  1. Before booking , interview the TA that you are about to book with. Cruise Specialist? CLIA Training , level. Cruise Line training accomplished. Years in the business? You may be amazed at the Cruise Experience those large online cruise agencies Home Based agents have . Only then consider his/her advice. You may be amazed how many TA's are merely order takers.
  2. I think that “Budget” is being asked for before recommending as wishing a small ship on a holiday itinerary, for most cruisers , will be a shocker $$$ compared to mass market holiday cruises.
  3. You can book Cunard Complete Air at reasonable rates , especially 1 way , if you us a TA or call Cunard to book .
  4. Cruise lines and cruise lengths have different Final Payment dates. Research for the cruises that meet your preferences, then watch. Before ever booking Direct , contact TA's rates and other goodies that they may offer for that cruise.
  5. Leave it to Cunard to install glitches making a simple survey complicated.
  6. QM2 Verandah . We have watched walkups being denied a table yet several tables remained un occupied for the whole time we dined there? May be still a staffing issue?
  7. The Verandah is a good enough special treat for us Brittania diners. Viewing the smokers outside is not a good thing though. Often see single cruisers by themselves at a table for 2 or 4 . Never heard of anyone booking a Verandah reservation requesting to Share?
  8. Completed my survey on my Iphone no problem. I wonder if it will generate better or worse benefit changes?
  9. Presidents Week in Feb. should be your main concern. Many schools not only take off on Monday, Presidents Day , but the entire week. Feb 19 2024 Feb 17 2025
  10. Your big ticket booking should have earned some nice extra benefits with a good Cruise Specialist TA. OBC, Specialty Dinners , Tips , etc. It may be too late to transfer your bookings now .
  11. A cruise photo given to a First Time Cruiser to take home show their friends and family, is advertising at the minimalist cost to RCI. Should be encouraged.
  12. Best off to put a Hold on that cabin before asking for info here.
  13. We always order a Cappuccino after dinner in Brittannia, no charge.
  14. The 2hr thing is gone now . It is 8am to 8pm I recall. Book @ the Spa Desk as soon as you board. Seems the Rates are negotiable for long voyages but cost us $199p/p for 8 night TA in May. Thermo Pool still needs the 2018 promised Update that never happened.
  15. We have added Cunard Complete Air to our US Booking thru our Travel Agents POLAR Booking Tool on our past few TA's . We chose the Flexiable Fare choice which does not require payment until Cunards Final Payment. It may be deleted up until then ,without penalty. Since it is an actual airline reservation we have been able to choose seats without any airfare payment. The Fare has always been much better than booking with the airline. Just hoping that when we are able to add Cunard Complete to our2024 TA (330 days) that the fare is not as bad as predicted here.
  16. Collecting Final Payment is your Travel Agents job and part of what they do to earn their commission . 100% TA's error.
  17. "Some of the reasons that we didn't love our last cruise: the crowds, long waits to embark, and a fair number of pushy/rude passengers". That has not gotten better and a bit worse. However choosing one of the Older, Smaller ships on any of the mass market cruise lines will help you discover cruising again in early December.
  18. Port fees and taxs for him will be refunded to original form of payment.
  19. What ship can be more "Traditional" than Cunard's QM2 , the only Liner still sailing . Has a lot of the Formailty of the past if that is what you wish.
  20. Have a Good TA help you decide and set up a group for you to get all the benefits of your own group as well as taking over answering questions and chasing down the collection of deposits and Final Payments. Costs you nothing.
  21. Best to resolve your concerns Onboard before speculating here.
  22. Won on our 1st RCCL (Royal Caribbean Cruise Line) Sun Viking cruise in 1984 for participating in the showroom show . On that tiny 17,000 ton ship the cruise director incorporated guests in most entertainment. Nice 7 night 1 way itinerary Barbados to Miami and vice/versa. I can’t imagine ever giving out ash trays now a days 😉
  23. Great suggestion here . Have all the Gala Nights that you wish to have .
