  1. I totally agree. And that leaves P&O open to the abuse of the ' I can't travel I have covid' excuse.
  2. I think they could have given more notice, to give us a chance to make say one move per cruise booked. Just litle bit more consideration for customers and a little less consideration for the bottom line goes a long way.
  3. I had been thinking about moving our family holiday (11 of us) from Iona in the May half term next year to Sky Princess. We booked Iona on launch and at time Sky was much more expensive but now I can get deluxe balconies on Sky for the same price as outside cabins on Iona. But if I have to move to a cruise of equal or higher value I am not sure how that will work as we are paying for everyone. Perhaps I need to do the Maths to see if it's worthwhile losing my deposit.🤔
  4. That is just so insulting. Never heard about having to have 3 cards and with such high limits. I wonder what Simon Calder would say about that? And what are their Medical Disembarkment procedures? When we were in isolation on Princess we were told they followed the European rules. Good news about your aunt, I hope she is well cared for and makes a good recovery
  5. We are going on Azura and the dates clash otherwise I would go. I hope they offer something like that again.
  6. It's the long ones going in September 2022.
  7. Yes but we don't know how may crew are in isolation or will be in the next few days. Hoefully none!
  8. But what about the passenger experience? I am referring to those in isolation.. by removing restrictions of course there will be more cases on the ship. Isolation is no fun so why not just get rid of the requirement to isolate?
  9. Yes I agree. My husband had a runny nose and was shocked when he tested positive. We did have a long think about whether we should report it or not and "doing the right thing" won out. One of the positives of our confinement on our Enchanted Princess cruise was that room service was efficient. But at the time the staff to passenger ratio was almost 1:1 so you would expect it to be fine. We are due an FCC for our days in quarantine but 6 weeks on there is no sign of it.
  10. No 3, we felt very guilty about the possibility of infecting someone else so my DH rang medical. However it appears most people think it's an allergy/aircon so don't bother to report their symptoms. Until cruise lines get the message out to passengers that they must report symptoms regardless of a previous history of allergies/cruise cough/aircon. You would think they would be very hot on finding cases so they can protect their staff from illness and put an end to a reduced entertainment and restaurants etc. BTW, no track and trace on Princess in May as it's very complicated and alot of work, so I was told.
  11. I can't see it is sustainable. Now for me the question is 'Should passengers and staff who test positive on board go into isolation?' I am inclined to think what is the point? I certainly don't want to go into isolotion again
  12. I completely agree. People are (probably) incubating covid when they get on board, then it spreads around. Some people own up and go into isolation, some people don't own up, and some think it's hayfever/cruise cough/ anything else the can think of in their state of denial. Next thing speciality restaurants close, afternoon tea is cancelled and entertainment shows are whitled down because covid is rife amongst the staff (on top the recruitment issues) and passengers complain about it all and want to be compensated. So in my view cruise lines are failing in their duty of care towards their staff and to protect them they need to be enforcing mask wearing, social distancing and hand washing amongst passengers. They need to actively seek cases out and slow down the spread on board. The pay off? More staff will remain well and then the cruise lines will be able keep more facilities open. The cost to us - mask wearing, handwashing and not sharing tables at dinner . A cost worth whie paying. So just to say if I sound strident well I am feeling a bit annoyed because we caught covid on a cruise, ( not in a port and not beforehand) and although it was mild it ruined our holiday and I don't want anyone else going through what we did. BTW we wore masks, but they are no good if you are in a tiny minority. I know my comments aren't without flaw, it's just my opinion and of course some will agree and some won't. C'est la vie!
  13. Oh I am so sorry to hear this. I will join you in praying for a miracle
  14. Deck 9 port and starboard when I was in one in May
  15. I've been having a little chat with P&O on their faceache page abiout the extra obc. After a few vague answers I have actually asked if my next cruise is one of the selected cruises. Still waiting for the answer which I expect will be one of yes or no or just ignore me. My vote is with the latter.
  16. For anyone interested there is a group for Carnival Shareholders on a certain social media site.
  17. Thanks. We are on Azura on October 6th. I think we booked a saver fare, did you book select or saver?
  18. Mm, so did we. I will see what they say. Which cruise did you get it for please?
  19. I have just remembered the subject of extra obc came up a few months ago. I think it's only for those who book direct with P&O?
  20. We've had nothing for our Azura cruise in October and we have just paid in full. I wonder what criteria is used when choosing which sailings will get extra obc?
  21. I have done a bit more digging and I have found Princess passengers are also complaining about some of the ships, Emerald being one of them.
  22. I was on Enchanted a few weeks ago, it was fully staffed but only 50% full. No food shortages. I think Enchanted is the newest Princess ship so may be they have put more resources into her than other Princess ships? However if this is not the case and Princess is managing things well across the fleet then shame on P&O, and Cunard from what I've been told by friends who have sailed on both recently.
  23. There is talk elsewhere of Epicurian closing for 2 months on every ship due to "supply issues". Not sure if that is food supplies, staff or both.
  24. Having paid £399 or was it £499 for my grandsons to go on Iona for a week next year I shall be very annoyed if the chidren's clubs aren't open. They love them and I shall expect a refund if they are not!
  25. We caught covid on Enchanted on the May 2nd-June 3rd sailing. We think we caught it by sharing tables at dinner. Every where else we wore masks. Tables for 2 were hard to come by even though there were only 1400 passengers on board. There were 9 isolation cabins in use 4 on starboard and 5 on port side. We did see someone in a hazmat suit clean and spray all the cabins we could see tat were not in use. Lots of cleaning going on around the ship but it's theonly sip i've been on where the balcony is covered in salt. However the doors to the public toilets were very heavy and you had no choice but to touch the handles and push hard. They could have kept the main entrance doors to the toilets open so there would have been less touching.
