  1. This is exactly why I asked people to let me know if you found a link here on Cruise Critic. We are not on every page of the website every day. We need members help at times like this. Thanks for posting....I will pass it along. If anyone finds other locations where you see the sign up box, please just post a link. THANKS MUCH!
  2. There has been a lot of confusion recently about Cruise Critic parties onboard Celebrity ships. Unfortunately, Celebrity is still not hosting our parties at this time. It seems that if you "search" for a party link on Celebrity's website, one can be found and you can enter your information and receive an email confirmation. However, while the link may work, Celebrity is not hosting the parties. As soon as we receive word that the parties will be offered again, I will post here and you'll again see the sign up links on our Cruise Critic roll calls. Members are free to set a time and a place to gather onboard through your roll calls. I've done that for several cruises in the past year. My suggestion is to avoid lounges that are typically used during the day for ship activities. If you select somewhere outdoors for sailaway or something earlier in the morning (say 9:00 AM) on a sea day, you can likely avoid other ship activities. I hope this clears up confusion that is currently out there. Watch here for updates when they are available.
  3. Hi everyone ~ unfortunately I do not have good news. I did not receive good new from our Cruise Critic Community Manager. Celebrity is not hosting Cruise Critic parties onboard at this time. I mentioned that a link on Celebrity's website is working and allowing people to register. I suggested that she discusses this with Celebrity and suggest that they make that link inactive until they are doing parties again. I cannot find any link here on Cruise Critic when I'm on the roll calls for various cruises that I have coming up in the next six months. If you see a link on a roll call (without searching for a link, that is) please let me know and I'll pass that along. Cruise Critic does not activate any links on Celebrity's website. For now, my recommendation is to select a location and time on your roll call for a get together. Avoid lounges that are typically used during the day for ship activities. If you select somewhere outdoors for sailaway or something earlier in the morning (say 9:00 AM) on a sea day, you can likely avoid other ship activities. I'm very sorry that the parties aren't back up and running. As soon as I hear they are, I'll post about it.
  4. We're sailing Equinox in a few weeks and I'll try to post a LIVE FROM thread.
  5. Sent a message last night. I probably won't hear anything before Tuesday. I will post as soon as I get a response. Enjoy the holiday weekend if you are in the USA
  6. Here's another vote for only doing an SV on the Edge class (unless you can afford a suite). We don't care for the IV's either. I think SV's on decks 9 and 10 are optimal. You are sandwiched with several decks above and below you, making your cabin far enough away from hearing noise from Eden (as mentioned above) and the outdoor seating of the Oceanview Cafe. I looked at our Edge photos from 2019 and it appears that the only SV cabin balconies that can be opened are the two on either side of the ship (next to the Sky Suites) and the two in the middle. It looks like there is a solid portion of the wall between every two SV cabins (hope that makes sense)
  7. I have a message into our community manager about this topic. She is off for the holiday weekend. As soon as I hear back, I'll post the info here.
  8. It's definitely a dry dock, but given the amount of time, I too doubt it's part of the Revolution of the ship.
  9. I normally use www.toursbylocals.com in Europe to book our excursions. Don't know what might be available for your cruise but you can check it out.
  10. Just dropping in to say I hope the flights work out and you get to FLL tonight. Have a wonderful cruise.
  11. I've just read through Celebrity's Cruise with Confidence information. Before final payment, you should be able to cancel and rebook using your FCC as long as you use it before it expires. But I'm confused by some of the wording on the CWC page. I think I'm not understanding something here. Maybe others can help or contact your travel agent. Here's a link.... https://www.celebritycruises.com/cruise-with-confidence
  12. I don't know about the UK but here in the USA, my travel agent can reprice the cruise and get the lower price prior to making a final payment. You should ask your travel agent about this.
  13. I bring ALL documentation of things I paid for with me, be it a cruise, flight, hotel reservation, etc. I'm a relic who still believes in "paper." While technology (i.e. mobile devices and aps) can be great, they also have their faults. Having proof of what you paid for easily available can make a difference if you have an issue. Happy Cruising!
  14. My suggestion is when you finally get through to someone on the phone at Celebrity, ask to speak to a supervisor if it's clear that the person who answered the phone can't help you. I'd rather wait for a supervisor than to have to try to call back and wait forever again. If the supervisor can't help, take it up the ladder. It's frustrating and time-consuming but I think we are all dealing with these service issues and it's not just the cruise lines. Good luck!
  15. Dear Jeanne ~ I am so sad to read your post. Don was such a wonderful contributor to the Cruise Critic boards over the years. We will miss the terrific information and insight he always shared with us. Our sincere sympathies to you and your family!
