  1. it depends on the ship, i am on the Escape in November 16 days and the price of the Spa pass is 399.
  2. it depends on the ship. We spent Halloween on the Epic and they organized costume competitions and even a Haunted House.
  3. a mini bar is very different from a Butler, a Butler has been hired to do a specific job and some feel by dismissing him or her, you are taking away their job. My question simply is, if someone has the option of simply asking for that person not to be there while making the reservation it saves time and grievance for dismissing that person , hence my original question. I get what you are saying, i am going by threads of people who have said they would consider the Haven if they can get rid of the Butler completely. If someone wants the Butler they have nothing to worry about, this is meant as a hypothetical scenario for those who don't.
  4. LOL and here you are, classic JRK, i was waiting for you my dear. 🙂
  5. because if you read my question i am specifically asking people whom on other threads have said they are tempted to bid or consider the Haven but are turned off by the idea of the butler because they don't want them or have any use for them, so if they could say NO to a butler from the start would they feel inclined to consider a Haven suite.
  6. hmm don't recall not having a choice being part of my questions, or forcing themselves on me either but ok.
  7. I have read on other threads that some people would like to book a suite in the Haven but they don't want a Butler. I wonder, if you had a choice to forfeit the butler service before your cruise, would someone be more prone to booking a Haven Suite? Also, if someone wins a bid for a Haven suite does it come with a butler? and if it does, would you be more interested in bidding if you knew the butler is not part of the service when you bid?. just curious.
  8. if someone wins a bid for a suite in the Haven, does it come with the Butler? and can you forfeit the Butler if you have no use for them?
  9. I believe we are on this same cruise if this is the TA on the Epic next April, we also liked the price. We have been on the Epic 5 times and we enjoy the ship. As i said before, peoples reviews and opinions are subjective and should be taken as such. The epic is not that old and i believe is been refurbished. Enjoy your cruise.
  10. that's ridiculous that they refunded over 3 months considering we don't pay for it in installments but right up front. 😏
  11. I read on another thread that some people have received the upgrade at the check in desk...so anything can happen.
  12. they dropped Bermuda on my Nov 1 Transatlantic cruise, posted the new itinerary today.
  13. We are bidding on 4 staterooms, and there are still 55 days out. In the past, we have received rejection letters, one in particular was sent a day before the cruise. We have never won a bid but then again we are always in the " poor" to "fair" section.
  14. I have a question about bid upgrades. We currently purchase the Spa passes on the NCL Escape. We are currently bidding on 3 categories including a Haven Spa penthouse suite. If we win the Haven suite, we are willing to forfeit the spa passes, how do you go about asking for a refund for the spa passes? specially if upgrades bids are given days before the cruise, and we may be traveling by then, anyone know anything about this? Do you ask for the refund for the spa passes on board? in the past we have never gotten the upgrade, but we are curious on how to go about it, if it does happen. Thank you.
  15. We are on the same cruise. We are also breathing a sigh of relief
  16. We had this stop in November and thankfully we have just been informed that they removed Bermuda from the itinerary.
  17. Again we do the basic pricing just as we do with NCl we don’t drink we don’t care for specialty restaurants, wifi etc. so price for price i found Celebrity cheaper without all the add ons, i said it in my original post.
  18. Yes, just noticed. We don’t ever take drinking package or dining package so i am looking at the basic price which is what we do with NCl.. but thank you for the info
  19. We just saw a transatlantic on Celebrity for next November for 16 days compared to NCL 10 day. 12 day, cruises on the same dates, Celebrity is a lot cheaper. The 16 day cruise with Celebrity starts out at $610 dollars inside cabin and even 1200 for a VERANDA compared to NCL starting prices at 1000 dollars for lower category staterooms and as i said less days. We have never been on Celebrity, but looking at their prices they are definitely more competitive, of course we have to consider the add-ons.
  20. kids are kids. We were 6 kids and when our parents took us on vacation we were pretty much free, but then again it we grew up during the days when mom only had to give us the look and we would behave LOL that said, we try to book cruises when children are in school, Transatlantics being an alternative. 🙂 we have never had problems with unruly children, i agree with that children have a right to enjoy their vacation like anyone else.
  21. when people complain we book anyway. We take people reviews and complaints with a grain of salt. We have only booked NCL for the past 13 years and only a couple of times have we found some things subpar but at the end of the day we enjoy all our cruises.
  22. For us there is or was. Our Travel agent encouraged us to book on board if we did we would get extra on board credit from her, plus other goodies. The last time we booked on board we received extra 10 off, plus a free upgrade to a higher category. Unfortunately we just had to let go our booking agent because she stopped working for us, and we now have a new agent. We will see what he offers if we decide to book on board on our next cruise.
