alcohol to fresh flowers and miscellaneous ship equipment. (Don't worry; the morgues are kept well away from areas where food is stored.)" ...well I'd hope so! But everyone is complaining about the quality of the Food.
  19. Thanks for sharing. Serenade has always had map/chart that Cruise, wish all the Ships did. I always take picture this on day 1 each Sailing, at least then 30yrs from now I'll know where Pictures are from
  20. About every 3rd or 4th Cruise on Serenade I would end up Docked here instead on International. This every yr in Nov/Dec, a Nice Change
