  1. Tender platforms are generally on deck 3. You can take a midship/not glass elevator from anywhere on the ship to deck 4. Then there is a small, very slow, elevator off to the corner that will take you from deck 4 to deck 3. Scooters are not allowed, but they “may” load a collapsible wheel chair/walker. Remember that the two “boats” are rising and falling independently of each other. Also, bring a cane.
  2. Not quite true. If the other person has insurance, they will be refunded cruise fare minus cost of insurance. If the other person did not have insurance, then... 1. They will not be refunded anything 2. You will be charged a solo supplement if you did not purchase insurance. Happened to me at the last minute. It was a "short" cruise, bought under 90 days...why would I need insurance???, other passenger bailed out on me. I had to pay a solo supplement.
  3. I am glad I am not the only one who is running into these issues. Thank you for sharing. @Jeall Welcome to Cruise Critic. The majority of posters are friendly and willing to share and answer questions. Once you get on the ship, you will love the experience. I know how frustrating it can be and I’ve been around for a while. My travel mate (new to Princess) isn’t happy either. For those trying to book excursions, try doing it from the app (I haven’t tried that). You can always call Princess, but they are not able to take payments on the phone or via chat. I know they can help you make a reservation but don’t know how you pay for it.
  4. EZ Air has its limitations since they are a concession dealing with group bookings. They "purchase" x amount of seats per carrier. When they sell all of those, they remove that option from the selections. Unfortunately, EZ Air can not do anything about flights that are cancelled by the airlines. They will try to rebook you, but if your fare is not available (sold out), there is little they will do but reroute you in a fare that is closest to what you paid. Case in point. Quebec to LAX summer 2023. Canadian Air cancelled all of their flights on Rouge from Quebec. They worked for 2 weeks to get me rebooked. In the meantime, I "found" a decent departure but for hundreds of dollars more. EZ Air would not allow me to book the 1 PM or 3 PM flight (not in my fare grouping). They did get me on a 5 PM flight that gave me a 90 (or was it 60) minute connection. I barely made it/last call boarding. If airlines cancel, EZ Air guarantees to get you to your destination. That's about it. Always fly in a day early. Be pro-active and watch your booking on the airline/not Princess. Unfortunately, EZ Air cannot do anything about potential problems. Have a refundable back up that you can claim through your travel insurance. The good about EZ Air is that PVP covers air portion of cruise. You also have up to 45 days out to make modifications to your booking (too late for this cruise). Good Luck.
  5. Which direction (full transit)? If North to South / the Pacific Ocean can be a little rough as you travel up the coast If South to North / as you come out of the canal, the Caribbean can be a little rough
  6. I take Bonine with me. Non-drowsy chewable medication. Rarely have to use it. I also have sea bands for the wrists. I take my cane for really rough seas. You will know it is bad when there are barf bags taped to walls and trash cans everywhere. Other non-medical: Paper bag between clothing and stomach Green apples Look at the horizon (not tested)
  7. Similar experience. Chat agent could see that I cancelled excursion. Previous agents (more than one) have quoted 24 hours and 7-10 day). Most recent agent could see that Princess owes me money and would "escalate" my refund to her supervisor. I should see refund anywhere from 10-14 days. Doesn't know why it wasn't processed a week ago. I finally received an email back from customer service on another issue 10 days after I sent it.
  8. If I begin a chat, I figure I might as well wait on the (speaker) phone too. I have been in the same queue. 75 in front of you. Are you still there? One in front of you. Are you still there. Left and 3 hours later, are you still there? Chat is a painful joke. I will admit that I have encountered useless agents AND some that were very nice. I also think it is a big joke that they always thank me for my loyalty AND try to upsell my Beverage Package.
  9. Yes, you can go above her head. If not Customer Service Officer and/or revenue person. I have been "fighting" with Princess on my next cruise. Fianlly starting to see some resolutions. It's not just the mini-bar, it's also laundry, discounts, and other perks that she is denying you as an elite member. While you are in her office, request that she allow you to call Captain Circle office land based to rectify the issue (on her dime).
  10. Posted on wrong thread as caught by @JF - retired RRT 22 hours ago, cr8tiv1 said: @cr8tiv1 oops! Different thread, but that may be what the problem is.
  11. Will I need to exchange US dollars for local currency or may I use credit cards and tip in US $. Spoke to a Princess agent. She told me that all the excursions for my CB voyage were cancelled although showing sold out. Thank you for your honest review @DCThunder.
  12. I was just on this fall cruise. Mid-October to November 1. The best colors were from Montreal to Quebec on a train. Really did not see much color in the ports. It is very hard to predict this far out. i had booked 3 voyages to see the Cherry Blossoms in Japan (March or April). As the 90 day till final payment got closer, I had to pick a date. Even then, it was difficult. I happened to keep the very best week. All the trees as we sailed south were perfect!
  13. I was in Taiwan when the US dollar was devalued. Cash was worthless and in limbo for 48 hours. No one wanted to take a chance and/or exchange the US dollar. Most interesting travel time.
  14. I am so over my head. It is working 80% of the time. I will take that as an improvement (without me modifying any settings). But I will take all of these suggestions to heart when I have a load of time to work with my son-in-law...remotely. He says we "can make time to screen share). Wish they lived closer. I was hoping this would be a real quick and easy fix....or that it wasn't my problem but Princess. Thanks again @AlpacaBag for all of your suggestions.
  15. After thought. Frontier sent me a new modem a couple of months ago but I never had time to set it up. Would that "solve" the corruption problem? Same other problem. Set up new modem....change/reconnect all of my devices (Alexa/firestick, etc).
  16. Would changing these settings interfere with my connections to Alexa, fire stick, and all the other smart devices I have in my home?
  17. Wow, I haven't dealt with a tour company that wanted that much in US cash. Interesting.
  18. The best way to experience Japan is to do your homework. Most ports that Princess docks are are far away from the main city/town. Often, Princess will provide a shuttle for a fee or catch a taxi if you have a few people. Be sure to have a translator app. Many taxi drivers do not speak English. I generally have hard copies of where I want to be dropped off and a photo of the ship so that I can be returned. https://www.mlit.go.jp/kankocho/cruise/detail/091/index.html
  19. That's Greek to me...TTL? Thank you to those still trying to help me out. I'm willing to try anything (within my capabilities) to get this resolved. I don't mind the time outs, as long as I can eventually get in. It shouldn't be this frustrating though. Planning for cruising should be enjoyable.
  20. Another day...just like the weather: Wait until tomorrow. (adapted from Mark Twain) I didn't do anything differently, but had no problems accessing Princess today. I did have to prompt the address bar a couple of extra times, but fare quotes came up AND I was able to get into my account. sigh
  21. Do not attach them before flying. Bring a stapler or duck tape.
  22. I always travel with my cruise tag holders attached to my luggage (without Princess inserts). Be sure they are folded a little smaller than instructed. Slip them into the holder as soon as you pull your luggage from the carousel. I love my holders with metal rings. But they are difficult to put on/take off with arthritic fingers. So they stay on. Also...hint...color the screw end (or other end) so that you can "see" that you are moving in the correct direction.
  23. I have been a victim of Identity Theft. I am very careful who gets what information. Why is it mandatory for Princess to force us into giving our financial information to a place I will not patronize? It should be an optional sign up. It was before. You are correct. Princess has access to our information. Doesn’t mean that I have to like that.
