  1. I read the question assuming they have already booked. Maybe this was not the case with the poster, but after a booking, there are times where I have to go back to my booking and find out what terms I booked if I start think I may have (or want) to cancel.
  2. On your booking invoice, you can check the cancellation terms,
  3. The promo still states Prepaid grats for Cyber Monday. Have a call with our PCC booked for tomorrow - so I guess we will find out ..
  4. If the Early Booking Bonus shows up against the cruise - it is eligible. There are no hard rules for the dates in which that is eligible, but it seems to be things booked about a year or more in advance. The 90 days within launch offer is a different offer - called a Mariner Early Booking Bonus https://www.hollandamerica.com/en/ca/cruise-deals/mariner-early-booking-bonus So they end up being in the order of 2 years out. They don't mark them like they do for EBB, so you have to just watch the website or email notices for when new itineraries are being launched. If you search the news link in HAL's site you can find out old launch dates. https://www.hollandamerica.com/en/ca/news/2023 If you book with 90 days of launch, you get both offers so good if you are a long term planner 😎 The BF (now Cyber Monday) sale may not mean much if you are booking a cruise far enough out for early booking bonus HIA offer (with grats already included).
  5. I just tried a "mock-splurge" booking on a Veranda, and again the fare is only discounted on the "we select your room" option. Possibly, it is just an error with the website as I can never continue the booking past that page as the next summary page is always blank for me these days.
  6. Just another tidbit - of late, it seems, our Casino discount only appears against the "we select your room" option. No big deal for us, and not sure if that applies to everybody. If you got a $65 dollar come back and play ... you are likely in our range of gambling as we got one for $75 once so I will now bore you with out experience. 🙄 With that level. we have always maintained our casino fare discount since sailing with HAL (coming out of Covid). We have received some "free" cabins some time ago, but believe those days are gone (except for Carniva,l who we have not sailed with in years and gambled virtually nothing then... we are still getting daily free cabins offer for last minute cruises with them). We now seem to be on a list getting periodic offers for "deeply discounted" cruises which are relatively close to sailing (within 2-3 months?). I think with those, our stockholder OBC and AARP OBC benefits are not eligible (not sure as we have not booked one, but they are definitely not if you book a "free" cabin). Overall, at our Casino discount level and preferring to book with HIA (which being part of your fare, is discounted as opposed to being $55/pp/day if added to a deep discount of free cabin), our best deals are generally still booking early takoing advantage of early bonuses and using our normal Casino discount on the fare and then being eligible for our stockholder and AARP OBC credits. It is continually changing though, and what I have said may be out of date before I finish typing this ...🤔
  7. Was a little worried they would increase the fare a bit with the reduced deposit but appears not. 😃 Now I just have to decide if it worth using my FCD now or just take the smaller $25 deposit and save my FCD for another cruise... hhhmm. OOOORRRR - book just 2 cruises - one with FCD and one at $25 deposit - 😜.
  8. I did and I got an agent who when I told him the price I was getting with my Casino discount he said I would have to call in to talk to the Casino department M-F...??? Anyhoo... I just gave up. I REALLY expect the Black Friday deal to become Cyber Monday equivalent deal. If not, we will just wait to book at some other sale (it is almost a year out). The funniest part is I get the "Your cruise is a few clicks away" email reminder from HAL that I haven't finished the booking 🙄
  9. I agreem I am looking at mine now and that seems to be the case. My "Thank You" is good for 3 months from disembarking.
  10. Thanks. We've tried that, but then when I log in - it throws me back into a Canadian site. It seems the problem only occurs when I log in. I can carry a booking through to final pricing, but then when it asks me to login for member pricing, it takes me back to a Summary "death" page. Must be a Canadian member site bug, so I'll call in and ask for a hold.
  11. Thanks everyone. I am going to try hubby's tablet (maybe my machine problem) and/or going in through the US site to see if I have any better luck. If still no luck getting the hold, will call in and see what they can do.
  12. I can do mock bookings until I get to the "summary" page ... which is just blank (no error... just blank), and as such no where to navigate. Have tried Chrome (ingonito) and Safari... can never past a blank summary page. I've never been concerned because I can at least always search see what my Casino fare is going to be, just can't book or hold anything. Could be just a Canadian site problem ... it's soooooo close to working 😐
  13. The debate is not the "per day", but , is it ..."per person" or ..."per cabin" ... per day. I believe per person as "fares" are typically per person not per cabin.
  14. I have a small conundrum .. we are looking to book a cruise under the Black Friday deal which is "in theory" going to end today (although I highly anticipate it will extend into Cyber Monday though the week to Dec 1 which is an end date I see for the promotion an on-line booking agency). Our PCC is not available until later this week and I can't get the website to get to a point to allow me to hold a cruise. Can I call in and do the booking, but still have the PCC get the credit? It's not a big deal to us either way, but just like to throw the PCC the booking if I can.
  15. Ahh Kohl's - it's been a while since I have been - but I always loved the Olympic level math involved. I have yet to see another retailer do a better job of having so many discounts applied on other discounts. 😃
  16. I think with the 90days - you are confusions EBB with Mariner Early Booking Bonus - which provides extra OBC if booked with 90 days of launch. The "run of the mill" Early Booking Bonus continues much longer after launch. They are independent and you can get both is you book within 90 days of launch. 😃
  17. They expire tomorrow ... but then it is time for Cyber Monday sales... so likely just a new name and similar offer I am guessing ....
  18. When I click the link (which is US) I am taken to a Canadian link but it doesn't say if it is US or CDN for us. Is an interesting offer for sure. We are inside GTY cabin folks generally, so worth a bit of investigation for us (-:
  19. We did the California Zephyr - it was maybe 2008-09 - was a great trip. Have done distance trains - coast to coast Canada, coast to coast Australia but still just that one Amtrak trip (so far) ....
  20. Oddly enough we are quite introverted, and yet in the past, we really enjoyed shared dining and never actually bad experience. Weirdly as an introvert, it was easy to engage socially with people in a dinner format. Over the last few years though, there seem to be just too many topics being brought up that I'd rather not chat about on my vacation, and so we no longer dine with others. Shared dining is just a fond distance memory for us now and will stay that way.
  21. The 1.30 rate was the last rate I remember from summer, so good to see they are still holding that rate 😃 I wonder if Electro's experience in having to purchase and use OBC was handled differently for some odd (but maybe legitimate?) reason? Can't think of any reason why they would have charged it that way though....
  22. Maybe that has changed (for the gratuities). Not a huge deal, but kind of a bummer, I know they used to add and then remove the gratuities everyday on the account, but I "thought" on our last cruise (Sept/Oct) that was not the case anymore but could be remembering that wrong. I don't recall it ever showing up as some form of OBC though. It would show up as a charge and then add a credit to reverse (forget how they labelled that credit back, but not OBC). It makes sense if it was considered OBC that it was charged in US$, as OBC is strictly US$. ...Weird ....things are always changing though.
  23. when they add it onto your booking (which is in CAD$) do you get a seperate charge to your card in US$ or does HAL not convert and charge you in CAD$? On our cruises in CA$, they always convert it and charge us in CAD$. Same as when we have added in HIA after booking - when it was a charge of $50 US/pp/day, it would be converted to a CAD$ value and that value would be better than we could do by a few points (maybe 5 points better was about what I remember on our last booking a while ago) edit: By prepay I am referring to BEFORE you get on the ship. If you get on the ship and go to guest services and prepay grats, you would then be charged in US$. As a side note, this does not apply to excursions, dinners etc. Those are all charges US$ regardless of when you buy them.
