  1. I would imagine that it will take some time. Especially if the corporate lawyers get involved. Which they should in this instance.
  2. The link I provided let me make a booking for December 29th. I didn't complete the booking. I just filled out the request up to the credit card info then backed out. At no point did it tell me that I couldn't make the reservation.
  3. If Royal is not doing the excursion? You can expect that they will refund your money. Good news though. You can cancel the Royal excursion and book yourself thru various means. The hang up is that you would have to get yourself to and from the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal. If you were to do this, the island will be much less crowded, and you'd have a better time. Just manage your time appropriately. (Assuming the cruise lines have not started selling this excursion yet) Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day | Bahamas Tour Center
  4. Thanks for the clarification Steve. I now have a better understanding. To voljeep, I misspoke and I hope I didn't lead you down the wrong path.
  5. I hope you're correct, but I don't see how. If coverage doesn't begin until 10/31 and accident happens on 10/25, why would that be a covered event? Maybe @iamtrustworthy can chime in to help me better understand.
  6. FOLLOW-UP Our crystal block arrived today via FedEx.
  7. May I suggest that as you find some free time that you go back to that brokers site and read thru the FAQ section. You’ll be amazed at how much you can learn and better understand what IS covered, how to ensure you file a claim properly if necessary, and more importantly, what is NOT covered.
  8. Is that a US thing? A Carnival thing? This past October I used electronic boarding passes to board the Royal Anthem of the Seas in Southampton.
  9. You probably need to invoke the Cancel For Any Reason provision of the policy. That would only provide you with a percentage of the cruise policy. Everything else regarding the medical costs etc are on you. Policy coverage doesn't begin until the day you board the ship.
  10. "When to buy Carnival Vacation Protection insurance" The answer is NEVER! Why? The medical coverage is secondary. No pre-existing conditions coverage for the travelers or sometimes more importantly the non-traveling family members. The medical limit is woefully low at $20K. Coverage is for the time period of the cruise only. If you fly in a day or 2 early, or extend the vaca by a day or so, you're on your own. The ONLY thing I can say positive about cruise line policy is that it includes Cancel For Any Reason and the price is not age dependent. Personally, I use a broker who offers travel policies from 9 different companies. Cost the consumer nothing, they get paid commission by the insurance companies. My broker is https://tripinsurancestore.com but there are others also like insuremytrip.com
  11. Never, ever, under any circumstances book your travel insurance thru your travel provider. That insurance that they provide (at a good price) is because it has to meet the regulations of every regulatory agency there possibly is. Each US State, each Province, each Country. The coverage is suspect, the coverages are low, the medical is secondary, and the medical does not waive pre-existing conditions for the travelers in question nor the non traveling family members that 3rd party travel insurance does. Also doesn't cover 3rd party default. (The river cruise company going bankrupt. Why? There's no 3rd party. You bought the insurance thru the first party) Back to your question. The only reason I use a TA is because my wife made friends with one. I still book the cruise and then we transfer it over to the TA so she can make a buck or 2. I book all of our air travel. Booking your air thru the cruise line means you're getting consolidated air tickets. The terms and conditions can be vastly different than what you buy direct from the airline. I book my hotels on my own. I book separate excursions. (except maybe in your case on a river cruise where the excursions are included.)
  12. I believe that Carnivals insurance does include job constraints as a covered reason. I believe that you have to get 2 signatures from officers of the company. Then again, insurance is to cover unscheduled events and you must be able to travel on the day it is purchased. Now that it is out there on the world wide web that you have not purchased the insurance yet AND you know that some people have been told they can't travel due to work, your claim should be denied. Insurance companies don't stay in business by not investigating.
  13. Sounds very frustrating. Sounds to me like you've been very patient. The only thing I can think of is: 1. File a claim with your travel insurance under Trip Interruption. 2. Go to your State Attorney Generals website to file a complaint against Royal. I would also file a complaint to the Florida State Attorney General 3. Social Media (TikTok, FB, YouTube, Threads) has had very good corporate response to viral videos. 4. Contact a consumer advocacy group like Elliott.
  14. I just saw her IG post that she lost her grandmother whom she loved very much. I think I’d give her a pass on this one.
  15. I see. I guess if what that family is choosing to do goes against your customs and culture, then THEY must be the backwards logic ones. THEY are wrong and infringing on YOUR rights. I can see how we got where we are AGAIN!
  16. Don't have an exact answer. I would think it may depend on if you purchased this from the cruise line, or if you had a 3rd party policy. My negative Nancy mind though tells me that by not seeing the medical doctor on the ship, you've given the insurance an open-ended invitation to deny any claim. Hope I'm wrong but I'm still on my first cup of coffee, so my positive side isn't awake yet.
  17. During our Anthem cruise this past October, we received a letter from the Loyalty Ambassador indicating they were out. Had us fill out a request to have it shipped to us. Haven’t heard anything since.
  18. I hope you are 110% correct about this. Admittedly, I'm not familiar with Seven Corners Annual plans. The plans I'm familiar with, the "trip" begins at 12:01AM on the day you walk out of your front door and ends on the day you walk back into your front door. Therefore, the example of B2B is 1 trip. Unless, of course, you live close enough to port that you can run by the house, check the mail, do a load of laundry, then get back to the ship maybe. Anybody please feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken. Never too old to learn something new.
  19. Are we to assume this was booked via Fly2Fun?
  20. Oh no. I understand you weren’t directing your comment to me. I was just sharing that a policy that’s only $38 can be a good policy if it fits your needs. I understood that the OP wasn’t concerned about covering the whole trip but was more concerned about medical which is how I also cover my trips.
  21. I'm a Bonvoy member, so I try to stay at Marriott properties. I'm just a little confused about these 2 properties and am hoping for clarity and some insite. Both of these properties are located at 1717 Broadway in NYC. (Corner of Broadway and 54th). How can this be? We will be choosing one or the other for our pre-cruise stay next year (Dec) for 3 or 4 nights. Please help me understand how 2 hotels can be at 1 address. Any recommendations for 1 over the other? Thanks
  22. Trick question that has no answer. IF you have a valid claim under the Terms and Conditions AND You submit all the required documentation requested. THEN You will have a much easier time with you claim with any company. Are there outlier situations. As with anything else in life, Yes. A good basic 101 travel insurance site to start with a good FAQ page would be here Travel Insurance Frequently Asked Questions « Get the Best Trip Insurance Details, Advice (tripinsurancestore.com) I have had a claim denied before, but that was because I was trying to claim for something that wasn't covered. I've had 2 other successful claims.
  23. Just sharing my info with you GeezerCouple. My policy only cost $35pp when I buy mine from Steve. The main reason being I only need to cover the medical. I risk the comprehensive part but still maintain a small portion of it by having a trip cost of $500pp.
  24. In case OP is not, here is a great Basic 101 FAQ site Travel Insurance Frequently Asked Questions « Get the Best Trip Insurance Details, Advice (tripinsurancestore.com)
  25. Unless the policy you are looking at and/or NY State requires you to, AND you're not concerned about pre-existing medical conditions for you or non-traveling family members, you don't have to cover the entire cost of the trip. I work with a well known broker and I only cover $500 pp of my trip. I "risk" the cost of the cruise if I have to cancel. What I can't risk, is the possible medical expenses. The cost of the cruise won't bankrupt me. The medical could cause financial hardship. By doing it this way, I save on insurance costs and I still receive the $100K in "primary" medical coverage.
