  1. So, under the old system, you would have consumed 8 drinks up to when the bars close early the next day. In essence you would have been dry from the time that the bars closed until midnight. Really🤣
  2. Thanks for your unbiased review. Surprisingly, unless I missed it, you are the first to provide any feedback on the new menu. Looking forward to further reviews and especially the lobster as to the size and quality. Note: IMO, your reviews should be as a topic.
  3. Has anyone had experience if one uses miles for an airline ticket and purchases trip insurance as part of this transaction. Does the insurance company reimburse for the replacement cost of airfare, etc.
  4. Did you ever consider that the food was not to their liking. On my December 4 Oasis sail, I was dying for tuna salad in the WJ. They put out chicken and egg salad, but alas no tuna. One day they had seafood salad. I said to myself wonder what the ingredients are. So, I took a couple of spoons, and the damn dish was bland and no taste--simply disgusting. I was in no way eating such garbage. I remember prior to pandemic they used to have wonderful and tasty sandwiches made with wraps, rolls and subs. Now they just put the stuff out.
  5. Oh, good grief. Will be stopping in PC in a couple of weeks sailing from Bayonne and was hoping to make it a beach day.🙏
  6. Are you a C&A member. Many times, I find that the C&A desk is more attuned.
  7. The $83.99 applies in the cruise planner and it's for 2 specialty restaurants--Chop's being one. Then there's the C&A BOGO coupon available to D+ and higher which can be used for 2 diners either on the 1st or 2nd nights. Also, the BOGO can be used by 1 diner on the 1st and 2nd nights. Some Maitre Ds are a bit flexible with the 1 diner being able to convert the 2nd restaurant at a different night than the 2nd. Confusing🤣
  8. I can only tell you that the actual $ (30%/60%) reductions I found is usually more than the advertised % off. For instance, booked a cabin on Oasis for my kids and the gross fare before any discounts is $3,026 and the so called 30% off should total $907.80, but in actuality the reduction = 35+% or $1,070. I've included the 60% off a 2nd Pax.as this is another promo that Royal runs periodically. For others the only way you can be satisfied is to do mock booking with or without some of the discounts. I do know that in the past any senior or resident discounts are separately shown. Some on this board call it Royal Dynamic Pricing. By the way, the balcony discount is not affected by the % off fare except when it's used in conjunction to solo supplement fare at least in my case. Hope this helps. PS. Someone maybe can confirm the following statement. Based on memory, once upon a time, Royal began applying the % off after netting the gross fare and any discounts, e.g., balcony, etc. But along the way they ceased this practice.
  9. Did you do a mock booking and see the results. I just did a mock booking CP balcony for Oasis in August '23 and the D+ balcony discount of $250 is included. I don't think just because it's a guarantee that it would affect the discount. Call again. Also, the shareholder's OBC benefit is after the fact. You apply after a booking,
  10. I've got one dated 2012 and has the same language. However, when I bought the cert on board the promo OBC was based on # of nights. The 6-9 niter was for $100 in OBC. Got the same attachment of the promo as "Coralc." Ps. I had a different issue with solo supplement promo (DP340) when I used it the first time. The on-board agent could not enter multiple promos in their system. So, she entered the on-board booking promo and had me call stateside to apply the solo promo. They wanted to reduce the on-board booking promo to some weird $ amount of less than $50. I argued with them that one has nothing to do with the other as the offer simply calls for an OBC for on board booking. Good news, my entire amount of $100 was reinstated. Fast forward, I'm also a shareholder and had some trepidation that my shareholders OBC of $100 was going to be denied especially since it was in the midst of the pandemic. But no hassle whatsoever.
  11. Which ship, as the new menus have not been updated on all ships. My Feb. 4 Anthem sail still shows the original menu.
  12. You may be right, but no greeting--just asking for an access code. The C&A person could not identify that number. Also, the Casino Royale desk is 888.561.2234
  13. I believe we dined to the restaurant next door. To right, as you are facing the restaurants.
  14. Yes, as a Lobster Roll. Did multiple cruises with stops in Maine and took tours that stopped in Kennebunkport for lunch and one of those restaurants there, served delicious Lobster Rolls. A bit expensive I might add.
  15. No, my normal travel agency is in New Hampshire and area code of 603. Plus, no indication of a specific business. In addition, the cruise that I was on was booked via Casino Royale desk.
  16. Funny, I'm not sure where they get these telephone # that are printed on the certificate and like you I booked thru the C&A desk and asked the agent if he can identify the number. He came back a few minutes later and no clue. Tele # on my certificate is 305.982.2694. Tried a few times as I figured that I made an error. Each time there was no Royal greeting and kept asking for an access #. Area code is a Florida/Miami.
  17. As others have said, have your spouse call up and identify herself as one of your nieces. You are not doing this in virtual/zoom mode, so the Royal agent has no clue as whom they are speaking with.
  18. What was on the Pinnies lunch. Disappointed with the D+ lunch with an Officer on the recent Oasis December sail. No soup(s) and the steak was veiny and chewwy. However, the Royal chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream was excellent. Pax's were raving about the banana split dessert form the kiddie's menu, but alas no longer available in the new menu.
  19. Sometimes you get the add'l lobster with all of the trimmings as you would get the initial one.😆
  20. By the way, maybe I'm dating myself, but the weekly menu was in a folder in your cabin. Also, if I recall, the specialty dining menus were available on your I/A TV. Ahh, those simpler days. Got a big laugh, cruised with my son and family and their cabin was a couple of doors away and same cabin attendant. I kept getting the paper cruise planner each night and they weren't. So, they asked the attendant and he told them only Paxs 65+ were to receive them. I guess Royal doesn't think that those 65+ are not teck savvy.😜
  21. I know that Royal has a call center in the Philippines as I have spoken to them many times. Anyway, to call them locally. I had a situation during the pandemic in that FCCs were issued to my kids (even though I paid for entire trip) for a cancelled Harmony trip. I wanted to have the FCCs transferred to my name and I was told to send Royal a letter signed by my kids authorizing the transfers. It worked well as I was able to use them accordingly. The frustration was trying to get a clear and concise answer/resolution during that terrible period.
  22. You only gamble $100 pp if no sail. If 10 nights or more, you will get $200 for a balcony cabin. In addition, if a Royal shareholder you can apply for an add'l $100 of OBC.
  23. Also, to the OP. If you are not sure of a specific sail, you could get a next cruise certificate and book later. You have 2 months to convert to an actual sail to earn the OBC. Deposit is $200 per cabin. If you do not book an actual sail within a year the deposit is forfeited.
