  1. I would be put off. Fortunately, I have not experienced this much. In fact, the only time I receive unwanted phone calls was from a pesky pain-in-the-neck from the often touted premium line. That was a long time ago. I suppose if you log on then they have what they need to contact you. Otherwise, how would they have a phone number I wonder? (I think I just made a rhyme, Lol).
  2. If you were told this by someone other than the cruise line, then just ignore them.
  3. That has to be a rare (and kind of bizarre) happening. I think you made the right call!
  4. For us it is bottom line pricing. I think different folks will have different reasons or priorities for a travel agent. Some might be looking for the best all-in concierge type service.
  5. Nautical & Classy. Lots of exterior windows in common areas. Oh, and chocolates on pillows. 😁
  6. Well, the OP has received some good advice about how to possibly accomplish what they want. Too bad they haven't come back to acknowledge.
  7. I'm thinking you mean an internal policy applicable to employees. I cannot imagine a rule prohibiting passengers from offering to hand over money.
  8. @Tufor, welcome to cruise critic. This question comes up from time to time. Circle back and let us know if you were able to make NYC your final port. Thanks.
  9. Well, I think your case is completely rational and justifiable. Problem is you apparently have the fine print going against you. I think you should make your case in writing directly to the agency. True they will survive if they lose one good customer, but they don't want to lose a good customer. I'm not going to be surprised if you have already done this. I hope the health issue has a positive resolution.
  10. For whatever reason Mrs Ldubs has started to prefer traveling with Kipling bags of various shapes, sizes, & colors. She will bring two or three so she can mix and match I suppose. I like them because they have a monkey keychain thing (they are also a lot easier on the pocketbook than the designer ones).
  11. This is so true of the pastries. Now that you mention it, they all do seem to be the same. I wonder if they all use Hostess variety packs. Haha.
  12. Good info. Regarding your question about the device's wattage rating, what is too much?
  13. So, we are in agreement, at least somewhat.
  14. Red beans and corn bread. I think we may have slightly different tastes!
  15. Aw man. Some things are just head shakers. This is one.
  16. Seems I commonly hear the CD make a remark or two about the most traveled person. But, like you say, it has been a while since I recall hearing anything about the group being gathered for recognition.
  17. No, it is not an elite perk. It is a most traveled recognition. Of course, in practice I cannot imagine the most traveled are not at elite status. I wonder if that has ever happened.
  18. Not following. What have you cut back? Do you no longer use Princess? It is for the most traveled, not everyone. If not in the top 20, or whatever the cut-off, then you are not among the most traveled group.
  19. It is all about that garlic butter and a piece of bread roll.
  20. I think I might try reaching out to the US State Department.
  21. No buffet when we get home after a cruise. I complained to Mrs Ldubs about that and got the old eye roll. 😄
  22. I have seen folks video recording during shows. They shouldn't but it isn't a pearl clutch moment for me. Other stuff I probably just don't notice. I am in complete control of what will get me angry, upset, or ruin my day.
