  1. I would not try to use my phone because if you drop it you would never find it. The exception would be if you had a chest strap to secure it. They don't object to filming. We lost are action camera by leaving it in the gondola and so we didn't get that video.
  2. The one way itinerary opens up more of Alaska, and you connect through Seward so the Alaska Railroad is a great option too or from Anchorage. We have done the bus once and the train once. The bus is quicker but the train is better.
  3. She loved it, the ride up the gondola was a whole another story
  4. We were in Icy Strait Point in May of 2022 and we did the Gondolas and the Zip line. Here is a look at the zipline.
  5. We did several things in Icy Strait Point last year, we did the whale watching, the zip line, and the cannery tour and loved all of them.
  6. Here is a video clip from Whale watching in Icy Strait Point.
  7. Here is a video clip of the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's tour, and it is one of our favorites in Ketchikan.
  8. We were on the southbound Radiance and loved it. I would book the train from the ship to the airport or reverse. I would also say spend an extra day in both Seward and in Vancouver (at least 1)
  9. Today was a our last day at Ocean Cay, and we wound up with our snorkeling excursion being canceled, the sea-do excursions were canceled as well due to high seas. On the island the weather was good and swimming was easy.
  10. Yesterday was a beautiful day in the Bahamas. I stayed on board and worked on videos and my wife and granddaughter went shopping, not so much buying though the did bring a few things back. There were 2 Carnival, 2 MSC and one RCCL in port. We are at Ocean Cay today, and the weather has been ok, a few passing rain showers and a little wind, but not bad. My granddaughter and I went kayaking, and we went from the lagoon to the lighthouse. We enjoyed it and the waves were manageable but enough to make it interesting. We are getting to overnight, which is super nice, and we are in Cabin 1008 which is a starboard front balcony so we will have the perfect place to watch the light show.
  11. We like to board early so we can get photos before the ship gets jammed up. My wife travels with a wheelchair, so we are usually among the first boarded, and this time we were supposed to have priority boarding because we were in an Aurea suite. We don't run into these issues with other cruise lines. Not to this scale.
  12. I will try to scan and share the menus and the dailies. Part of the reason the sail away was so late was we had a passenger board about 6:30, which was the official departure time. I am not sure why they waited but apparently they were waiting, it wasn't long after they boarded they pulled the gang plank. Here is what it looked like waiting to checkin.
  13. Thanks for that information.
  14. Today we are in Nassau and it is a beautiful day. The ride last night was so smooth, you couldnt tell you weren't still tied to the dock. Dinner was good, they had Prime Rib, and mine was perfect, medium rare and tender. They said it came with a loaded baked potato, but mine was just a baked potato, and you had to ask for sour cream and use the butter on the table. More from today later.
  15. I am not sure, but it may have.
  16. I don't know where she returned from this sailing is just a 4 night to the Bahamas. I asked, but nobody seemed to know anything about anything. I did verify that you get access to the thermal suite, but you have to make reservations. We did have prosecco and chocolate in the room.
  17. This cruise is off to a poor start. The wait to get into the terminal was terrible. There were probably 1K or more lined up outside. It was about 1:30 when they started boarding, and they were very slow in processing people, so you were waiting in the gang way for quite a while. We were an hour late sailing away, and the sail away party was over for at least 30 minutes before we sailed.
  18. We just boarded the ship and have Aurea package, I did not see any priority in checking or boarding. I would say the Divina in Miami is the worst boarding process I have seen in 20 cruises since the pandemic ended. We will see what we think, but I can see I am not likely to recommend this to my friends so far.
  19. I am still working on it, got home and got buried with things I needed to do. On a cruise this week, I will try to finish when I get back. Here is a link to what I have uploaded, it isn't pretty but you can see some of the dailies. https://www.travelingwithachair.com/nieuw-amsterdam-downloads-8d6c78e0-f9f5-4253-af3d-11ff40d65fc5
  20. We were staying on Barbados prior to boarding the Rhapsody of the Seas. And here is a blog post about what we did as a tour. We used Blessed Blossom Transport and Taxi Services. Here is a description of a what we accomplished in a half day tour. The trip to the Animal Flower Cave was so worth it. https://www.travelingwithachair.com/blog/accessible-barbados-day-trips
  21. We went to Oisteens and had a great time. We felt very safe, the food was good, and we got there early so we had a great sunset. I will be posting a video of it later.
  22. We were in Barbados before our Rhapsody of the Seas cruise and spent four days touring. It is an amazing place. If your cruise starts or stops there, it is worth a few days. Here is a video showing one of the amazing places we visited.
  23. Blessed Blossom Taxi and Tours has a wheelchair accessible van they use for tours, taxi, and transfer service. We used them, and they were super helpful.
  24. Here is a video of the whale watching trip in Icy Strait Point.
