  1. My 12 year old can and does lol. Crystal has the same policy of no shorts and only shirts with a collar after 6pm and I have no issue with it at all. My issue is changing in the middle of a cruise after selling to both my kids that they can wear what they want. Your review made me looking forward to this so much more btw so thank you for it, it’s everything you said and more!
  2. On the ship now, I have no issues with dress codes. When we went on SS I wore a suit or jacket nightly and my wife dressed up as well. I do have an issue with a line pushing the no dress code narrative prior to coming on the ship now imposing a dress code after we are already here. A lot of “corporate told us to” on the ship. The food is the best I have had at sea, crystal was next but this is on another level. I agree entertainment is odd but they do have two shows a night in a fairly large space and we enjoy the trivia and other activities. I’ll also so this line has been amazing with children, they handed out gift at Christmas, not cheap ones, and have worked hard to provide a great experience for families. I wouldn’t hesitate to go on this line again.
  3. Same here, 220.00 a person for the spring national park per person is wild.
  4. Full menu here, I believe they said its the same menu across the board.
  5. Never know with 75 kids, while my 14 year old may want to sit at the bar, I do not when I'm with them lol.
  6. We are on this but only the first leg with two adults and a 12/14 year olds. Good to hear there will be other kids on board, I'm sure its going to be very different with 700 vs. 350.
  7. Hey there totally understand given you’re on your last day if you can’t find out but both of my boys love playing basketball and we’re excited about the half court being there. They both asked me if they should bring basketballs with them and I was going to, but I figured I’d ask to if you have an opportunity to see if they have any there. Thanks for all the photos looks like fun!
  8. I had this same issue as I had OT2 but with two king rooms and two teen boys going with us later this month. EJ did a poor job explaining this as it is so different from every other line. My TA worked with EJ and they were nice enough to move us to OT3 rooms so my boys didn’t need to share a bed.
  9. couldn’t agree more here, just so much down time with nothing to do. I’m disappointed by the lack of activities beyond trivia and the occasional talk. 4.5 hours on land and 5 hours in a zodiac across 10 days just isn’t enough activity. I’m happy we went and enjoyed the time with my wife but many of the others I spoke to felt the same way. I did more on a standard Silverseas cruise around Iceland than I did here. Happy to check it off the list and on to more!
  10. Just to say I streamed all NFL games on Thanksgiving and the Black Friday game yesterday. No issues at all, very impressed with how well this worked close to the poles.
  11. Yes there is a spa, if you want massage treatments I would book before hand as it’s a very small staff and were fully booked on sea days prior to coming onboard. They do the normal 10/20/30 discounts and packages, I believe its oneworldspa that runs it.
  12. 100% agree, I’m shocked at this afternoon being focused so much on the shopping and how many boxes of “gifts” they are bringing onboard. I’m very happy we got to see and experience this but the amount of down time is staggering.
  13. Great to hear, we are taking our boys, 12 and 13, for Christmas and they are looking forward to it!
  14. Yes! We are getting them for our sons. Smaller chicks are 17.00 and larger ones are 40.00. They also have some whales.
  15. Totally agree and even asked that early on as I’m not sure why try this early in the season. Foggy wasted morning 😞. I’m not thrilled with the afternoon being a gift shop sell us things mission either though I’m sure they are nice people. Hopefully we have better luck on our last day tomorrow!
  16. O Oh don’t be. It’s super fun and everyone is friendly. Just my observations and it is really about the destination. Our last SS cruise the food was bad but the service and people were great so it is often a mixed bag just like in life.
  17. I was in a hoodie and jeans lol. Sorry in advance! I have also noticed they don’t have enough service staff to support the bars and dining areas. Very different from SS or Crystal in that regard and something we find we have missed. I did ask the assistant maître D who you noted was covering, along with the hostess, and he said they are under staffed and looking to add a waiter the next time they are in port. We have spoken with several staff and it’s surprising how unhappy or almost melancholy they seem. Overall I was surprised as the lack of support structure. We often found people who didn’t know what was going on and there were not people around to direct them. We have enjoyed this trip, food is good and the views are amazing, but I am surprised about the level of service compared to comparable lines.
  18. Fairly certain this is cheaper than SS, I would be interested to know if anyone has used them as they supposedly aren’t using the normal steiner international folks.
  19. Agree with folks above. We have done Crystal, Azamara, and Silversea without kids and have done NCL Haven with our kids. We knew we’d be traded the small ship feel and service for more things for our boys to do and I am glad we did. I’m looking forward to taking our two boys on Explora in December as it seems to have a balance of both.
  20. Thanks for posting all these photos, excited to see more videos. Can’t wait to see it in person in December.
  21. I think I can top that. No jacket, no tie, on his cell phone in Atlantide. The woman next to us was in a nice casual top and jeans and she was from Italy. I am never bringing a tie again.
  22. We did leave at noon and everything seems fine. Always an adventure but better with pizza.
