  1. Many times, I also found that 2 balcony cabins to be cheaper than quads and not sure that's it is all IT doing. Someone has to say a kind word, occasionally.😄
  2. Yes. There was no difference in pricings a few years ago. Also, there aren't as many and you should do a mock booking and see the difference in the pricing.
  3. Your math escapes me. How large was your party. The average Chop's cost in the $55 range per X grats. Therefore, if a party of 4 and using 2 BOGOs, it should be $110 + grats.
  4. Agree, the creamed was blah. Also, the view looking at the lifeboats makes the experience a bit off.
  5. For the price, you are getting a better quality of service and ambiance, plus nicer appetizers (love the size of the shrimps cocktail )and desserts as you want. What I noticed on my recent Anthem sail, was that the sides are advertised as family style. but the portions are smaller than what I remember. As a solo, it was worth as i used the D+ BOGO coupon and used it for Jamie's and the entire meal was fantastic.
  6. Sailed on Anthem Easter time and I signed up for the Surf @$21.99 per day. The service was so slow if one needed to look up on the internet. This may have been due to capacity @80%, some 1,200 kids & very windy for the entire cruise. No problem using the APP or texting. Was so frustrated & tired of seeing a fluttering circle on my screen, that on the 3rd day, I upgraded to the S&S @$26.99 per day. Sticker shock anybody. Ps. Speaking of age & technology, my son's family joined me on this sail, and they were not getting the paper version of the cruise planner. However, I was getting it as usual nicely placed on my bed each night. They asked the cabin attendant for the reason, and they were told that only those Paxs 65+ were fortunate to receive the paper version. I guess Royal doesn't think much of us when it comes tom technology.😜
  7. You are right. I was thinking that the 3 sea days was going South and not coming back North. I should have realized as I sailed on Anthem's on Easter week. So, in essence the arrival day is the 3rd, even though Anthem docks at 6 in the morning. Does not make any sense, do you happen to know the reason for the 3 sea days rule.
  8. Allure was orange on the January 22 sail and it's orange now. Oasis, way back in September was orange and it was their first sail since the pandemic.
  9. I personally feel more comfortable on a ship than flying and having to navigate wall to wall people that I recently experienced at Orlando and Fort Lauderdale airports. Flying home from those airports and going thru security was a nightmare. Basically, one on top of another. plus the boarding process wasn't any easier. I sailed this Easter on Anthem out of Bayonne with my son and family. A couple of instances which I found a bit of concern. The Monday of that sail, the weather was plainly miserable. Heavvy winds and rain. Since this was my son + first time on this vessel, I wanted to give them a guided tour. One of the stops was the Sea Plex followed by the indoor pool area. What I saw probably would shock the CDC. The bars were some 7-8 deep and the pool was filled with mostly kids and with hardly any area to swim. But the bigger shock was seeing both adults and kids in the hot tubs. Usually, I see maybe 8-10 at any given time, but what I saw was in the area of 20+ occupants. The second incident was disembarking at Port Canaveral. Anthem arrived about 11:30 and it took somewhere in the 45 minute range to get clearance to disembark. I did not realize that disembarking would take place at the 5th deck. Passengers began congregating as soon as we docked if not sooner. I told my family to meet me at deck 5. Not to exxagerate, but there were wall to wall passengers eager to get off. The line(s) stretched way back to 2X70 and got even denser as more Paxs came down form stairs and elevators. We were packed like sardines. Some wore masks (I did) and many others did not. It seemed like an eternity waiting for the disembarking process to begin. Some Royal newbies kept asking those around if this was typical disembarking procedure at ports. We kept saying no, but could not give any reasons for the bottleneck. We had a tour booked to the Kennedy Space Center and my son and his family got stuck on the stairs going down to the 5th deck. They finally showed up at the meeting point some 25 minutes later than the assigned time of 12:45 PM. The last bus had to wait for them. I was getting concerned that we would not be able to make it. From my standpoint, never encountered anything such this. Personally, they should have issued tickets to families on first come, first served as they used to when tendering at ports without piers. Also, they usually have Pax with tours disembark first. Ps. Anthem was sailing at about 80% capacity and with some 1,200 kids. Did not hear or any instances of any Covid illnesses. Also, it was very windy the entire 7 days. I usually jog around 5 AM as I'm an early riser and nice not having to compete with anyone on the track. On Tuesday, I began my exercise and when I got to the front of the ship, it was so windy that I could not make the incline and never made it to the other side.😁 I gave up and walked around the Royal Esplanades on deck 4 & 5.
  10. I booked an CP balcony for Easter 2016 on Oasis for my daughter and family. Booked a quad with an adjoining cabin next to our wash to provide some flexibility in washing and general dressing tasks. Although my grandkids were 8 & 6 respectively it was tight and barely able to move about the cabin. We Christmas gifted a second cruise on Allure for Easter 2018. This time, I priced 2 CP adjoining cabins and I could not believe that the 2 cabins were cheaper than the quad. In addition, Royal was running a NR Neighborhood special with perks per cabin of $100 OBC, bottle of wine, and lunch for 2 in a specialty restaurant. Since my grandkids were young, I placed my daughter with one and my SIL with the other. Sleeping arrangements-- adults slept in one cabin and the kids in the other. Followed the same road map for planned the sail on Harmony for Easter 2020, but the pandemic had other plans.
  11. If there was a glitch in the original booking, it's been there for more than 2 months. Where do you find the exclusions to this promo.
  12. Was trying to see if any price drops for my August '23 Oasis sail and when I enter the DP340 in the promo section it states "The promo code entered is invalid/not applicable." Could be Royal's IT issues. Has anyone had a similar issue. Was valid when I booked on board.
  13. Yes, I have plenty of key chains.😄 Als, I have many baseball hats and a few polo shirts that you were able to exchange for the points earned. They should bring back Shipshape $ as I'm running out of tees.😜
  14. I used both the perk and the earnings on my last night. I postponed it as I found out that if you cash your earnings your play action for the sail goes back to 0.
  15. You may need to ask for the paper version. On my recent Anthem Cruise, my son and DIL asked our cabins steward why they weren't getting the paper version and I was. They were told that only those Pax 65+ are getting them. I assume that Royal thinks that those over at 65+ aren't techie enough.😜 And yet, I was having so much trouble with the APP in making reservations for the North Star and unable to make reservations in person. Finally asked the DL Concierge to make them for me.
  16. We've done 4 Meds cruises from Barcelona and always arrived the day of the sail. Sometimes, the flight got us to the airport so early that we had to wait. HOWEVER, this was before the PANDEMIC. IMHO, don't chance it. If you are willing to absorb the cancellation fee get a hotel for the night. A
  17. Yes, and you can request a table by a window. You may have to wait for the window request.
  18. I know where you are coming from. I had my granddaughter, who is not vaccinated, sailing on Anthem and she had to take an antigen test 2 days prior to arrival and the process was very smooth and organized. My DIL received an assigned time for the test and the (negative) test results was communicated via e-mail within 30-45 minutes of testing.
  19. Molly, thank you for your kind words. I'm also sad for your loss. Love Allure, and will be sailing her in late August on an 8 niter to Curacao & Aruba. To the OP, since you are skitteriest in flying, thank God you are not flying from the Northeast. Today, it's feels like a hurricane.
  20. At least this has a top. On Anthem's recent sail, you could not get a top in the WJ to take coffee out as they are made of plastics. However, you could get plastic lids in the D lounge and the promenade cafe. Pax were bringing plastic lids form the cafe to the WJ.😆
