  1. I bought 300 shares 3 years ago and it is basically at the same price as when I bought it. I should have sold it when it hit $ 20 a share 2 years ago.
  2. We get off ship and head to nearest hotel, like Embassy Suites. Go inside and ask them to hold your luggage until later. $ 10 will do the job. Come back later when you are ready to go to the airport and pick up your luggage. We have done this several times for late flights. You can explore on your own. The hotel doent know you are not staying there. They have a huge room for storing luggage at E.S.
  3. Uber or lift would be my choice. Looks to be about a 6-7 mile trip from the airport to the hotel, and about a 3 miles then to the port. Not sure on prices.
  4. We also have used V.T. several times. Best deal in Ft. Lauderdale.
  5. I also recommend Hyatt Place, It is both close to the airport and the port. Never had any issues and have been there 7-8 times in the past 5 years or so.
  6. Until May 1st. hotels are $ 300 a night and most are higher. 1 of the reasons we always wait until May to cruise.
  7. Im 5'8" and have a ton of leg room. Almost a foot to the seat in front of me.
  8. What do you mean squeeze into a Spirit Flight? If you have not flown Spirit in about 3 years, they have replaced 80% of their planes and have plenty of leg room. A lot more than they used to have.
  9. It is over rated by most people that stay there. We stayed there 1 time 1 year ago because Hyatt Place was booked and we like the area. E.S. is a huge, crowded, really slow elevators on cruise morning, our bathroom looked as it was original from the day it was built, and was really nasty. I would never stay there again. There are much nicer hotels in this area that are better all around. Hilton Fort. Lauderdale Marina, Renaissance, Holiday Inn, Four Points By Sheraton, and our go to hotel is Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port.
  10. E.S. is like Wallmart. I'll stay at a nicer hotel and buy my own food. All hotels in this area are nicer.
  11. Don't stay at E.S. It is really dated inside the rooms. It is very busy, elevators are really slow, crowded. We have been to almost every hotel on 17th street and would rate E.S. dead last. Our choice is Hyatt Place on S.E. 10th. street 1 block behind E.S. Much newer, cleaner, been there well over 8 times. Never been to Renaissance.
  12. While they are paid union dock workers they always have their hand out. I give them 5 single dollars.
  13. Hyatt Place off 17th. st. is one of the best places to stay in Lauderdale if not wanting to be on the beach. The 17th. street area is close to the port and the airport, within 10 min ride. We have been to it over 6 times now and have been to almost all of the hotels along 17th. street and like it the best.
  14. They will allow early check in as soon as a room is available. We have been in a rom as early as 9.00 am. Staff there is super friendly and accomodating.
  15. All of the water on the ship is generated from the ship from a process called reverse osmosis. It is 100 % pure with no contaminates.
  16. It is easier to get into a cab than try and find your uber. There will be hundreds of cars in line. The police do a great job of getting passengers into cabs.
  17. It was pretty dam good back in October. You have to get it when it first opens up, cause its warm. I always feed the dogs three that are wandering around.
  18. I would just get a cab and go to the hotel. They will hold all your luggage until check in. There are plenty of places to eat or walk to near the hotel to kill some time. Parking overnight there is high.
  19. Had this happen to our luggage many, many, years ago. Ruined 1 whole suitcase with red wine. We now pack everything in garbage bags inside our luggage. Live and learn from stupid people who have to bring their own wine.
  20. Uber or Lift prices can vary. Sasrideshare charges $15 p.p. or $ 13 if 3 persons or more.
