  1. If, Princess were to drop the standard fare option we would turn to another line. We have done comparison shopping before and we would have no qualms about jumping ship. We have cruised various lines many times and we are not loyal to any one of them as we are itinerary driven cruisers.
  2. I am assuming they will. However, we used OBC as payment for the excursion so I wasn't sure if that would make a difference.
  3. From past experiences with Princess shore excursion revisions, I know they will adjust the time. The only thing that has me wondering is when I booked the whale watching excursion it was at a cheaper price. In looking at the excursion pricing now, I see it is a bit more in price so I was wondering if Princess will honor the original booking price or the new one.
  4. "Scheduled engine maintenance"
  5. We are on the 1/27/24 Discovery Princess sailing to Mexico. Our Cabo port time was changed to 2 PM to 9 PM. We had a Princess Whale Watching excursion for 2-4 PM booked and so far, that time has not changed. Wondering how Princess plans to pull that one off (arriving at 2 PM and then the excursion taking place at 2 PM). I guess we will find out once on board the ship.
  6. @cruiseypop. Thanks for the casino betting details, I appreciate it. We have been on the Discovery a few times and the casino seems to run hot and cold for us. Some nights the place was so packed, we opted for early morning participation. Our Mexico cruise will be January 27th. Not expecting big windfalls but it sure would be nice to walk away with a few extra $$ in our pockets.
  7. @cruiseypop. Congratulations on your wins. Quick question for you: did you make max bets on all your casino activity? I use a daily limit and it seems if I bet max the money goes real quick. So, I am more conservative so I can play longer.
  8. When I accessed the print luggage tag from my phone the app showed the incorrect luggage tag information. So, I went into my Princess Cruise Personalizer on their website and then printed out my correct luggage tag using my desktop.
  9. I don't think Princess will eliminate the PC option -- they are aware that not everyone has a smart phone.
  10. It is day 75 for us so I can print out our luggage tags. I was NOT successful at printing the tags from my phone as it still shows our old June Alaska cruise information. I WAS successful at printing out the correct information when using my desktop.
  11. The same thing happened to me. When I went in to the app and saw the Print Luggage Tag feature on my upcoming January cruise I clicked on it thinking I could print out the tags now. However, my tags were for this past June's Alaska cruise. Fortunately, my 75 day opening window for printing out luggage tags is tomorrow so I guess I will just wait and see what appears on the app. If it is still messed up, I will print out the tags from my desktop.
  12. I have been checking three of my cruises (2 for 2024 and 1 for 2025) daily and none of them have gone down -- only up in price.
  13. We have two cruises booked to Alaska for 2024. Both Princess cruises have the same itinerary (Vancouver to Vancouver) and are for 14 days each. When we go to Alaska we tend to gravitate toward the whale watching and glacier tours. Here is what we have booked: Juneau: Jayleen's Alaska for whale watching (independent vendor) Whittier: Phillips Cruises Glacier Quest (independent vendor) Hubbard Glacier: Hubbard Glacier & Wilderness Exploration (ship's tour) Icy Strait: Glacier Wind Charters for whale watching (independent vendor) Ketchikan: Black Bear, Wildlife & Nature Walk (ships tour) Because we have quite a bit of on board credit, we are still waiting for Princess to post the remainder of their excursions to see if there is something of interest to us. As far as pointers are concerned, I would say ask yourself why do I want to cruise to Alaska? Write down a "wish list" and then do some research. This is your cruise and it should be tailored to what you want to get out of your visit. Once you have a plan and you still need some guidance, there are many wonderful people on this board who will be happy to answer questions. Just remember, experiences can be subjective so that is why it is important for you to do your research. YouTube and TripAdvisor can also give you some insight.
  14. @suzyluvs2cruise. Thank you for the suggestion, I appreciate it. I will definitely check it out.
  15. I always book our "must do" excursions ASAP so we never miss an opportunity to enjoy our favorite excursions. We are cruising twice to Alaska in 2024 and have already booked our independent as well as our ship's excursions. In fact, one of our ship excursion has already gone up in price. Popular independent vendors can book up fast -- one of our independent vendors is taking reservations already for 2025. Enjoy your Alaska planning.
  16. Thanks. We are in our 70s as well so it sound like the Hilton might be an option for us.
  17. Thank you for the information about the Hilton, I appreciate it. A couple of questions: Did you feel safe walking around especially to and from the Hilton? We used to live in WA but know that things have chanced since we lived there. Also, since we will be on a cruise, the train walk with luggage (we have no mobility issues) is an easy walk to the Hilton? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
  18. Thank you for your post. I am doing a little research for our May 2025 Seattle-Seattle Alaska cruise. I noticed that you stayed at the Marriott Waterfront (a place that we have stayed at before) and took the ferry to Bainbridge Island. My husband mentioned the ferry to me last night as something to take while we are doing a pre-cruise visit. Questions: Was the cost $9:45 per person or total? Where is the location for boarding the ferry? and finally, how did you get to the Marriott Waterfront from the airport? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
  19. Our two 2024 Alaska cruises (14 days each, Vancouver to Vancouver) were higher when I first booked them. During one of the sales, I was able to refare both of them and saved quite a bit. Since then, the price has gone up $200 for both of them. My pricing for our 17 day Seattle to Seattle Alaska cruise for 2025 is on the high side with also a $200 jump like our 2024 cruises. I don't anticipate I will see any reduction unless something special comes about during the holidays --- and I am not holding my breath for that.
  20. Just went and checked our May 2025 cruise to Alaska and, like our 2024 cruises, the pricing was $200 more than when we first booked it. We were not as lucky as you --- congratulations.
  21. I checked our May and August 2024 Alaska cruises and both cruises went up about $200. Glad we booked when we did.
  22. I always book our Alaska flights ASAP to ensure we get the flight times we want. We go to Alaska each year and I can tell you that our flights have always been full.
  23. @KarriLena. Hope you get the results you are looking for. Please come back and let us know the outcome as your findings might help another cruiser down the road. I share your sense of impatience -- I like to lock in all my plans as soon as I can.
  24. @KarriLena have you tried calling the Alaska Railroad to discuss your concern? Perhaps they are not taking reservations yet or there is some type of mechanical issue. I find it interesting that there is no availability for the entire summer season -- seems odd.
  25. I agree that the Hanger is a good option. With such a large party, you might want to make a reservation. We spent a few days in Juneau right after Covid eased up and every night the place had a waiting line and reservations were definitely suggested. We had no real problems as we got our food "to go."
