  1. Radiance was also on 12, got on Jewel also last yr. I'd never seen that space open on Brilliance or Serenade, was used for storage with Fire Walls shut...
  2. I still have my old US ARMY Can Opener so I'm ready! ...In Sept there were replacing all the Emergency Rations on Serenade. Watched as they were cutting open all the old water bag rations from the Lifeboats and letting it run off the deck. 1000's of them. Maybe the old Food Rations did end up on the Menu.
  3. Though have seen stuff stacked like this EVERYWHERE, In the City & out in the Country, Georgia, LA, PHX, Detroit, Miami... Been while but many times seen things flying out back of Pickups and off the roofs of cars not being strapped down right, sometimes items were being held as the drove drown the road. Oh Look another Mattress or Chair on side of the Interstate
  4. Had one my Best Cruises on Voyager, though that was 25yrs ago when I was on Cruise #004. Defiantly one first Royal Ships Built for Families. She will always be in my Memories, hope to get on her again at someday!
  5. "Yes, there are morgues on most of the world's largest cruise ships. The larger the ship, the larger the morgue's capacity. Vessels are also required to carry body bags. Morgues are located on ships' lowest decks, generally along what the crew refers to as "I-95" — the long corridor that runs from one end of the vessel to the other. It houses storage for everything from food and alcohol to fresh flowers and miscellaneous ship equipment. (Don't worry; the morgues are kept well away from areas where food is stored.)" ...well I'd hope so! But everyone is complaining about the quality of the Food.
  6. Thanks for sharing. Serenade has always had map/chart that Cruise, wish all the Ships did. I always take picture this on day 1 each Sailing, at least then 30yrs from now I'll know where Pictures are from
  7. About every 3rd or 4th Cruise on Serenade I would end up Docked here instead on International. This every yr in Nov/Dec, a Nice Change
  8. Every year more and more people working from their Computer at home and Millions of Kids(just in USA) Home Schooled.
  9. Happens. Watched them fixing leaks/electrical issues for 3+ weeks on Radiance in Oct. Was in a HC cabin, hall and stair landing area. They even had Contractors aboard for 2 Cruises to fix.
  10. I was on Serenade doing B4B in Sept they sent me a Card to my Cabin if I wanted my Blocks onboard or sent to my House, had them sent. Last yr Traveling Solo/340+ earning double-double points when inc the CV special Double Points from back when, also had them shipped to my home. Lot easier then carrying my 3 Blocks home at a time let alone even just one. Also they were still old style Blocks but they got to be running short soon.
  11. Yes, this happens. They have to adjust when they are down a Skater or 2, hurt or not on the Ship. Seen this happen on the Stage Shows along with Ice
  12. I also would have been too excited to Sleep late nite, enjoy! Last 10yrs every one but 2 of my Delta Fights flight times changed. Sometimes it's 5-10min, many others closer to 2-4hrs...
  13. Why I stick with Radiance Class doing 10+ nite Cruises, typically 10-25 Kids, this even on 10 Thanksgiving and multiple Spring Cruises
  14. Nice, Congrats! I thought might be a few no shows then when I checked couple days ago either they hadnt assigned all Guarantees or there sure was lot of empty available cabins. Think saw about 76
  15. I scored a few OK prices(compared to others) that are Cheaper then Pre-CV, had to really look. Though in 2025 my usual Cruises are highest I've seen since 90's.
  16. We took Cruise, Me Solo with 3 young Kids taking a Red Eye getting home early on 9/11.
  17. We went to Disney World the next Month, was weird as before entering the Park they were Searching all Diaper & Camera bags, strollers and even was checking inside coat was wearing. Just happened to be week of the Florida Anthrax scare. First Cruise Paid $9 plus Taxes, next one was $750 for Owners Suite with no Solo Supplement where coming home couple days before Xmas line was out the door at Miami Airport, Take my shoes off? Just happened to be few hrs the day of Shoe Bomber.
  18. People forget in the 90's when Specialty Restaurant's were being added to Royal Ships the charge was the Tip. Rest of cutbacks started 20yrs ago but at one point I could say at least every Decade I was paying less for Cruising then the previous. Though I'm still paying less then I did on Royal in the 80's the new releases ending that trend. Everything everywhere inc Demand is up with Ship's carrying average 110% capacity so Pricing won't be going down for while. I'll stick with older Ships doing 10+ niters less cost, less passengers, less Families, at least til they are Retired/Sold off...
  19. Be interesting if delays getting All the Clothing back and how long. Lately I been getting my Wash/Fold back the next day, Though along with normal Cruise passenger Laundry, towels, table clothes, napkins, at one time they use to replace and wash Bed sheets everyday. Cabin Attendants worked hard and actually longer hrs back then when added to their daily routine making couches into beds every nite and back to couches every morning... Was counting available cabins and there are quite a few on first leg, that or many unassigned Guarantees
  20. Agree, have to look and watch but I'm still finding prices I can live with that are cheaper then even pre-CV
  21. Funny thing when started Cruising on Royal it was way more expensive then is even today, not even adding Inflation. At 20yrs old for Honeymoon I had to Finance our First Cruise. The cheapest Cruises I got were during the 10 months post 9/11
  22. Yes, Many Cruises I had Main Dining, never went and Wait Staff still got my Auto Tips
  23. Yes, was just few days ago this topic was discussed on 2 Threads Though compared to years ago Wait Staff/Cabin Attendants now have 3 times as many Passengers AND ton less work Serving/Caring for them. It was 2 Tables per Waiter, 4 Tables for the Asst Waiter with a 5 Course Meal that took 2hrs. We always had same table for Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner and our Wait Staff served us all 3. Now it's just for Dinner and we're out in 30-40min most nites, 25min when I'm SOLO. Same with Room Attendants, they went from 8 Cabins my first Cruises cleaning my room 8-10 times a day and having to make new beds every nite, now 20-24 Cabins once a day spending at most 10 min a day in my Cabin. Rates back then on my first Royal Cruise $1.25 per person per day for Waiter and Room Attendant and .50 for Asst Waiter. They work hard now? Yes! But they use to have to work even harder
  24. Years ago my Wife always said wasn't how much she spent, it's how much you saved. She was a card
  25. True, but most don't. "Baby Boomers have the second highest debt level among all adult generations carrying an average credit card balance of $6,747 and $25,812 in total non mortgage debt, behind only Gen X"
