  2. Our first cruise on NCL was in 2009 a Transatlantic out of Barcelona on the NCL Gem. We love the ship, freestyle dining, casual dress which now i am told other cruise lines are adopting. We love seeing new ships and comparing within the same fleet. We enjoy the MDR, have always found meals we enjoy and other times not so much, We like Moderno specialty restaurant, other people don't, Some people like Cagneys, we don't, we have found better steaks in the MDR. I guess is all about personal choice. We haven't done any other cruise line, and that's because we feel the grass on not always greener on the other side, we like the itineraries we choose, and everyday find a new itinerary we have not done. We have considered another cruise line, mainly Celebrity but mostly because we knew a lady who love the cruise line but for the time being we like NCL ships.
  3. may i ask if it was with a good offer or better or just minimum bid? the reason i am inquiring is because i have friends who tell me is not possible, that all bids good or bad are always approved or declined same week of the cruise.
  4. has anyone ever been notified about their upgrade, more than 2 weeks out before their cruise? just curious.
  5. same here and the TA we had was never really helpful. When we first got her she was an NCL specialist according to her, but then after a while whenever i asked her a question she made me go directly to NCL so at the end i was dealing with NCL myself. She was never in her office, always traveling, in fact she left Sept 1 and wont be back to her office until Sept 30. We recently dropped her.
  6. so true, we have one that is constantly traveling, out of the office, and when a cruise decreases in price she is never around to get the deal. We recently changed to a new TA, so far so good.
  7. to me the Thermal spa on the Jade is not worth it at all, aside from the NCL Sun which doesn't have a thermal suite the one on the Jade unless is been refurbished i found it small and not too comfortable.
  8. I just got my new passport, i debated whether to pay the extra $30 dollars to get the card as well. The way things are today and being latino is probably a good idea to carry that card with me at all times, but then decided to just get the passport by itself. Some people have said that getting the passport takes a long time, mine only took 3 weeks, regular mail, not expedited.The rest of my family have the card, they swear by it, is a personal choice.
  9. having a Brita pitcher is doing your part? since when? you have to replace those filters that end up in land fills :-).....

  11. Well Del Rio did admit to raising prices again, he can always squeeze from cruises a little more money here and there, so not surprising 🙂

  13. nope, remember, they have to clean the ship and staterooms, boarding usually starts at 11 am.
  14. not the first time i have heard this about the service charge not going to them.
  15. precruise are usually $20 dollars cheaper i believe but we have purchased them on board and used OBC.
  16. do you know passenger capacity on my coming cruise on the Escape, in Nov? LOL..
  17. imagine being in the spa if it were freezing in there, everyone in their bathing suit, wet. LOL, The word " Thermal" should give someone a clue of the temperature in the spa...LOL
  18. relax, enjoy, breathe, and most importantly be quiet and speak with inside voice. People read, take naps, enjoy the thermal pool, the sauna etc.
  19. those were provided by a bank and when we got them as gifts we knew they would charge fees. We never let them go dormant, we got them, we used them. Thankfully we used them all. Good luck
  20. i've never seen it on the ships i have been on, but then again i hardly use the outside pools.
  21. I remember the days when the spa pass was a hidden gem, I remember you could be there and it was quiet and relaxing, these days, although i still enjoy the spa, is not as quiet as it used to be.
  22. We were told by our TA that NCL does not offer any adjustment after final payment, according to her they are cracking down on that and not budging. In the past they would give you the difference in onboard credit but not anymore
  23. I am so glad you got my point and i think you were the only one. 👏No, i never suggested an " a la carte services" but you know how it is with some people perceptions.
