  1. Happy Audubon Day 🐦, Happy Arbor Day 🌳and Happy Birthday @dfish🎂! Salmon is a type of fish that is not only delicious but also incredibly healthy. It is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and a variety of vitamins and minerals. Consuming salmon on a regular basis can provide a wide range of health benefits, including reducing the risk of heart disease, improving brain function, and supporting overall wellness. There are many different types of salmon — specifically, five types of Pacific salmon and two types of Atlantic salmon. Atlantic salmon is typically farmed, while Pacific salmon species are primarily wild-caught. Wild-caught Pacific salmon are typically considered to be the healthiest salmon. Eating Well: Salmon Power Bowl, you'll get protein and a healthy dose of omega-3s from salmon, antioxidants from shredded cabbage, and plenty of fiber from farro. (You could sub quinoa or riced cauliflower.) Cumin and coriander flavor the salmon, while a fresh herb dressing coats the veggies. Salmon Power Bowls with lemon tahini sauce I like the roasted sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts and parsnips in this recipe. The lemon tahini dressing sounds delicious too. I noticed a Teriyaki Salmon Bowl on the Volendam MDR lunch menu posted by @richwmnso I thought I would include a recipe. The salmon is cooked in the air fryer (or grill/oven), set on top of a bed of rice, and topped with avocado, cucumber, mango, edamame, green onions, and cilantro. Wishing everyone the best day possible!
  2. I do not believe Meclizine can be ordered from Amazon in Canada. The OP was looking for a way to acquire Scopolamine patches outside of Canada .
  3. @Vict0riannDimenhydrinate is different from Meclizine. Both are used to prevent and treat nausea, vomiting, and dizziness caused by motion sickness. Meclizine is most effective if taken before symptoms appear. There are some useful tips for dealing with motion sickness in this thread.
  4. Arrived at 10:45 in March. Was escorted upstairs and seated with other priority guests. Boarding began with those needing extra time. Was on board before 11:30, was told rooms weren’t ready. Went to my room anyway to drop my carry on. Key was there. Met steward in hall, he said my room was ready. Went up to Seaview pool to have a drink, relax and get into the cruising spirit. Enjoy!
  5. Happy World Penguin Day! I have managed to edit my 100s of penguin pictures down to about 20; these are my favorites taken at Volunteer Point on an Adventure Falkland (Patrick Watts) tour. Although it was 50 miles from Stanley we saw over 4,000 King penguins and many thousands of Gentoo & Magellanic penguins. There were hundreds of big, brown, fluffy King penguin chicks too. Our Land Rover with 4 passengers drove in a convoy. The driver was excellent, particularly his knowledge of the Islands, its history, topography and wildlife. I highly recommend this experience if you ever lucky enough to tender into the Stanley port. Positive thought to those who need them. Cheers to those celebrating and cruising.
  6. I love aft balconies, usually book the on deck 8 and have never experienced soot. Also, the aft provides a bit more protection from the wind if you are in a cooler climate.
  7. I would pick the Koningsdam because it has verandah cabins. We use our balcony frequently, particular when viewing nature. The Zaadam has no standard balcony cabins, only suites.
  8. Article from Condé Nast Traveler magazine This New ‘Standby’ Cruise Fare Costs Just $49 Per Day—but Is It Worth It?
  9. After comments from @Cruising-along about her favorite Sauvignon Blanc regions and an informative post by @XBGuy, I thought I’d chime in too. I was amazed by the Sauvignon Blanca I drank in Chile. Excellent and inexpensive. We drank 2 bottles of this during my birthday lunch ($8 a bottle at the restaurant, same price at Total Wine here) On the way to the airport we stopped at a wonderful vineyard in the Casablanca Valley for a wine tasting This was my favorite ($12 at Total Wine). I have a difficult time describing why I like a wine but there was very little citrus, I would describe it as grassy. On another note, many have stated they prefer fresh salmon. The advantage of salmon cakes is they are delicious made with a CAN of wild Alaskan salmon. I always have canned salmon in my pantry for a quick and nutritious meal. Positive thoughts for all who need them. Cheers to those celebrating and cruising.
  10. Here’s your Roll Call. You can speak to others on your cruise there.
  11. Unfortunately BB King bands are gone from all but the Pinnacle class ships.
  12. On the NS in March, the best band was in BB Kings. The Rolling Stones Lounge was virtually empty. On the Oosterdam in February, we made do with The Rolling Stones Lounge. I appreciated that they posted their set list so I knew what kind of music to expect. I don’t care about branding. I just want good music.
  13. @ottahand7send me a message when you have time. My email is on the front page of the spreadsheets in my signature.
  14. @BermudaBound2014 Thank you for this thread and for your recommendations.
  15. The beach at Grand Turk is beautiful. The younger folks may appreciate the excitement at Margaritaville. However, I walk about 10 minutes down the beach to Jack’s Shack. I’ve also done private snorkeling tours with Blue Water Divers. Don’t hold your breath with Key West. It is frequently cancelled.
  16. What type of boat was used? I am happy to hear all the positive medical updates!
  17. @bennybearThank you for the additional photos and your advice. Great to hear whales can be seen every where. I’ve only been to Hawaii once and snorkeled Kealakakua Bay. I was lucky enough to see the spinner dolphins AND a mother whale who was pushing her baby up to the surface so it could breathe. The captain would count and point and we were lucky enough to see this several times. My niece still teases me because I was crying as I watched. First thing she said to me when I told her about seeing the whales in Antarctica was, “Did you cry?”😊 My husband prefers gardens to snorkeling. I just looked up Big Island Botanical Gardens. Wow! Can you recommend one? We are in port from 8-6 but will be tendering. Maybe renting a car would be a good idea. Is there a company near the port? @ottahand7 will also be on this cruise. Maybe we can organize our own private tour.
  18. Thank you to everyone who has posted the wonderful pictures of Kona. We’ll be there next January. @bennybearWhat is the one thing we shouldn’t miss in Kona? I’ve booked a whale watching tour with HAL but only to use up a HIA credit. Would happily cancel. I was also looking for a private snorkeling tour to Kealakekua Bay that provides wet suits. Happy to receive advice from anyone about private tours at all the Hawaiian ports.
  19. Here is the previous thread on the same topic. No one can provide additional information until the remainder of the 2026 cruise schedule is released.
  20. That was not my experience on the NS in March. We had a $200 credit and booked 2 excursions for $160. Later, we decided to book another excursion that was $49. The $40 credit that remained was applied to our 3rd excursion. We only paid the $9 balance.
  21. I figured out the night of the Morimoto pop up by looking at reservations for Tamarind. The night there are no reservations available in the Tamarind will be the night of the Morimoto pop up. My DH loves osso buco and was very happy when Canaletto started offering it every night!
