  1. She's getting her fair share of liver treats (her fave). She knows how to milk it. LOL!
  2. I find the pre-cruise support to be quite good. Their excursion desk pre-cruise is quite knowledgeable and helpful, as just one example. Agree about post-cruise support to be spotty, at best. But, I’ve learned over the years not to let any open issues linger. Take care of them while on board. Billing, fees refunds, customer service failures, etc….best to address them on board where they strive to identify the issue and rectify it while you’re in front of them.
  3. She sees me pulling out luggage. She knows something's up and she doesn't like it...one little bit.
  4. No issue. I sail solo a lot, recently. Sometimes NCL has a solo rate that does not include a solo supplement. This isn’t one of those. I’m paying the fare for 2 to sail solo. But, I don’t have to pay taxes, fees, tips, etc for a 2nd person, so that saves a little.
  5. Amen to that. I'm already starting to re-arrange my back pack, doing a mental check of toiletries, making sure I still remember the combination for the lock on the luggage, and wondering if it's too early in the day to start my hydration regiment I use once on board.....;)

  7. The “:SAILAWAY” rates, which deduct the Free at Sea perks, aren’t available for Haven Suites. So, in reality, Haven guests get the FAS package.
  8. Great deal…curious, what was the promo to allow 3 CN certs vs the usual 2?
  9. I love that you also dressed for “Prom”!!!!!!

  11. I think if you believe you are susceptible to potentially spreading COVID, you should wear a mask. Then again, if you believe you have COVID before you board, let NCL know and get their specific instructions!
  12. I asked my Doc about that because I had heard that also. He said the Covid relapse could occur regardless of the treatment (or no treatment at all). As a virus, it mutates. So, yeah, it could r occur. But not because of Paxlovid!
  13. I just went to look again, and it's gone. Amazon does those every once in a while. They usually only last a day. Sorry! But, if it happened once, it's likely to happen again. Just keep your eyes on them.
  14. Epic Bathrooms....Shower in a separate enclosure on one side using a sliding frosted class door. Toilet on the other side with a frosted glass door. Sink outside next to the shower enclosure. Someone can be showering while another can be using the toilet.....or one can brush their teeth while the other facilities are being used. I like it.
  15. This was about 10 years ago, but I paid $3,800 (for the cabin, not per person) all in for a Spa Haven Suite on the Breakaway for a 7 day Bermuda cruise out of NYC. That was before they tacked on the tips as extra cost for the drink package, also. Gotta say, my current 2 Bedroom Suite on the Epic next month for 11 days using the recent 20% off coupons they were touting this Spring put my fare with fees, taxes, etc included was at $4,900...again for the cabin, not per person. That's before OBC, Military discount and a rebate from my TA, which brought it down to ~$4,100. I consider that really good, too. There is no "upsell" with NCL. You bid on cabins you may want. I don't bother bidding any more. If I want a cabin, I will book it. If I see a reasonable upgrade rate, I'm on it.
  16. While I am empathetic to the OP's plight, this seems to be more a confluence of events that no one, not even NCL could rectify. You can't stay on the ship. The hotels won't let you check in early. Guesthouses would have been my choice in all honesty. I'd have stayed there for a few hours, used the antiseptic wipes everywhere you could in the room and/or bathroom. Do the same when you are able to check into your hotel. Aside from that, don't know that there's much more you could have done. What they did right after the Pandemic had subsided really has no bearing on today, given the amount and the severity of cases have dropped dramatically. Paxlovid knocks out the virus pretty quickly. So, by now, I think you've probably recovered. It's just one of those circumstances that what could go wrong, did go wrong. Happens in life.
  17. Gary…talk about a way to advertise upsells, have a M&G in the Haven. 😉
  18. Just snagged a deal on an Amazon “flash sale” for 4 AirTags for $20/ea….$80 total. Have used them before. Great devices…especially if you’re flying and/or cruising. Bon Voyage!!!!
  19. I think most roll calls here on CC offer a Meet and Greet. NCL does a nice job in welcoming us and allowing for face time with the senior officers. I don’t know if they’d offer a M&G in the Haven, but worth an ask. All they can say is no. They could have it in the pool/lounge area.
  20. You know, I probably shouldn't but this is just one of those things that goes way outside of Cruise Critic's intent from where I sit. I have to be careful, as someone took my last advice and reported me, where the ADMINS admonished me. They were right to do so as the post was frivolous at best. But seriously, it seems the OP is looking for validation here. Not sure anyone can grant it. Although, some are trying. Question was asked "am I the bad guy?". I'll throw my hat into this ring. You asked. I'll answer since you're looking for opinions. Lord knows I've got plenty of relationship experience (some good...some bad). 50 years old? Looking for support from a group of strangers, on the internet no less? In all frankness, this is something that should be handled by a professional. We don't know who you are. We don't know who the "other party" in this scenario is. Regardless of the length of time they've been dating, apparently it's not serious enough to her to warrant a generous offer of a cruise, all expenses paid. No matter, there's a lack of understanding on the expectations of this relationship, or even if there's a relationship at all, at least from her perspective. Granted, I'm older than 50 by over a decade. I'm single, have been for a little while. I do date. Matter of fact, the last woman I dated (for about 5 months)....super sweet person.....won a trip via her work to Nassau all expenses paid. She invited me to go about 3 months ago. I liked her. I thought (think) she is/was a fine person. I was flattered she thought of me to accompany her. But, it would have sent the wrong message to her if I would have accepted the invite. She thought of our relationship much differently than I did. So, I totally understand where the female in this situation is coming from. I do not fault the lady in this scenario, in the least. I applaud her. She could have taken advantage of the OP's generosity and then had fun while making him sleep on the couch (not sure of the Haven Cabin he had, but assuming for $11K it was big enough to offer a main bed and at least a pull out couch, where she could have insisted he sleep while she and her son slept in the main bed. I also understand the hurt the OP felt when he was rejected. As he said, he's "heart broken". Emotional hurt is many times more damaging than physical hurt. It certainly lingers longer and takes longer to heal. I suspect this was the end of their relationship as it's clear expectations were way different among the two of them. Not sure who broke up with whom. But, it's just the end of.....a...what exactly? Not sure it can be classified as a relationship. I don't get that impression it was. No "bad guy" here. Lick your wounds. Move on. As an aside, the nice woman who invited me to vacation with her never spoke to me again after I told her I couldn't accept her very generous offer. I guess that means she "broke up" with me. I feel better about being honest with her than I would have by taking her up on the vacation offer. Although, sucking down some Pina Colladas sitting on a beach sounds pretty good right now.
  21. They have them on the huge screen in the Atrium. But, that's on a 7 nite. Not certain on a 4-5 nite. Should be listed in the Daily Planner.
  22. I was just perusing that same back pack. My other eBags back pack is getting ragged.
  23. I believe they keep sending them out until they have a record of all guests having viewed it. I'm sure it's a blanket, batch message that dies not differentiate between who has and who hasn't viewed it.
  24. Some may find this helpful. Thanks to my good friend @DCGuy64 who posted this elsewhere….travel restrictions from wherever to wherever! https://apply.joinsherpa.com/travel-restrictions?affiliateId=sherpa&language=en-US
