  1. And I want you carry on to fit properly in the bin...if above me. Probably my biggest non-ethical problem.
  2. So good. And our caviar shop (yes, we have a caviar shop) recommended to try it on Tom'Original chips. Really outstanding.
  3. Are the beds movable? If so, I'd push them both up against one of the 'side' walls. Will give you a lot more space I bet.
  4. And your point is? What I'm saying is that we blew money on the cruise that - for us in that case - could have been better used.
  5. We've done scores more diy land trips and escorted trips than cruises. Mainly because we want to really visit a place. Dubrovnik was a stop on an escorted tour. A couple of ships were in and the place was completely mobbed. Shoulder to shoulder. We finally took a side street and then another and found quiet. And a nice place to have lunch and wine. There's been recent posting about the large cruise ships and their damage to the ports. And that they don't make all that much money. Pre-covid and our last cruise, we cruised from Rio to Buenos Aires (two cities by the way that you couldn't possibly 'do' in a couple of days.) Since then we kinda kicked ourselves that we didn't 'just' go back Rio and then fly to BA. We're not beach people so that factor doesn't affect us. Back to your beginning: "Given your desire to have everything locked in stone," LOL Try helping push your jeep out of the mud in Africa in the dark. Now THAT is a fun memory.
  6. Thank you for the best Cruise Critic post I've ever read. Protecting our planet has large and small actions. We can make a difference. And "awareness of the consequences" is huge. Thanks again.
  7. Seattle recommends the same. Two hours for domestic. BTW, we have one of those expensive credit cards. All those points are paying for us to fly Polaris J class from Seattle to Amsterdam and return from Stockholm. Oh, right and the lounge access. I hope you sleep well. Sincerely.
  8. LOL. I think I'm going to let the media and the courts make final judgments and you and your sister and I can mind our own business, personal opinions put aside.
  9. Are you aware of how few ships can actually make a landing. Fewer than 500 pax to begin with. There's a TREATY there. Worldwide treaty. So think of all the cruises you've been on where the ship was small enough. So for many, many people seeing it in person, even at a distance, is awesome.
  10. We're not long term cruisers and I was telling my husband last night that I'd have to look long and hard at ever cruising again after our paid in full one in July.
  11. And when you lose a customer it's way harder to get them back than it was to get them in the first place. And that lost customer tells others who DO trust that lost customer.
  12. I truly recommend that you send you commend to Oceania.
  13. EXCUSE ME! Have you been there? I have. And I got to go ashore. And it was wonderful. But it's also wonderful if you can ride all around it and see something completely unique. @ORV can you weigh in here? I'm ALMOST beyond belief that anyone in the world could justify what was done?
  14. Well, it's hit a little bit of media 🙂 https://www.newsbreak.com/news/3332242198706-passengers-are-furious-after-norwegian-cruise-line-removed-antarctica-from-its-itinerary-after-everyone-had-boarded?noAds=1&_f=app_share&s=a3&share_destination_id=MTA3NTY1MzM2LTE3MDc4Nzg5ODEzNTY%3D
  15. We were there a few years ago. Granted it was an expedition cruise (small ship where we got to go ashore) . But I tell ya what if I had walked onto any ship that I had "bought" I'd be furious. Disappointed? Oh sure. But foaming at the mouth furious. With wifi on board I'd be contacting a lawyer before I ever disembarked. I hope a whole lot of those pax.
  16. One or two? I'll certainly be checking out every one of them before I book another.
  17. Ditto. We have some ports of our July cruise that were pretty key to booking the trip. No more stress.
  18. Holy Cow! (Not allowed to write what I'd like to!)
  19. I booked our cruise in Sept. and the SM shore excursions at the same time.
  20. Where is that "WOW" emoji?!?! As a side question are their any cruise line companies who do things like this and have that reputation? I'd be inclined to give them my money. But I realize that for those who spend a large part of the year on cruises that would be quite limiting.
  21. Thanks. After I posted above, I looked and see several different names. Whatever 🙂
