My Kids were young in 90's most the year it was more expensive for passenger 3/4 then 1/2. For say a 7nite OV on Vision Class might be $799ea for 1 & 2 then passenger 3 & 4 would be $1099 each! Summertime, Spring Break and Holidays was even higher. At time Kids were ages 2, 4, and 9yrs old when I started them on Cruises. Oh and these rates were USD

Yup Still finding a few pre-CV prices on Radiance Class Pop up once in while, booked 3 of them on Jewel for 2025 a few weeks ago. One example just saw, a last min $899ea for inside doing Panama Canal. Not bad. One good things is my Sailings not overcrowded, many SOLO like me, only handful Families and maybe 10-20 Kids at most

Back in 90's Royal would take top Rated Crew from other Ships to send to the New Flag Ship. A full 30% of Crew on New Ships was Best of the Best. Always though kinda sucks for older Ships loosing their best people

It's really nothing new, Been Cruising on Royal over 35yrs and been some decline every Decade. Do I miss the Food from 30-35 yrs ago, Yes, but dont miss cost of Cruising back then as even with high Rates coming out on Royal 2025-26 it's still cheaper to Cruise now then was in 80's. Done 100+ nites in 2022-2023, on 3 Ships and can still find Good Hot Food to eat. I never went hungry. But Portion sizes have good down and Desserts defiantly not as Good as were 8-10yrs ago. All my opinion. Interesting is on 3 Ships some the same Dishes from same Menus were prepared totally Different. On Jewel one might be little spice to it, on Radiance it was a little Bland and third Serenade it had different ingredients added. You'd think Fleet wide would be consistent, like a National Rest Chain eat Burger in California, Michigan and Florida they'd all be prepared same way and taste exactly the same.

Shoot about half my Cruises Wind Jammer now closes at 8:30pm. Years ago walk into WJ after Late Show and get our second Dessert. Then for while could go into Solarium and get some Pizza, a Burger and Fries with these available until 4am. Then of Course the every nite Midnite Buffet. There was tons of wasted Food and Cruises were more expensive 30-35yrs ago, even with recent price increases still cheaper now -

Yup, got to act quick. Once got 2Bd/2Ba Suite for less then Balcony, had it all to myself for 13nites. These Repo Sailings typically were $3200-$3600 for Balcony Cabin with me SOLO back then and Deposits were Refundable. Paid $2200 for this Suite and canceled the other Booking. Kept waiting for notification they wanted more $$$$, as this wasnt long after that other major Royal Snafu. -

If only took that. I remember one year during annual release new Cruises Royal accidentally under priced Suites on a few Ships. Was such great deal some on Cruise Critic even paid in Full right away thinking Royal would allow their mistakes. Days later Royal gave everyone a choice, pay new higher prices what they really wanted for these Cabins or they would cancel the Bookings. -
Same. Travel constantly, hadn't had a physical "Home" in 16yrs staying Long Term Hotels, with Daughter/Grand Daughter or caring for Parents off/on last 10+ yrs very fortunate have understanding Doctors. Multiple times Ice Storms and CV keeping me away ZOOM visits 1-2 times a yr really helped last couple. Also had great local Pharmacists until 3yrs ago, Walgreens bought them out...

Diamond plus concierge lounge?
ONECRUISER replied to lulabelle's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Too many repeat Cruisers, C&A too successful. Was a Diamond in 90's and had access to CL. Back then might have at most 6-10 Diamonds(top tier then)
