Thanks for taking the time to give us a summary. I will be interested to see how things progress. We are on the Navigator in May, so your comments are pertinent for us!

@Yankeeclipper1 What a great summary of all the nice-to-know things that make Regent special. Looking forward to seeing you in May on the Navigator!

We are joining the list of Celebrity refugees in this forum too. We are Elite with X and for the last few years only booked Sky Suites as we fell in love with the Retreat product. However X is now pricing their suites as if they were on Regent or Silver Seas. Our current 4 upcoming Sky Suite cruises are currently 20-30% higher than when we booked over a year ago. The final straw was when we looked at a Sky Suite on the Equinox for a 14 night cruise from Santiago to Buenos Aires in 2025. The Sky Suite would cost about the same as an A2 Concierge class cabin on the Marina for 18 nights. It was a no brainer, we are now booked on our first O cruise and looking forward to a more premium experience. My sister and brother in law are also joining us on this cruise and another couple we met in our roll call for our September Apex cruise decided to join us as well.
Might as well chime in. I remember seeing you on the X boards! We were more dissatisfied than pleased with Celebrity on our last few cruises (Elite, like many of you). Tried one HAL cruise, lulled by memories of a good one long ago, and ran away from that mistake. Have now done two Regent and found our happy place, but also soon trying O after years of thinking we should. Nice to have options. I personally think the folks at Celebrity have lost their marbles with what they are trying to price their cruises. 🧐🫣🤪

Most excursions are poor and not worth leaving the ship. You get what you pay for and Regent's free excursions are, for the most part, worthless.
Strongly disagree with this statement. FWIW. We have enjoyed our excursions and only found one that we felt could be improved. We have been on only two cruises with R but took full advantage of the excursions. We have ridden horses on the beach, done an ATV jungle tour, done a mangrove airboat tour, ridden camels…..and none of the tours was a huge bus of people, but small vans. Great experiences that added greatly to both cruises. Looking forward to more Regent tours.

Will you be spending any time in Montreal?
I wish we were! But I take care of our twin grands, who are 7, and they are getting out of school for the summer so we have to come straight back home.
-
@CruiserFromMaine FWIW, we are on the Navigator in May, Miami to Montreal. When we booked the hotel was the Brickell. But we were notified about a week ago that the hotel has been switched to the Mandarin Oriental. Regent apparently heard and heeded the dissatisfaction regarding the Brickell. I’m sorry this happened too late for you. It’s disappointing to start a luxury cruise with a less than luxury hotel. Many thanks for your review!

We are taking our first Oceania cruise in November and I really appreciate the time you are taking to post. Lots of good info for those of us who are new to O. Thanks!

I totally concur with Sagrada Familia. For me it was almost heart wrenchingly beautiful. What a testament to the vision of one single man. In all the places we have visited, it is the most treasured memory and I felt humbled to have the opportunity to see it. You can always go back to see Las Ramblas someday and if you don’t, I don’t think you will have missed too much. But to miss Sagrada Familia would be so sad, IMO. Definitely get a reservation and a guide adds so much. Let us know what you decide!

@Damaris1900 it did it to me, too….so I put a hyphen in the name to get it to show something close to the real name of the author. Weird! If you look up that author, take the hyphen out of Green-wood! 🧐🙄

This is a lists of books and series I have maintained for several years. Periodically someone will request it or give suggestions and I post it again on CC. It has been requested to be posted as a thread and in the Watercooler so I am doing both. I have hesitated to post it previously for fear of not being able to maintain new suggestions, but will give it a try.
if you have suggestions, please use @GeorgiaPeach51 so I will receive a notification and will know to update it. Many books and series listed are mysteries, but not all. So feel free to suggest anything you enjoy, and we will all give this a try! This is for all of us who love to read and have great anxiety when we get to the end of a series with no idea what to read next! 🥰

Yes, please, post this to the Watercooler. Then we can add some of our own.
@Wendy The Wandererand @2012_Alaska_bound as requested, I am putting this up as its’ own post and in the watercooler…..it seems to me that it will be easier to find and track if it is the only thing rather than people having to search thru the watercooler, but don’t know for sure. I’ll attempt to keep it updated.

@asnaleah. Here you go..the updated list. Thanks for the suggestion!
FYI, if you don’t know, this is an ongoing list I have kept for several years, compiling book suggestions when we were sailing on Celebrity a lot. Periodically someone will request it or give suggestions. I have hesitated to make it a separate post on its’ own for fear of being inundated with suggestions and unable to keep up, but will do so if there seems to be enough interest. Most are mysteries, but certainly not all.

We were recently on Splendor and really enjoyed her. We have fled Celebrity after many years and dollars and after two cruises on Splendor and Explorer, which we loved, We will be trying the Navigator next. Regent is a happy fit for us, and your description of what you are looking for in a cruise is exactly where we are. I hope you love it!

Would love to meet with you for dinner sometime! It has been a while since we all met in the pool on the Explorer. Knowing how particular you are, based on our conversations, I am now excited about Navigator, whereas before, I had a little trepidation. If YOU like it, we are sure to like it! 😀
